Like the title says - I am new. I have only modded fallout 3 and it was very successful. I have tried to install the Body Replacer mod using obmm. I am having NO luck with it working. I see no archive invalidation (if it is anything like fallout 3) and no .esm ....

Not really sure how to get any of this working.

which body mod? there's more than one out there!

Using mods in Oblivion is much more sophisticated than Fallout3. There are many more tools available (coming in Fallout3, I hope)

My first guess, did you install OBMM per the instructions? It is not a mod, but a utility program, and installs differently than a mod.

Then, if the mod is not OMOD ready, it must be installed slightly differently than one that is OMOD ready.

Some of the body replacers have a special install that may be incompatible with the OBMM Omod format. They must be installed per the author's install instructions in the readme that is included.

It may require OBSE (Oblivion Script Extender) to work. OBSE is another utility and must be started prior to Oblivion every time. If you use OBMM to start Oblivion, if OBSE is installed it will automatically start it first.

Now that my guesses as to what might be wrong are used up. If none of this works, give us some more info, in what way does it not work? and a load order list of your other mods might help too.

Once you get passed the learning curve, I'm sure you will like working with mods in Oblivion much more than the current state of mods in Fallout3.

If I am giving an utterly useless answer, forgive me.

I see no archive invalidation

If you are looking for the section of "archive invalidation" in OBMM, press the button "Utilities", and then you will find it. Then, choose "BSA Alteration" and check the file types necessary for the body mod to work, and click "update now".

no .esm

Most of the mods that replace only textures or meshes do not contain an esp nor an esm, so I think you do not need to worry about that.

Pay heed to the advice of both Quistena and Ben, they are very experienced.

Also, like Dezi pointed out: what replacer is that?

I've started with Exnem and then upgraded to HGEC for my female characters, while the male ones use Robert's male body replacer (V4). Also, I use both OBSE and OBMM - so far, no problems.

To me, it sounds like trouble with positioning content down the Data folder structure, but of course I could be wrong. You can use OBMM to check for conflicts as well.

And: if you've got a non-English/national edition, you might have to make some corrections to the folder structure (mostly changing a few names). Of course, you might find that a challenge worth starting the Construction Set for a localized version...
