I was hoping to enlist aid in regard to some mod problems I recently have come across whilst downloading mods from the nexus.
My problem, hopefully, is a simple one.
I recently went about crazy downloading mods and trying them out in my game. My most recent issue was with Montana's sexy companion mod. Montana has been nothing short of stellar in responding to my questions to get the mod up and running - It turned out that my problem had to do with a lack of understanding of .zip files... And let me precurse by saying that if Montana takes a look at this, you absolutely rawk for being patient with me! This is my first real attempt at doing something of this nature, therefore there is a lot that I do not know. Onward to my issue:
My character's eyes are missing.
Originally, I downloaded Ren's Beauty pack and mistakenly put the files in the wrong folders. There were a lot of files... ;-) That being said, I narrowed the problem to that specific mod as when I disabled it, the eyes came back.
Here is my idiot moment.... ready?
I thought that if I manually deleted it from my system, and redownloaded and distributed it properly, everything would be fine. But, uh... no.
I did redownload and load the files, yet the eyes have completely disappeared and now will not come back at all. This rings true regardless of whether I disable the mod or not. They eyes appear to be just gone... sigh?
Perhaps there are some in the community here that can assist this noob? I am at wits end with this issue and don't want to delete everything from the hard drive and start over if I can avoid it. This project, mostly due to my inexperience, has eaten up my entire week to get this far.
Thank you for reading, and thank you muchly if you can help.
ETA:
Please feel free mods to delete this thread, I think this response by bben explains my problem. I didn't find it in my initial searches...

The most common reason for eye problems is having 2 (or more) beauty type mods that change the eyes. Try disabling any mod that improves NPC appearance. NOT just eyes. Then when you get your eyes back, enable them one at a time. When you find which ones conflict, you will have to make a decision on which one you can live without.
If you had installed only one, then tested it, then installed another and tested it you would have caught the problem right away and known which mod caused the problem.

I disabled all beauty mods and they eyes came back. Now working to find which I prefer to leave on...
