Me and my friends have been arguing over this for way to long. My vote goes to Led Zeppelin. yours?
Faust_87
I am 16 years of age, 17 this year... and I love Classic Rock!... Lol, and so do all of my friends, and they enjoy hitting me, becuase... I HATE LED ZEPPELIN! They don't understand how I can like Classic Rock, but not Zeppelin. Sure Jimmy Page is an excellent guitarist, and he does some sweet messed up stuff... But my vote has to go to Pink Floyd... You have to respect their history together, what they have gone through together,... the leaving of Syd Barret... The coming of David Gilmour... it was beautiful... bye2.gif

In my eyes, David Gilmour is one of the best guitarists around, so for that reason along, Pink Floyd got my vote

what? no Deep Purple?

Of the three, Floyd is my favorite. However, number one of all time (within the genre of 70's rock) is Frank Zappa. Pure genius. happy.gif

Zappa is great, but me and my friends argue over these three bands, and I want to show them off wink.gif .

(Thanks for helping laugh.gif )

Led Zeppelin. This is not a debatable question.

Where's the option for 'none of the above'? tongue.gif

WHAT?!?! pink floyd is in the lead??? YOU FOOLS! i can hardly recognize pink floyd as a "rock" band.yeah anyways theres my rant.

In my view the best 'rock' music is found in the third act of Wagner's Die Walküre! laugh.gif

I really wish I didn't have to choose between Pink Floyd or Zeppelin. Both of these groups really freakin rocked.

The majority of Pink Floyd is psyhcodelic, which is why its so amazing, fairy few bands are psyhcodelic, which is why they kick ass biggrin.gif

Exactly.

I'm probably going to vote for Led Zeppelin, if only for Stairway to Heaven. It
has been hard for me to decide between them and Pink Floyd, because Pink
Floyd have also made great songs - the whole Dark Side of the Moon album,
for instance, or Shine on you crazy diamond. As for Iron Maiden, I don't
know them as well as I know Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin, but I don't really like
them that much.

Were I to choose another classic rock band besides those in the poll options,
though, my vote would go to Jethro Tull. Even though my all time favourite band
is Queen.

Not really an Iron Maiden fan. I'm a Led fan and will be for the rest of my life, no doubt.
Let me explain. Led tries something new every song. None of their songs really "sound" the same. All of them are enjoyable to listen to in the car, which is where most of my music listening happens.

Now Pink Floyd. I recently "discovered" them for the first time, and think the entire Dark Side album is brilliant. Listening tip: listen to this album at night while you're in bed. It's best in groups of people and bonus points for having little glow-in-the-dark stars on your ceiling.

But, I still say Led Zeppelin is the best rock band, if not the BEST band ever.

it was a hard choice between the three bands you put in your poll. but i had to choice pink floyd because of the three they are the ones who have stuck in my mind the most, even thou i grew-up on all three and was around to liscen to them when thier music was just comeing out.

Misty mountain hop from Led Zeppelin beats everything! pretty rough for those years.. Still love it.
MyDogsTale
Led Zeppelin all the way!!!

ive always been an iron maiden fan, never got into the other two bands you have listed there, so i voted for iron maiden...of course, the odds of them touring australia again?, bah, theyll come up with some stage prop excuse again, it always happens!.

iron maiden could explain why i moved on to the much much much much heavier stuff nowdays, such as Blood Duster (australian band, kinda like metal crossed with punk...well, not their old stuff) and Pungent Stench (old school band, released a album 2 years ago, it has that 1990 feeling in it somewhere.

I voted Pink Floyd. although I have to admit I don't really listen to this style of music so I just voted for the one that I have heard the most music from.
Iluventi
Led Zepp. but only just ahead of Pink Floyd..

Mmm.. Zep..
Ember
Floyd. I like Zep, but they're far too prone to lazy Prog. Those drum solos....
