I just made a new race and I want to add voices so that my character will make the appropriate noises when hit. Can someone tell me how to do this?

Thanks,

I'm assuming that you want to use sounds already in the game.

Load up the needed *esm files and your custom race *esp file, set the *esp file as the active file.

Under the character options (right above the snap to grid and snap to angle buttons), you'll find an option called dialogue (in the bottom of the drop down menu). That's the one we're gonna use. Clicking it will result in a new window popping up.
In the dialogue edit window, there are a few tabs in the top left corner, labeled different things. The only one important at the moment is the voice tab, so go right ahead and click it.

Under the tab, a list should now have formed, again with several options to choose from. Once again, we're just gonna focus on one; 'hit'.

Just to the right, a whole list of sounds should now appear. What you should pay attention to is those sounds that are named 'health percent' in the Fun/Var 1 section. (You have to scroll down a bit to find them)

When selecting a sound, you'll hear it replayed, and you can see to what race it is associated. All you have to do now, is find the sound file you like to add to your race and you're nearly set. Because, if you just reassign the sound files to your new race, the previous race will fall rather silent.

So you have to make a duplicate of the sound file. Do this by right clicking on the preferred soundfile in the list, and then choose to copy it. A duplicate will then appear right underneath the original soundfile, which you then can assign to your new race.
