Dear members,


Well, this has taken some time to come, but it’s been difficult to work out how to announce.

There’s not much of a way to beat around the subject, so it’s a simple statement. Much to our disappointment, the MeMod team have to announce that Daerk has left the active team producing the Middle-Earth Mod for Morrowind. While his sabbatical from the project has been noticed by most members of the forums for some time now, we had hoped that he would be remaining in contact and continuing to contribute to the production of the Mod.
As a result of his real-life commitments, this has not proven to be the case, and in his absence we are moving on, having decided we needed a present director.

Therefore, I feel that it is only fair to make it clear publicly that, the MeMod is in effect under different direction, and has been so since April, to an extent.
We’d like to thank Daerk for the time and effort that he was able to commit during his tenure, and we look forward to hearing from him once real-life issues are resolved.

We’ll not deny his departure from active involvement is a setback to the mod, but is has always been a team project, and not one of us is bigger than the mod itself. The emphasis, style, and content will change subtly with a different interpretation at the helm, but such is the process of development.

With Daerk’s step-down, likewise, we have felt that it is prudent to close down the proposed forums for MeGame for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R engine. Should the project proceed beyond initial stages of planning, then we can all be certain it will be announced in the specialist gaming press, and with its own dedicated website. For now, however, the members of the MeMod teams have felt that its presence on the MeMod forums is misleading and distracting to our own goal, that of a Mod for the Morrowind community.

And with that, let’s continue producing the game.

Of course, real life problems are much more important than the Me-Mod. May Daerk succeed in solving them and, in his own time, come back to the Me-Mod. It feels strange, however, to know that he has left the team... because it was HIS project in the beginning, right? However, I am sure that the team will do a great job, and that Daerk will be very happy with it when he comes back to the forums. Best of luck!

I'm sorry to see him go, but real life should always take priority. I do hope he gets his problems sorted out.

Hello everyone. I lurk here a lot but I never registered until now.

This is sad news, but real life always comes first. I wish Daerk good luck and hope his problems will be solved.

Did he actually say he was going to quit? Or have you not heard from him at all?

Either way, I'll remain hopeful that he'll come back someday.

I hope he gets things sorted out, It's sad to see him go, but he has his worries to take care off i guess.
I wish him the best of luck and maybe we'll see him again...

Here's to Daerk coming back [after figuring/fixing things {out}]!!

Now I fully understand why such huge projects become a failure at the very end. Because most teams can't resist such blows and after a little time they broke up. As a team, I mean. No natural leader, no project. It, eventually, happens because they are not professionals and they are not ready for such things, they hope that all will be fine. But, the truth is that such blows ALWAYS happens, in huge projects.

However I do believe that this team will continue working just fine. IT will happen because you gave us the impression you ARE professionals. If this team resist this; MEMod will be on schedule and will not loose a bit of its quality.

Eventually, I understand Daerk's decision to retire from this mod; personal life is above these things, they are only a small part of it. Lastly I would like to thank Daerk for what he have offered to this mod and mostly for making us, the Tolkienites, believe that we'll see an authentic Middle-Earth and we'll live it.

I am also a long time lurker and rarely post but I just gotta say that Daerk will be missed. I have to say that I do like the way the forums have been handled lately with Daerk being away but I think that his presence made the mod seem very solid. I know this is a huge blow but I do think that the mod will continue on and still become that great game we all expect it to be. Of course, one more major person leaving could bring it all crashing down. With that being said, I hope that Suzerain, Wookiee, and company all decide to stick this out to the very end. The whole team is appreciated for all that they do and I hope you guys will find a way to bring this all together and make it even better than previously planned.

Well, I have no involvement with MeMod but he used to post on other forums, too. I wish him well in any endeavours. Should he come back I am sure he would be welcomed.

He will sadly miss out on my goat photographs which should be appearing sometime soon.....
