ive been playin morrowindfor awhile but when i was a wizard in the mages guild i was given the option 2 fight trebonius, so i did. this bumped me up 2 master wizard tho, not archmage and now i cant get promoted nemore cuz trebonius is dead...... am i screwed? plz help!

no you havent screwed up,i think you'll find you can only be arch anything in house telvanni,however i do know there are some small quests to do with the khajit in the balmora mages guild....i mite be wrong about the archmage thingy but as far as i know from experience once you kill him you are the top rank of the mages guild.

i kno in my journal it said that i was the new archmage of the guild but on the menu screen where it lists all the guilds ur in it says im still the master wizard o well i started a new one ne ways...... yea 10 more hours of play just 2 get back 2 that point.........

There acually is a problem with mage's guild advancement...

You aren't supposed to chalenge Trebonius until you are the next rank. Morrowind made a patch for this proplem. Maybe the patch fixes this too?

You're screwed. There is no way you can become Archmage now. (without the most terrible thing ever, CHEATING) You are supposed to challenge him only when you are a master wizard.

i kno cheating is wrong but i played this far w/o it and I WANNA BE THE ARCHMAGE! how can i become it with cheating? (this may b a good time 2 say that i have the xbox version)

If your on Xbox version, your screwed. Rememember that besides a few more reputation points and like a +5 on each Mages Guild memebers disposition, as long as your Master Wizard your ok (most people just become Arch-Mage to kill Trebonious for his Staff and Amulet).

i also play xbox version, and i skipped right by master wizard to arch mage when i killed trebonious. dunno what ta tell ya man
