My character - although I haven't played for a while - is a young nord with long
blond hair (I use
Rhedd's Heads) What inspired me in making such a
character was probably my study of germanic philology and norse mythology
in general. In fact, I at first called him Hildebrand (which is a character who
appears frequently in several germanic tales) and then Hygelac (Beowulf's uncle).
P.S.= You didn't spell inspired wrong, don't worry

I recently started a new character, having tired of my old one. I wanted him to be one of a kind (a unique race), and I saw the Snow Elf race mod on Euro-Morrowind (which is very good might I add).
He is called Eihlas and is based off the Snow Prince from the book "The Fall of the Snow Prince" found in Jolgdier Barrow on Solstheim. There wasn't much information given about him, aside from he weilded "a spear of an unknown magicka" and that he cut down swaths of enemys during the battle of the Moesrings. Eihlas approprietly wields the Spear of the Snow Prince found in the same barrow. And he resides in his newly aquired Castle Karstaag...

How's that, a morrowind character based off of a morowind character...

my character is inspired by Nosferatu... he is an extreemly powerful warrior and godkiller (tribunal mainquest, some fun with vivec). He is also a vampire who sails the seas via Fishing Academy mod and has a host of Vampire slaves, servants, cattle, and mistresses via Vampiric Embrace, a few slave mods and my own Vampiric Lair mod (which will eventually be realeased to the public when It is completely done).

My first long time character was based off Tyr Anasasi from Gene Rodenberry's Andromeda. And Now that I have Morrowind and the CS for the PC, I'm actually going to try to create the Nietzschean race.
My second long time Character Hylen was based off some random idea I had about Thor being a female.
My latest character, Nerissa.....well...she's just a character.

To be honest, Ruroni Kenshin inspired my wood elf "samurai".
I've loved the idea of a kensi, a samurai who relies on nothing but his blade. So I made a character like that and I tried to play the best I could without falling into old habits of grabbing every uber item in the game.
I've got all plain clothing, just your normal everyday commoner clothes, and a katana. Thats it. Unarmored and Long Blade are obviously my main two skills.

I do hate the actual Kenshin show though...lousy trash if ya ask me

2 of my main characters were inspired by things. My Altmer Assassin was inspired by my brother. My brother is really tall and likes to pretend to kill things. My Dark Elf Ninja was inspired by Samurai X. I don't know why I made him a dunmer though.

Hogosha Ookami
Jul 4 2004, 02:16 AM
Okay, i currently have 5 characters I am playing.
Hogosha - (farhtest in game and have had the longest)
A character based on my want to be a hero. His name means gaurdian. He is an archer who never runs. When close range combat acurs he whips out his sword.
Drake - (first magic based character)
Wanted to try some amgic and so i did and i created a megalomaniac. Inspired by the stcuk up high elves (he is a breton though)
(i actauly forgot this ones name) - (kinda new)
Based on my personal martial arts back ground i created a ninja and mage him self serving
Blane - ( a palidin)
I wanted to make an overla good character who does not like to kill so i created a palidin and joined the imperiqal cult. Killing does accur but not that often.
Erick - (dont ask me why)
I created him to be like me. gave him skillz i would have and amazingly he is somewhat balanced. Lil hard to level since he knows so many weapons i have to keep switching to them to get decent leveling. I try to do what i would do and use weapons that i would but i get side tracked by my other characters and froget him.

Kanna Beortricsdottir - supposed to be the daughter of a NWN character. Nord barbarian, played as Viking Bare Sark type. Inspired by all the Nordic tales I've read over the years.
Bare Sark = without armor. It was the ultimate insult to the enemy, showing you had no respect for their weapon skills or fighting ability. On the other hand, it also was the ultimate in showing courage in that you existed only for the attack, and ignored pain, wounds, anything until death or victory. The ONLY way to die is in battle, with a mound of slain enemies around you to present to your Diety as an honor guard to prove your prowess!
Started out with major emphasis on two-handed axes, but somewhere around level 20 discovered the Dai-Katana.

My Character is Called 5Pac after the rapper 2Pac. I chose Redguard because they are black and strong. He is lvl 39 and he is a Warrior. Most of the time i use my powers to open buildings and if i dont then i wander round the Grazelands because the landscape is BEAUTIFUL. Anyway thats my character. Oh and respect the sand Niggas(arabs because I am one!)

My characters all come from whatever books i am currently reading. I was currently reading Terry Brooks(not a huge fan of him, but hes not bad). I got my best character from the series the wheel of time by Robert Jordan.

I get my characters from whatever i feel at the time. If i'm angry, i make an evil character and kill as many peasants as i can get away with. if i'm happy i'll make a character that is probably a mage so i can kill people and blame it on the magic. and of course if i just wanna kill people with ease and no remorse i'll get a fighter who just goes around with the iron sparksword and kills animals while still doing quests and making a living. But thats just the one time-never play again files. If i did want to make a long lasting character my ideas might come from another game or something.

My character was inspired by the awesome mods created by Rhedd. You can download the Rhedd heads through a grouped mod like World of Faces or individually for each race. Then, you just have to play the game.
As for names, I usually borrow monikers from books by either China MievilleOrson Scott Card or William Gibson, since they are the only three writers in the last twenty-five years to have any original thoughts.

My character was inspired by darth maul from starwars. I tried to make a race like the Zabrak from starwars but wanted to make it slightly different. I'm a mage because I just like magical powers.

My characters, were inspired by my GCSE coursework (creative piece).
the first is a young dunmer thief (name: Rufus), i always think of thieves leaping from one building to the next, and sending daggers and poison spells back at guards chasing them. So my thief has weaponry and spells that reflect this.
My Sorceror (name: dro'sha) is also dunmer, though older, "sorceror" always seems to be a powerful word, and therefore those who are powerful should call themselves this. So my sorceror has v. powerful spells. he just stands there blasting everything in sight.
My Archer(name: Vaan) is again, a Dunmer, i always think archers should be well armored, so my Archer has Adamantium armor, and he always uses a crossbow.

My dark elf mage was inspired by the black-robed mage Fistandantilus from the DRAGONLANCE series. He is considered (in the novels)to be the most powerful mage of all time...
My Imperial warrior was also inspired by a DRAGONLANCE character. He is named Tanis (Tanis Half-Elven - from Dragonlance) However he talks on the traits of a different character named Caramon who is an incredibly strong warrior capable of single-handedly combatting an Ogre

I do intend for my next character to be an original creation... well, a character from a novel that I am writing
Lestat_54
Aug 31 2004, 06:33 PM
My character, Lestat, was inspired by lestat from the vampire chronicles. He is a dagoth (6th house mod) and likes to wear exquisite clothes and kill people in backstreets
Dinin
Aug 31 2004, 11:19 PM
My main character (Dinin Massal) is from R.A. Salvatore's books about the dark elf race. Dinin is the brother of Drizzt. His personality isn't really Dinin's personality in the books, my character basically just gets the job done no matter what, he isn't really good or evil.
My other characters i make up the names myself.

I wanted my character to be as much like myself as possible so that I could feel that I was "in" the game- ie- she has my skin color, hair color, build, etc. Her name is also fashioned after my own. So I guess my inspiration was... myself!

My characters have been inspired by names that I think sound cool, with things coming out of my head like what I think would be a good name for a certain race/class (Even though I use only my own classes).

I like to make my characters fit in; just as I chose Hildebrand or Hygelac for my Nord Characters, I choose real Roman names (praenomen - nomen - cognomen) when I pick an Imperial; I'd pick a medioeval-french sounding name for a Breton, and as for the Dunmer, Bosmer, Altmer, Khajit or Argonians, I'd just pick a name like the others in the game. I'd probably even look for a name which means something in their language, and doesn't just "sound right"... but I never played as one of them yet. And as for Redguards... I don't remember what names they use in game, but it'd be common english or maybe african/middle-eastern.
As for their skills and classes... well, I'd just use common sense. Everything has to fit in... I wouldn't play an axe-wielding bosmer, nor an Imperial Barbarian (which would be something close to an oxymoron). If I play a Nord warrior, I choose to use axes, claymores and warhammers; with a Bosmer, I'd go for bows and short blades; with an Altmer, I'd be a magician; with an Imperial, I'd rely on personality more than on brutal force; with a khajit, I'd steal. Different characters mean different styles of playing. What do you think?
