I didn't quite know where to post this but since it DOES relate to Oblivion and a mod I'm working on...

Anyway, is there any instances in the lore where the Morag Tong operate in Cyrodiil, or would that not be allowed because of the Dark Brotherhood? The reason I want to use the Morag Tong as opposed to the DB is because the player can become the leader of the DB so to speak and it just wouldn't make sense for what I'm planning. SO! Morag Tong in Cyrodiil, would that work?

If you have the Mehrunes Razor plug in you will find a Morag Tong Assassin in Sundercliffe Village IIRC.

if you let him complete his mission you find him at the "dead dragon inn" also. and there's a campsite with two also in the game

Awesome! I don't own Merhrune's Razor nor did I ever run across the camp. Thanks to both of you, you've really helped me out since having the Dark Brotherhood murder my NPC wouldn't make sense if the player is part of the Black Hand.

your welcome,I just recently released a black hand courtesan weapon and clothing mod(female only), thats what gave me the idea

Some sort of assasins war between Morag Tong and DB would be cool. thumbsup.gif

The Camp with two in the North East of Cyrodiil are members of the Camorra Tong, not the Morag Tong. They are connected to the Orum gang and make weekly deliveries of skooma to, IIRC, Kingscrest Caverns or somewhere close. I'm not quite sure why.

What would Morag Tong even do in Cyrodiil? They are the official, approved assassin guild - something Cyrodiil has no place for. Besides, they are used as a means of war between Morrowind, Dunmer, Houses - who have no authority in Cyrodiil as well. So, why would they be in Cyrodiil? Why not any other assassin guild? Why is the Dark Brotherhood not good enough?

In DLC Mehrune's Razor, Morag Tong assassin went to Cyrodiil for assassinating someone works under some rogue Telvanni mage, if I recall it correctly.

you do recall it correctly!!!
the campsite thing was an error on my part.

One assassin matters quite little, what I said (and as I understood the author) was about establishing the organisation itself on Cyrodiil territory - and I really thought that was clear enough.

Without reading the rest of the thread to see where it's going I'll answer this question directly, and as best as I can without revealing too much about my plans which could potentially ruin the storyline of my mod for some people.

Now, with that said I chose the Morag Tong because it was honestly the only other 'assassination' guild I knew of save for the Dark Brotherhood. Now, as we all know you can join the DB and also become the leader of it. This posed a problem in and of itself because the assassin I'm using in my mod is directly trying to oppose the players efforts (no more prodding will reveal what efforts those are, nor how they are opposed) so it would NOT make any sense for a DB assassin to be opposing the leader of the guild without some superfluous and unnatural twist.

That said, since learning that there were infact Morag Tong assassins in Cyrodiil I've done some more looking and there's nothing preventing a MT to track a target outside of Morrowind and into Cyrodiil (which is what happened in Mehrune's Razor) which fits perfectly into my storyline for my mod.

I'm sorry if there was some confusion before, and after thinking about your post a bit more while writing the above I realized it was possible you had thought I meant creating the entire MT organization within Cyrodiil, which is not the case. Instead, I just wanted to know if a single assassin would track a target outside of Morrowind borders, or if once the target left Morrowind they would be considered 'safe' from the Morag Tong.

I doubt Morag Tong would hesitate to follow an enemy... but once the target is not an enemy but a mere contract, I think they are not supposed to. They are, as you know, official. And Cyrodiil does not tolerate assassins, whoever they target, dark elves or not. So, normal contracts, I think, end outside Morrowind. Well, of course an assassin could try to pursue his target for some reasons, whether simple pride or whatever, but I don't think he's allowed. Enemies, of course, is different business. But enemies are always special for everyone.

Why would Cyrodiil laws matter to them? Easy. This is called "Imperial province" thing, as Morrowind is Cyrodiil's property, currently. So, it's "keep your slaves and assassins if you like, but within your own borders".
