Advertising using the Database is strictly forbidden. That is, making a download that is nothing more than an ad. The next person who does this I will be reporting to Dark0ne for abuse of a free resource.
Peregrine
Pinned/moved to site news for you, hopefully it'll get their attention.
Stormscape
Thanks. I just didn't want Dark0ne to get mad at me by posting it in news orginally. smile.gif

"If you can use it,you abuse it!"-me. Some people have no spine,geez...
Stormscape
Exactly. They think just because I'm only site staff I can't do anything. Let's see, Switch is also site staff, and Dark0ne is omniscient. smile.gif
Adras
Ok, so let me get this straight. You cant say "VISIT MY SITE HERE!!!"? If so, that is understandable. I would say, if you want to advertise your web site, do it in your sig where people dont have to waste time looking at your forums, when they can just ignore your sig =o)
Peregrine
No, you just can't post a "mod" which is really just an advertisement. Including a link to your mod site in the description is entirely different.
Adras
Ok, thatnks. I was just a little confused. But that happens a lot =o)

Not that anybody ever clicks those anyway. wink.gif
NoRemorse
so what if it were a 'trailer' for the mod. would that be okay? trailer as in a 3-5 minute movie. laugh.gif

You'd have to ask Dark0ne on that. But I'd say no.
Slaiv
If you included it as an extra part of the package, then maybe. For example:

Person A is working on Project X. Person A finishes Project X, and decides to make a sequel to Project X, which will be Project Y. Person A decides to upload Project X to MWSource. Included in his zip, is a small trailer for Project Y, as well as a readme.

That would be fine [I believe] as long as the trailer is small.
NoRemorse
okay, i understand now. Thanks! wink.gif

I didn't even know u could make a download of just an ad shiftyph34r.gif
Slaiv
Just make a......well, I won't tell for the sake of MWSource's server space.
Adras
I would think that if someone made even a long video and put it in their zip, it would be ok, because you dont have to watch it if you dont want... Like putting a picture in the zip, you dont HAVE to look at it, so its ok. But thats just my opinion.
no name white boy
I have to agree with adras you dont have to look at it if you dont want to but some people might actually want to but rules are rules you cant change that.
Slaiv
I just said that because video files take up alot of room [a.k.a. server space. Which costs money.] Such as the two Half-Life 2 E3 videos, which both took up about 600,000kb apiece.
