MEMod is not just about a person, we are a whole team working on this, and working hard. MEMod is alive, very alive, maybe more than ever, so don't panic.

But... me.. mem.... memo..d? memod? where are you?
Or can this mod be now considered ? |
Like f*ck it is dead
it's more alive now that it was half a year ago...
More alive by a long way.
So damn alive that I'm beginning to get that point that I'll drag it back from the afterlife if people claim it's dead. I'm not the best leader for this project - I need more assistance from a thousand skill-sets to create the mod - the Devs all need more teamsters under them to get more done - and I know I should be giving more to it, but we all have real-life to life first.
but
The hype dies tonight. it's only morrowind, it's got limits - and while we'll do everything we can, those limits remain.
the Pretentious up-it's own arseness of the old attitudes died. We're making a mod. it will kick arses, but it will be a mod to immerse yourself in the world, first and foremost.
The arrogance that was held I think I safely killed a long time ago.
The aloofness, the failure to deliver to you the would-be players, if I did'nt kill, the pie-fights and goat-blowing certainly killed. Thanks Dark0ne, I'll never live it down. y' baastard.
But we're doing it at a plausible pace. we're ensuring that it's designed properly. we'll not bullsh*t you, it's still a long way off. that 60% complete is one of the most optimistic figures I've seen in a long time.
The secrecy on things like storyline remains - we're not going to let that out the bag.
The Screenies and the artwork and the samples will trickle out at the same rate, perhaps more in the future. that won't change untill we're in a position to do so.
the philosophy of the Mod remains. and the philosophy has changed. yes, that's a contradiction. but saying more will have to wait for another day.
Perhaps someday there'll be a "Suzerain on" post alongside Daerk's vision...
I'm not D. I'm suzerain. The vision I have remains that which will shape the memod, as it was before. I suspect it might end up darker and more grandiose in narrative, with me directing the whole mod, but little else will alter. The Mod remains.
and the show goes on, behind the scenes
Dead? not by a long way. Not with what I have in line.

My suspisions are confirmed that the Dark Lord, Daerk, has resigned. There is a power vacume to be filled. I believe it's time to spring into action. NOW, I will unveil my plan.....!!!
REVOLUTION NOW!!
*In walks fifty of my personal guards, armed to the teeth, who instantainiously sullute Fearless Leader(me, YOU FOOLS!!)*
My armies have already destroyed the remnants of the old regime. Those who do not loyally serve the spirit of this revolution are the enemies of the people! You will fufill your duty to the newly founded People's Republic of Middle Earth, or you will discover the pain of political re-education. No point in resisting now, we controll all major government functions and infrustructures and a quarter of my forces have just invaded Poland!
You will now all swear fielty to the Republic. You will all be given social and carreer assignments as soon as possible. Goats and pies from this day forward are contrabanned. Any who heckle my spelling abilities shall labor long in the sweat pits of Mordor!
Mua HA hA Ha HAAhaaaa!
Tom Foolery aside, I'm confident in Suz's and Wookie's and Morgoth's and everyone else's ability to finish the mod with the quality invisioned from the begining. Your artists, for cripes sakes, not just a bunch of hyped up fans. To tell the truth, I've been waiting for this anouncement. Just hope there will be room for Daerk if he is ever freed up enough to come back
PEACE

P.S. MEmod is mine!!!

As many people I am a long-time lurker who seldom posts, and I am sorry that Daerk has left the project, but nevertheless I am delighted to see that the development of the mod is progressing.
I am especially delighted that some of the main developers are trying to curb the ongoing hype about this mod. In my view it really got overtop now and again, with people demanding the implausible of the developers. I am therefore pleased to see that someone is trying to hold back the many pretensions about the mod that’s been floating round the forums.

I haven't been posting much lately in fear of getting flamed due to grudges some of you may have against me due to... something that shall never be spoken of again.
I will however risk saying this:
I am sorry to hear that Daerk is leaving. He was a very interesting person and led the mod well (from what i could see.) There is however no doubt in my mind that Suzerain is a more than appropriate replacement for him and has been doing an excellent job so far.
I hope that Daerk finds solutions to his problems and rejins teh MEMod in the future as a Snior Dev.

Jeez, I'm on vacation for 3 weeks and come back to this.
Well, first of all, good luck Suzerain. This is one hell of a project to even imagine completing, but I hope you guys can pull it through.
Obviously there is much much more to do, but it seems to a year-long forum poster that a lot has been done. I really do wish that this will be completed, at least in some variation, because it is still going to be an awesome game. I just hope that if development is suspended, all the work is not destroyed and lost, for some of it I assume could always be used in the distant future.
Anyway, good luck again, thanks for everything so far, and don't forget the real world, that's first.

I've just been looking over the forums since my last post here and saw something incredible. There is a huge amount of devs and teamsters working on this, there are a large number of applicants continually hoping to become part of the team, and there has been an active community following this for years. I hope this leadership shift can move quickly, cause other than that, it seems memod is at its largest yet (at least from my view).

I'm sorry to have read that Daerk has left the team. It is a set back for sure, but, as I have sorely learned, RL must take priority over flights of fancy. I wish the restructured team the best of luck and godspeed... By-gum we've been waiting long enough

!
But in all earnestness, his commanding presence will be missed, but since I believe everything happens for a reason (call it fate or karma or whatever) perhaps it is just as well that he had to step down.

well, i must say, we all know daerk will be missed. Hopefully he will come back and help complete this mod.

Sad, that he left. Reminds me of P.O.D. and Evanescence. Sadly enough, all teams can't stay together forever.
But look at forementioned bands. P.O.D. came up with their best album (IMO) after Marcos left. And Evanescence continued their tour without Moody.
So, hopefully, MEmod won't be.. you know

In fact MEMod is so addictive that soon we'll be marketing 'MEMod Fix' in your local pharmacy. It comes in syringe form and will be available for the reasonable price of $1000. Each shot will transmit a screenshot of a character model and a landscape shot directly into your brain. The downside of course is paralyzing strokes, massive hemorrhaging in the brain, and cancerous tumors.

That's going to happen in every forum you go to that lasts longer than a month. The so called "old schoolers" have more experience on the forums. This doesn't give them any right to flame, but it gives them the right to critic people when they're wrong because they have been around long enough to know what's right and wrong.

Regarding this comment, forums are about communication. If a poster chooses to post in such a way that it makes deciphering his/her post a chore - eg by using 'txt spk' (for which there is absolutely no excuse outside an SMS), '1337 5P34|<', or stream of consciousness posting (such as free-flow posting devoid of any punctuation) - it shows a complete lack of respect for other forum members who have to waste their time trying to render this into a legible form. Objecting to this style of posting is not the same as making fun of people whose command of the English language is not perfect, and your statement is nothing more than an offensive comment.
As to the poster who stated this was a 'lifestyle choice' - please don't inflict this lifestyle on everybody else. Or some MEMod devs might just decide to make a 'lifestyle choice' of answering all questions in Anglo-Saxon verse.

If you really cannot see the irony in the first post I quoted here, then please acquire a sense of humour as a matter of urgency. I believe that surian's comment was meant as a joke - an opinion which seems to be shared by at least one other poster.
