Eiade's opponent stopped attacking and shielded its eyes, stumbling backwards away from the rest of the party and the staff.
She ran towards the rest of the party, leaping over daedra on their knees and vaulting off of rock and trees. She then sprinted towards the group, and slid in behind them. With the last of her magicka, she launched one more light spell at the closest oblivion host. And, without hesitation, grabbed with both hands onto the mystical stave.
She let out a yell of pain, and dropped to her knees, but still held on with all her might...

As the hooded man grabbed the staff his body jolted and he fell to one knee. He grimaced from the pain but held on, for these deadras seemed immune to any other form of attack. The red runes were burning as the apperaed his skin.
"Fight....the pain. Disregard it. ..D..D..Dispel...." cried Arodom.

With the addition of Arodom, Eiade and Ken to the Staff's power. The daedra collapsed on the floor writhing. Their black robes and armour started to disintegrate and soon nothing was left but 9 faint black spots of mist on the ground. These too soon began to dissipate.
However, two of these mists came closer to the Staff. Before one of them had gotten very far, it had dissipated. The remaining black mist, growing smaller and weaker by the second continued however. Suddenly, with its last reserve of strength, the mist gained speed and touched Apache and Arodom before dissipating also.
Apache and Arodom let go of the Staff and collapsed onto the ground unconcious. A huge column of black smoke surrounded their two unconcious bodies and when the smoke had cleared, they were gone.
Has-Big-Axe, no longer able to bear the pain, let go of the Staff and fell to the ground. Soon, all of the remaining party members were on the ground also and the Staff was normal again and the intense light was gone. Has-Big-Axe opened his eyes finally and looked around. His mind did not immediately pick up what, but he realised that something was missing. With a start, he realised that neither Apache nor Arodom were present. He tried to tell the others but found his speech slurred and his tongue heavy. Collapsing back onto the ground for a few minutes, he tried again and cried out to the others, "Apache and Arodom are missing!!"

Tyjet layed on the ground in tremendous pain... He couldn't move his body, it hurt so much... Tyjet looked at his hands and watched in amazement as the runes slowly started to retreat down to the tips of his fingers. Soon he looked normal, but certainly didn't feel normal!
The first to get up was Eiade... she looked tired. Her hair was messed up and she had been sweating a lot. She looked run down.
Tyjet still couldn't move. He tried to call out to her, "Ei...a...de..., I have... some... herbs... in this... bag... You know... Alchemy... well enough... to help ... the others... Take it..." With that Tyjet passed out...

"We're just not proficient in the good luck category, now are we?" Eiade said as she looked at Tyjet's body. She looked around and saw everyone else all over the ground, moaning, trying to get a hold of themselves. She and the man in black hadn't been holding on for too long, so she wasn't too bad. On the contrary, Tyjet was unconcious. Eiade sighed. "Auri-El Almighty," she said.
She dragged Tyjet and leaned him against the same tree that Has-Big-Axe had been on. She then went over to the bag of herbs that his hand had dropped, picked it up, and looked inside.
Hmm... shards of hack-lo leaf, stoneflower petals, trama root, bittergreen petals, and mini-bags of bonemeal. (ooc: if we were to use game terminology, maybe we could say that the staff drained our stats a little bit to cast such a spell) She knew all the effects well enough. None of these except hack-lo were very tasty.
She took so hack-lo and bittergreen and started to chew it. The strong tart taste of the hack-lo drowned out the bittergreen a little, but the plant was named bittergreen for a reason. She offered one ot two of each to everyone in the party, except Tyjet of course.
After everyone had one or two of everything, she looked in the bag and there was almost nothing left. They had to start moving as soon as possible so they could reach Gnisis before anything else happened. Once they reached Gnisis, they could buy ingredients, food, and water, and fix their weapons.
Eiade began to try to fix her hair and dab the sweat off of her face. She turned towards Has-Big-Axe, who was now standing and gathering up his armor.
"Where do you think they went?"

Isaac, who had been walking for several miles already, was carrying a large sack of Vivic knows what on his back. (immagine a huge backpack that is very heavy) The long walk was staring to make him get tired. "I can't be tired now, what if they need me?" He pulled the sack up on his shoulders and continued. Suddenly, an idea came to him.
"My god, how come I didn't think of that before?" Isaac said as he smacked himself on the forehead. "So forgetful!" Pulling his staff out of his backpack, he struggled to balence as cast as as spell. There was a white light that engulfed Isaacs Body and backpack, he he was gone.
The next thing he knew, he was a little behind the group. Assuming that the bodies on the ground were his former companions. He ran over to them with a grim look on his face. Isaac knew they weren't dead judging from their breathing. Putting the backpack on the ground, he immeadiatly got out potions from the pockets. Potions for just about every afflicion that his party may be suffering.

Jul 14 2004, 11:01 PM
After giving the last of the herbs to Apache, Eiade put the empty bag with Tyjet's pack, then plopped down next to the Breton, sitting in the shade once more.
"Well, here we are again," she said. "Idling around waiting for a companion to regain conciousness, and another to return from Oblivion itself for all we know. At least the five of us are alive and well!"
Eiade's impatience came from years of travelling with other acrobats in the performing troupe that she used to be in. They always ran as fast as her, and noone in the group was the reason for a delay. She had also done missions for people where she had travelled with a healer or monk or something of the sort, who were very proficient in unarmored and unarmed combat, and could run quickly. She simply wasn't used to these situations with parties of varying talents. And she had not been on many missions as difficult and as dangerous as this one.
She pulled some grass out of the ground and began idly playing with it. The Breton must be woken. She reached over to her travel belt and pulled off her leather water pouch, undid the top, and splashed water all over Tyjet's face. He stirred, and spit out some water, but didn't open his eyes yet.
"If our mystery man isn't back in fifteen minutes, I say we leave."

Ken looked at his hands. The runic symbols were gone, as they had been for a while, but he could still feel the burning on his palms. He looked over at the unconcious Apache. "You think those words'll disappear? I'd hate to have the scar of that sentence tatooed on my back."

Tyjet got up... As he rose and saw he was in a castle... He was in Ebonheart. Faces he knew stood about the room, but he could think of their names. Tyjet tried to reach out to someone but they didn't even acknowledge his presence. The Imperial Cult rooms glowed with an erie blue but there was a sense of tranquility in the air.
The blue lights flickered and Tyjet saw a young boy run by. His eyes followed the boy as he jumbed in to a man's arms, it was Yomia... Yomia raised the boy up in the air and swung him around as the little boy laughed...What is this?... Suddenly the world around him changed...
He was in in the back room... It looked like the same boy was here but he was older now. Yomia was wispering things in to his ear... The boy seemed very happy and was raising his hands to cast a spell. Yomia backed away and the boy moved his hands in a circular motion and a blue light covered the boy and it went away. Suddenly another change of location...
Tyjet found him self looking over a dead body on the side of a road... It was no one he knew... Tyjet looked up and was shocked to see himself standing ten feet in front of him... That little boy was me... Sudenly another flash and Tyjet stood indoors somewhere.
Tyjet looked around and saw he was by himself... He scaned the room and recognized it immediatly... Yomia's private quarters... Suddenly the other Tyjet charged in to the room, he lookd very upset. Yomia followed close behind. Tyjet watched as he saw himself argue with one person he had trusted all his life. Tyjet lifted some papers from the table and threw them at Yomia "What are these!?! You were using me to cover up a murder!! I thought I could trust you... You were like a father to me... I hate you!!!" Tyjet watched as his other self ran out the room... Yomia knelt down and picked up the papers and started to cry...
Then everything went black... Flashes of images started to appear...
Then saw around him a female wood elf, a deadric covered argonian, a majestic cat, a dangerous looking orc, and another argonian laying on the ground. He was back... Then a farmilar face came running in his direction... it was a good friend, his battle buddy Isaac...

Luthin flared up in indignance. "How dare you speak to me in such a way little man?" He motioned and the daedra suddenly vanished into the darkness. He reached into his robe and brought out a red crystal, about the size of a fist.
"You will learn to have respect for your superiors mageling!"
With that, he closed his eyes and held out the crystal infront of him. Arodom moved to grab the crystal but found himself unable to. Fixed to the spot by the red crystal's power. Luthin gritted his teeth in concentration and suddenly, red light shot away from the crystal in all directions. The shockwave hit Arodom and he cried out in pain as he felt as if the shockwave was ripping each cell from the next.
Suddenly, the solid darkness that was under his feet turned into the gaseous darkness that surrounded him. He fell and the red light followed him, battering his senses. The last thing he saw before losing conciousness was the rapdily distancing smiling face of Luthin.
He landed on the grass with a thump. He opened his eyes and saw the people that he had helped fight off the daedra with in the distance. He tried to call out to them for help but suddenly felt a surge of inexplicable hatred rise up for them. He remained lying on the grass, waiting for all of his senses to recover from the shock.

Eiade remembered that she had to collect her throwing daggers. She walked over and collected her second dagger, (ooc: i don't remember where i threw this one. in fact, i'm not even sure if i even threw it. this is just in case. She wiped off and cleaned the small daggers with leaves on the ground, and stuck them in her belt line in the back of her pants.
There was rumbling in the bushes, and she could see that the man in black had returned.
Eiade stood up and looked tensly at him. He looked different from when they last saw him. She didn't know if it was fear or anger. It could be anything. She had already distrusted the man, so this was not helping. She discreetly pulled out a throwing dagger and concealed it in her tied up hair.

Has-Big-Axe finally managed to gather back together all of his armour. He out it all on and put his various pouches where they normally went on or in the armour.
Has-Big-Axe looked over to where Tyjet, Duriel and Eiade were all looking. He saw the aproaching figure of the hooded man in black. He was about to call out to him but realised that something had changed in him. His instincts immediately told him that it was a change for the worse but he tried to ignore that feeling.
Seeing a piece of metal in Eiade's hair, Has-Big-Axe was shocked and started to tell her when he suddenly realised what she was doing. She was hiding a throwing dagger in her hair. Under normal circumstances he would have laughed but Has-Big-Axe knew that Eiade must be feeling the same about the hooded man as him. He decided that she had had a good idea and slipped his hand into the pouch with his daedric darts in. He felt them and counted only eight of them left. Eight daedric darts would fell the mightiest of foes but he felt underarmed, underprotected and vulnerable. He had never felt so before, especially wearing his heavy daedric scales with his axe slung across his back and his darts ready to be thrown.
He overcame this strange feeling and called out to the hooded man when he approached near enough,
"What is your name... friend?" he hesitated after calling the man 'friend', "You fought well against those foul creatures. We feared that you were dead. Where have you been, i saw you vanish before my eyes!"

Has-Big-Axe watched in horror as the dagger slowly disintegrated and turned to dust. It disappeared and left still a gaping wound. Arodom winced and he looked down to see a trickle of blood from his chest.
"Damn!" he said, "Not quite as good as I thought"
He motioned and chanted and tried to cast a healing spell and after several failed attempts, he succeeded and the wound closed. He wavered and looked hesitantly as the party. He seemed to make up his mind and shouted at them,
"Its nothing. I kill you now!"
He summoned a Clannfear but suddenly a black column of smoke rose from the ground around him and when it dissipated, he was gone. The Clannfear remained however. It charged at the party and ran straight into the chop of Has-Big-Axe's axe. It fell dead to the ground with its head cleaved in two before vanishing in a swirl of magicka.
Arodom opened his eyes to find himself back in the shadowy Oblivion from whence he had come. He looked up and there stood Luthin. "FOOL!", he said, "Did you think that you could defeat them on your own?! I didn't give you a portion of the crystal's power for you to go and get yourself killed! Go! And get help this time!"
Luthin disappeared from his vision and he felt that he was falling again. Suddenly, the darkness was replaced by trees and verdant countryside. He looked around and saw a village in the distance. He decided to walk towards it.

"You have to get away from here fast, there are evil beings that I have never seen around here, tall, cloaked men that take almost no damage from our attacks." he said while tryin to stop the bleeding from his arm with a rag he had ripped off his dirty shirt. IC:Before anyone had the time to answer, the elf that had run into the forrest came back with a hand pressed to the wound on his stomach. "Nothing, not even a sight of the one we killed", he said when he approached. "Are these all your friends?" he asked Élsúch and inspected the group. "Lamtár", he introduced himself to the companions and took a bow, but quickly stood up again since the cut made itself reminded.
"Is everyone going to aid us destroy that staff?" he asked and inspected the people sitting and standing around him. "Or is this simply a gathering point for adventurers?" he continued with a doubtful look on them all. "Be quiet Lamtár" whispered Élsúch and layed a hand on his shulder. "We must still hurry from this spot before those.. things return", he said and watched over his shoulder towards the trees.

Duriel thought this an appropriate to speak up.
"I travel for wealth. If that means the dessstruction of this staff than so be itt. We have fought things similarrr to what you havve. They are Daedric warriors summoned by Luthin, a darrrk mage who wishesss to possessss the staff."

"Luthin?" whispered Élsúch. "Luthin is still alive?"
Élsúch sat down on the ground and layed his head in his hands. "Then it must be Luthin who.." his voice faded away and he gave his companions a worried look. "Who is this mage that you speak of?" asked the last elf, he had kept quiet until now, but he watched Élsúch and sat down next to him. "Luthin worked for the original owner of the cursed staff, and now it seems as if he wants the damn thing back.." answered Élsúch while rubbing a handfull of plants against his wounded arm. "He is also the one responsible for the destruction of our village. Atleast it seems like he is the one."
Lamtár, who was now rubbing plants against his own wounds, looked terrified and dropped his bow. "So that's the reason my family was slain? That damn staff! I say we use it against this madman, was it Luthin you called him?" he muttered.
"Be careful of what you say loud and what you think to yourself, I happen to know that the last person who wanted to use the thing against him became a slave under his will and ended up killing his own brother" said Élsúch with a look at his friend. "Could we please hurry from here, I've got a bad feeling about it", said the younger elf, he was also rubbing a few plants on his wounds. "Tarkél", he said and bowed.
