Europe. That's why it's called "Euro 2004."
Germany. No question about it.

Until you meet Germany, that is.
To quote the
old German National Anthem:
"Deutschland, Deutschland über alles
Über alles in der Welt..."

Well this is how it will end up:Sweden and some other team, I'll say germany cause you'r logged in right now, will meet in the final match and they will play and play for 3 weeks(like quidditch, but it ain't cabbages, cabbages and cabbages style) and finaly they will agree that the match will never end, therefore they will have 2 winners. Trust me, I know.

Germany, all the way. Again, no question. You cannot get pass the unstoppable force known as Oliver Kahn.

Hey, don't get pissed off cause I insulted your goalie, but isn't Oliver Kahn like 60 years old? I mean, sure he is a great goalkeeper, but so is my little br.. no wait, you're right, he is pretty good. Ain't he dead soon?

As a Swiss one
I'd like to see one of those teams win: France, Sweden,
England, Danmark, or Netherlands.
b-cause the're all very good teams who know how
to play beautiful football (well nothing comparing to brazil (brazil ao penta!!))
and they are fair teams who don't fall to the ground because of every "windblow" (kung pow anyone?)
Why i'm not fond of my own country's team?
becuz Switzerland sucks as high as a pile of goats (let's say 512.43 m high)
They can not play football "even though they would like to" (the streets anyone?)

Clearly you have not read the rules, Fishystick. Certain words are not to be used on this forum as they frighten the goats!
I note that Hir_Nesta has a pile of goats in his recent post. You should be warned that the forum has (I am led to understand) at least one goat 'lover'. This might therefore be deemed unfair to bearded quadrupeds that bleat. (And that is not a description of hairier members of the forum the morning after).
As for football - I shall vote patriotically.

I thought I read the rules correct, but I'll read em again, sorry if I comitted any crime's or such, won't happen again.. unless my understanding of rules is completely gone.. well sorry.
Edit:Ok, I read them again, and it is now obvious that I missed something the first time. Now I'm not saying that you're wrong, I'm just asking, "discussing" these things that are not allowed, does that mean that you start a new topic about it, or is it enough to simply talk about it in a post?

Ah, soccer. One of only three sports where Australia doesn't dominate.

You would have to ask Dark0ne if you wish him to be more specific about what constitutes 'discussion' but they are referred to as unmentionable and are so treated elsewhere in the forum. Therefore I would say they are not to be mentioned in any circumstance.
Indeed there is a current thread about it immediately below this one. Look for all the asterisks! It will make things - er - clear

Please, can we just drop the unmentionables. This is a good discussion, on a good topic. Please lets not let it degenerate into a discussion of the ToS, and how and when the ToS can be bent.
FishyStick said he is sorry.
Don't mean to try to be a moderator here, I am just enjoying this topic, and dont want to see it ruined.
Back on topic.........

I'm not much of a fan, nor do I (voluntarily) watch football on tv, but you can hardly escape it these days - at work everybody's setting bets all the time (with money of course...), at home you always hear somebody in the neighbourhood screaming *TOOOOOOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TOOOOOORRRR!!!!!!!!!* and all that stuff.
So, I resign and say I'm for France! Why? Because I like this Zinedine Zidane guy, he's so... polite... and grant and well, you know what I mean (if you're a woman, too).
And I hate Kahn!

Even if I'm German, ok, half-German. He's rude, he's stupid, he's an a..h...*@! Sink him in the ocean!

What did you expect, I'm a woman?!

Actually, it's the arrogance of the English football commentators which costs the English team a lot of support in Scotland

Sack the commentators, and some of us north of the border might not automatically support the other team in every England match

GO PORTUGAL!!!!

Three words:
Kahn is annoying.

I favor the Dutch, and the Greek team is also somewhat in my good favor these days.

As for the match today, Denmark - Sweden... the second "neighbours meet and fight to death" match this tournament, should be entertaining. (don't pay any heed to the foolish italian papers claiming they'll cheat - tis not their style

).
