How come the world map in Morrowind and Oblivion are completely different? When you play Morrowind, the land is its own island. Yet in Oblivion, Morrowind is a piece of the Cyrodiil continent. Am I missing something there? Did the map suddenly change in the years between Morrowind and Oblivion?

That is because the games take place on different parts of Tamriel. Let me bring up a map to help explain. Morrowind takes place in Vvardenfell (the large island off of Morrowind) and Oblivion takes place in Cyrodiil
