I have a problem. I'm trying to get a horse mod working with which I can control my horses. I've tried several of them but have been unsuccessful in my attempts. I thought I'd make a final effort by asking here if there is any mod that is working.

I'm basically looking for something so that I can tell my horse to "stop" or "follow". That's it pretty much.

I have the following setup:

- Oblivion
- SI
- KotN (including official horse armor mod)
- Official patch 1.2.416
- obmm, obse, and wrye bash (latest versions)
- OOO 1.33
- KCAS 2.4.1
- LSTR Base + SI + AddOn
- DUI 1.3.1
- Qarl's Harvest 1.1

... and then some minor mods.

This mod will give you a ring. If you wear the ring the horse will follow you. If you take it off, he will stop following. This mod will also allow you to summon your horse. I'm one of those people who always forgot where I park, so i find it very useful.

Sorry, I have already tried it and it won't do: "This version does not work with the new Horse Armor mod from Bethesda."

Any other suggestions?

Working find for me. Running both Knights & the expansion with both official and unofficial updates.


Edit: Yet, I'm not using the horse amour. I see your point.

I just use "Dude Where's My Horse". Horse doesn't follow, but it doesn't matter. Problem solved.

Thanks, but that's not sufficient - and not a problem for me. I know exactly where the horse is. It's just that sometimes I don't want to back track all the way to my horse, but rather have it right next to me. And other times I want it to stay put exactly where I left it.

Any more suggestions?

ever considered making a mod that suits your needs on your own? the scripting language used in the construction set is INCREDIBLY user friendly and pretty simplified. it would be an interesting endeavor on its own and not that difficult to accomplish.

It may be that difficult, because I tried at least 5 different horse management mods myself, and none of them worked well.

To the original poster: Have you tried "Horse Stay Put" yet?

Thanks for the tip, but that functionality is not what I'm looking for. I don't steal horses to begin with.

The problem it seems is finding a mod which lets you control armored horses.

You're pretty smart-mouthed. I don't steal horses either, in over 850 hours, though as a Blade, I did take Martin's horse back to Weynon Priory, and the game decided that was "stealing". Horse Stay Put works on all horses. Even bought horses go back to their stables, and don't "stay put".

So when are you making your mod?

I'm not. If this thread does not bear fruit I'm just gonna have to accept back tracking to my horse when I get off to pick mushrooms.
