sting: No.

the Palantíri: Wait and see.

the one ring: No.

the nine rings: No.

the seven rings: No.

the three: No.

horns: Like the Horn of the Mark that was given to Merry then no.... Just a regular horn then maybe.

in order of no-ness...

The one Ring.
Absolutely chuffin' well are-you-blimmin-off-your-tits-on-drugs-not.
I see you have'nt even read the top line of the FAQ.

The Nine.
you're not a ringwraith. they were given to the ringwraiths 1000 yers before the start of the Third age. that's a no, then.

The Three
you're not playing Cirdan, Elrond, Galadriel, or Gandalf. (Cirdan had Narya before handing to Gandalf on his arrival in middle-earth)
so... no.

The Seven
You're not a Dwarf Lord. there is the tiniest chance you might find one in a dragon-hoard, if you're particularly brave or tough...
But do you really want the misery and greif it will bring on you?

The Palantiri
Dependant on timeline, up to seven will be in existence.
Annuminas, Osgiliath's and Amon Sul's stones will be lost during the third age in recorded incidents. likewise the Ithil-Stone will be lost to most people's hands in the third age - I take it you'll not want go ask sauron for it back...
Orthanc and Minias Tirith's stones will be extant, of course, but in the case of orthanc, heavily guarded, locked away or in the clutches of Saruman, and in the case of Minias Tirith, in the posession of the Kings or Stewards.
The Stone of Elostirion, the White Towers, always looked to the sunken west, and is technically unusable...
so they'll be there, but very unlikely to be usable.

Sting
it's an elvish long knife. it just happened to be given a name by Bilbo. there are likely to be many almost the same. will one be the one picked up by Bilbo in later years? who knows how the Trolls came accross the hoard...

Horns
The Horn of Vorondil is, of course, carried by the line of the stewards of Gondor, and guarded jealously from it's creation to it's loss. however, similar horns are likely to be found. the Kine of arawn have two horns... what happened to the sister to the horn made into the Horn of the Stewards?
I'll leave that as a teaser to players as to if it's a plot part or not tongue.gif

Other unique items. let's see.
Narsil, The Ring of barahir, the helm of gondor, the elendilmir, and so on are likely to be in the same categories.

however, there are equally items of equipment, like armour, arms, bows, horns, manuscripts, rings (some magical? who knows...) and a host of other items which come under the category of "artefacts", and those will be much more easily accessable in the game.

However, please do read the FAQ and it's likely to answer a lot of the questions.
Suzerain.

Quite Man
But could you be able to steal horns like the horn of vorondil and others?
Hir_Nesta
if it affects or changes history or facts of middle earth, then NO... smile.gif

lol, yeah, I actually laughed.

I was wondering if you can get certain items from folk that are thankful to you? Just little gifts that you will see on your character, like the Elven-leave-thingies the Fellowship got to... er.. 'click' on their cloak.. You know what I mean...
Can you get items like that, that will remember you that you've helped someone, or been somewhere.

Is that a question or a statement? huh.gif

I don't know, I just want an answer... bye2.gif
Maquissar
NI! We are the knights who say... NI!

Will there also be fun artifacts who technically add nothing to the game and do not belong in Middle Earth, but are easter eggs? Like for example the Holy Grenade of Antioch in Fallout 2?
Theta Orionis
If we told you about the Easter eggs we'd be spoiling the surprise, wouldn't we? laugh.gif

Well, are you talking about your question, or the first one?

Because if it's the first question, you should be kicked off the forums. tongue.gif

Woohoo-> Easter Eggz

Woah my new goal in life: Find all Easter-Eggs in MeMod!
Pack lots of Egg in it buddys, i want to be occupated with it for the rest o' my good ol' life happy.gif
Maquissar
I love Easter Eggs... no computer game should be too serious... and remember, the best sources are Monthy Python and the Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy :-D
Slaiv
Yup. laugh.gif

Star Wars is good too.
suzerain
I suspect some of the easter eggs will be taking the piss out of peter jackson's LOTR and hollywood in general.
Legolas' Hair Conditioner™ and Elrond's suit and shades have already been referred to as possibles....
the rest, I'll leave to your imagination.

and to answer illuventi's version

yes and no. you might get some sorts of gifts through the storyline and through side-quests. a peice of elven silversmithing might count as an ampulet slot, and be wearable as a brooch/cloakpin in-game.
it might even have a subtle effect, that you don't notice, without that horrid plastic-wrap effect....

and so on. some bits are going to be unlikely - you'll not get a suit of mithril armour as a thanks for something... but you might get a gem-encrusted scabbard for a sword...

Suz
.:Imrahil:.
Thanks, Suzerain, that answers my question.

But my name is Imrahil! tongue.gif
suzerain
Bah. someday I might get names right.
