I had Oblivion installed before, with nothing but the latest vanilla oblivion patch. I bought the GOTY edition, and used the second disc to install Nights of the nine and Shivering isles. Do I still need to install the latest shivering isles patch ? because when I try to install it says that the File contents do not match, and stops at 50 percent.

Yes, with my vanilla Oblivion I did have the 1.2.0416 Patch applied. I'm just afraid of the reference bug, so I want to know if the GOTY Shivering isles and Knights of the nine installation has the latest Shivering Isle patch installed.

nope, Patch ReadMe's and Website doesn't mention anything about GOTY Patches or Version.

I have GOTY, Bethesda Technical Support told me over the phone that it shipped pre-patched, not to patch it. (SI) I still had to patch the Oblivion exe though, but some say theirs shipped with the latest already in. I bought mine in september, 07, from a small store where it had probably been on the shelf for a while.

Don't have the Unofficial Patches yet - because the Fileplanet Doesn't allow me to register.

I opted out of using them when I read the documentation on what exactly they changed. But that's just me.
