Bloodmoon Review

Well, where shall I start? I will start with the storyline. You talk to people in any town in Morrowind and hear latest rumors of a island that is covered in snow called Solstheim. So I got off my lazy butt and traveled to this winter wonderland. I got a boat ride from Khuul to this island. I first noticed my freeze bar meter. After 40 seconds outside it kills your character because of the frost getting to you. If you haven’t understood yet, that was a joke! Back to the review. Well when I first saw the island, I was amazed at the detail put into it. It seems so natural and just was an island that I never discovered before. I traveled up into Fort Frostmoth. The first people you meet in this fort aren’t very nice. They practically hate you and will not talk to you. You need to buy them some drinks…how lame…well their nords, what can you expect? I traveled outside again and battled with a bear. When it got onto its legs and showed me it’s teeth I just stood there at how good the animation was. Every new creature has AWESOME animations. The only problem with the creatures is the amount of them. They respawn very quickly. After awhile the animals just annoyed me. But if you like hacking and slashing cute wolves and bears, then the wilderness is for you!
Onto sound in Bloodmoon. Rocks. Wow…that was easy! You want to know more I bet? Ok, fine! Well mostly every new character you meet has a voice when you meet them. The number of new voices are simply amazing. They did not lack in this area. I really thank them for doing this. It makes Bloodmoon so much more fun hearing people talk. Also when you walk outside you can hear wolves howling to the moon which creeps you out. It is just another part of Bloodmoon that makes the game a lot cooler! Sorry to say, but there is NO new music. But the first music was good wasn’t it? I liked it ^_^
Armor, weapons, clothes, and a new Nord drink…oh my! The new items are well SWEET! All the new armor which includes some like wolf, bear, ice, and more are very sweet, indeed. The new clothing like a fur set which really makes playing Bloodmoon more realistic. I love to wear these fur clothes when I’m out in the cold, so my character doesn’t get a cold! No, you do NOT catch colds… All in all, the new items will make you want to find them all, which is good time waster.
The um landscape, trees, and forest stuff/things… Like I said in the first paragraph, everything is so well detailed! It looks so natural that I just kiss my monitor. (JOKE!) I just fell in love with the trees, and lets not forget FALLING SNOW!!! The first time you see snow falling you just stop and let your mouth let out this foamy liquid that us gamers like to call DROOL! Also the ice is a must see. Just don’t get caught under a slab of it…long story. All in all, all of the new static and textures for this island are top quality.
The problems…there is some? Yes… First off, what were they thinking with so many creatures? That is one factor of lag with all the creatures spawning. Second, they could have added a little more depth to being a werewolf. Maybe some magic skills that work with the moons, but it is fun being one, but I hoped for a bit more. Third, the people saying there is tons and tons of bugs. Their WRONG! Bloodmoon’s patch fixes mostly all of them. Fourth, still got the crash to desktop…oh well. In the end, there are not that many bugs in Bloodmoon that kills the gameplay. Except the crash bug…
My final message for the review is Bloodmoon is another great expansion which expands the Elder Scrolls world a lot more for us players. Bloodmoon gives the player a lot more hours of exploring this huge new island. If you’re a fan of the Morrowind, I suggest that you buy Bloodmoon as soon as you can. It is worth the 9 out of 10 I give it. I congrats Bethesda for another successful expansion! Now you are giving me the next game free right? Please…I’m a nice clone…
