I've gotten this several times now where I click on a filename/ mod that I wan't to download and then a server to download from, but all I get is this message on the next screen:

"If you do not receive an error, and the page continues to load, please be patient. Your file is being transferred to this server for downloading. "

Well, I let it sit and wait awhile, but nothing seams to be happening. I don't get an error message. It just seems like it's not loading. How long am I suppose to give it before I get the download dialoge box? Would any of my internet security settings have to do with it?
I'm trying to download from tesnexus.com and yes I'm logged in.

Apreciate any help (even if I feel like a newb after this) thanks.

Try a different server, the Texas one is usually the best.

Which file or is it all files?

It doesn't matter wich server I pick. I get the same results. Plus it seems to be with any file over 2MB big.

Well I don't get any errors, but the page doesn't seem to continue to load, or at least the internet traffic icon in my system tray doesn't show any further activity. How long should this "file... being transferred to this server" take before I get the download dialoge box? Or does this have something to do with the fact I'm not a "premium member" of this site?

I'm having problems downloading files larger than 2MB on tesnexus.com. I click on the file to download, I'm takien to a server select sreen. I choose Texas (or any non premium member server) and then I'm given the message to wait while the file is being transferred/ prepared for download. Nothing else happens. I've waited a good 15 minutes on that screen but I don't get any download dialogue box and nothing happens.

What am I missing here?
Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you are not logged in, if you have cookies disabled in your browser you will need to enable them for this site.....when you log in it sets a tracking cookie that shows you are a member and allows you to download. This is not a requirement for files smaller than 2meg, but is for larger files.

Being logged in on the forums is different from the main sites, make sure you log in there as well.

I was logged in and with cookies enabled. Anyway I tried again (logged in and cookies enabled) and clicked on a file to download and let it sit for a good 45 minutes. Still nothing sad.gif

Try a different browser. If using IE, try Firefox (or vise versa)

If this problem spans two different browsers, you need to look at the next level such as firewall or anti-virus software that intercepts HTTP traffic. The next level beyond that would be an actual hardware firewall or proxy server that might be interfering.

It wasn't my firewall, or my anti-virus. It turns out it's my IE security settings. Now which exact setting it is I don't know. But the downloads seem to work when I reset to medium.

Thanks anyway.

When you go to high the security settings, it does not allow the required redirect to the download server.

With an active firewall and virus protection...medium is usually enough to provide you an adequate level of protection.

Another option if you want to run on high security settings, is to use custom level protection with the normal high level settings, but change the file download settings(All disabled on high.) to the following which are the download settings on medium.(And allow the downloads.)

That is true and I did have my downloads enabled, but as buddah was saying, after selecting a server to download from, the site redirects you to the file to be downloaded. Now I just have to find exaclty wich internet security setting it is that is blocking/ stopping the redirection all-together.

As for now, I do have a work around; momentarily adjust my settings to medium/ default and click on the link to start the downlaod, once I'm downloading I just adjust my custom settings to what they were before.

The redirect is javascript, so it's more likely to be a javascript issue.

It turns out I needed to enable META REFRESH; the "Allow META REFRESH" option in internet security settings in Internet Explorer.
