its me asking for my "sprite compagnon" mod again, but this time i decide to give this compagnon unique abilities and skills, see the (a sprite compagnon) request for a picture of the creature !
a compagnon to serve you but not to fight with you insted he would give you much better... read bellow for more on the subject...

- he would be able to collect ingredients in fields and on corpse plus he would be able to collect magic item from corpse ! (maybe lockpick too) if other show interest in that ! maybe we could use a menu giving player lots of option on what to collect, and able to use more then one choice ex : collect only magic stuff + lockpick, or collect lockpick and ingredients whatever...

- he would be able to create potion from a menu if the player ask for that kind of potion, he would only create potion if the the player ask him to do so ! but these potion would be with the regular type of potions, (feather 50 pts 100 pts 150 pts depending on level of the player) you could see that this would be the same for all other type of potion (in store potion) no more "8 sec resist frost and 30 sec nighteye"

HERE IS THE NEVER SEEN FEATURE WHIT THIS COMPAGNON
- he will dissaper when a fight starts but since you fight "for him in a way" he would give you (player) differents bonus (preset bonus) that you could choose from in a menu and change at any time (asuming your not in a fight already)

- in a menu (preset menu) you would be able to ask him to give you a resist magic bonus when u fight
- or a bonus of strenght and agility
- or a bonus of luck and magic skills
- and many more... but only one bonus at the time... and these bonus would grow up as the player level up ! making this feature more realistic !

NOW THATS A NEVER SEEN COMPAGNON ! THIS WOULD BE THE MUST HAVE COMPAGNON...

since this lil compagnon would be so "awsome" i would request a quest to get him to follow you... like saving his life, so he would consider him self a forever servent to show his gratfullness !

i would also appreciate that you let a comment on this unique idea, (i would give a special thank to someone to gave me the idea of making him having more special ability to make him so unique ! thank buddy ! hope you reconize your self...lol

Thee... I'd still hold my opinion in random potioning. Or actually rather scripted one, meaning that the companion could be able to automatically mix a potion if two compatible ingredients found (of course checking the usefulness too, by not creating an infinite amount of restore fatigue potions) and as the the level of the alchemy (and therefore the possibilities of the potions being mixed) skill would be determined by the equipment of the companion (since the possibility of finding better alchemy items seems to be related to the level of the player). However as fun as this might be, it might not always prove useful. However I think that there should be possibility to turn this "feature" off.

And as for the items being collected. I'd also (as said on the first thread regarding the sprite) would like the feature of the sprite enchanting normal weapons by random. This would probably create weapons with destruction, or soultrap spells on the weapons (or apparel), but it may also result in i.e. feather on strike, or healing 50hp on strike (very useful for killing, yup). This would also be a feature that may be annoying, but may bring you occasionally better than good weapons. Probably many wouldn't want this to apply, so maybe there could be a way of stopping it.

Regarding to the last idea, I came to think of that if a creature is capable of creating enchanted items, it is also capable of recharging them (by time of course).

As for the appearance, one option is to use already existing model of will-o-wisp (for starters), as they also are magical creatures and do have a tendency of turning invisible.

A feature that probably should be considered too is the bulk of the entity, and what happens when it is exceeded?

And as these ideas of mine are absurd (and maybe bit humorous), I also in a way wish the partner be balanced, since if it is too useless, it is literally useless and no-one wants it, but as the same way, if it will turn out too good, it won't be too fun to play with it. And as for my ideas, I believe that these could probably be distilled as maybe even a different entity that wouldn't conflict the original ideas. Should them be included in the same mod, I don't know, should they be twins, that is also unclear to me, but I believe that there is lots of potential in both, the more sane, reaper9111 version, and in mine, more random version.

- for tha random enchanting power... i dont know...it would just be too easy to make money whit him producing magic stuff all the time, no ? ... maybe replace that by power of enchanting whit (a few predefine unique effect) that the player would unlock trough leveling up ! and the compagnon would only be able to enchante whit "condition" ex : given him something special, or an amount of something !to balence this ability...

- for the recharge power... i like it...but not base on time, since it s too easy to just wait, it as to be base on something else ...ex : giving him 5 aylied stone (the blue one) in exenge of fully charge all item...this is an exemple only...

- and about the apparence, i dont want to be an a** but its really important for me that the sprite looks like it (pic) from "a to z" no change as the player level up ! this simply becuse my original idea is to have a 3-4 foot height compagnon... and not a will o wips...or anything else... this is a part of the request ! (once again, it not cuse im not open to other 's idea... it only cuse i want him to ba a sprite !)

I actually considered that it would be a problem to rename the items, unless the name stays the same. Maybe same could be applied to the prize too, so the only thing that would change would be the enchantment, giving it maybe a little setback or little punch, depending on the effect, and both the prize, and the name would stay the same.



If it was made time-based, I wonder if it would be possible to make it sort of "play time" effected, so that waiting or sleeping would not advance the recharging. And for idling, I presume the best way to avoid that is to make the weapons recharge VERY slow. However giving hip the Weaklynd (orwhatevertheywere) stones wouldn't be bad idea either, since they seem to be popping from every corner. The only thing with that might be that if I'm not wrong, they will not re-appear, making them impossible to come up with after a long time. One change would be combining both so that in the rime played, the weapons would recharge, but one could boos them by the stones.

This idea gives also one possible limitation to the companion: limited magica. This would actually allow the possibility to make the weapons recharge moderately fast, at the cause of there being only one weapon to recharge, and the other magical features would be decreased. Resulting that if you recharge 2-3 weapons by time, the attribute boosts and other features would be equal to none. This could also maybe be reversed, giving you even more magical aid at the expense of the energy on the enchanted items the sprite (or maybe even you) are carrying.

This lead me to yet another idea. If it would be possible for the sprite to enchant a normal weapon for one strike, occasionally. However making this work would probably mean it had to work bit like the Dawnfang/Duskfang from the Shivering Isles, so the enchantment would probably be applied only for the initial strike as 1 strike weapon, and change back when holstered. However working with this would affect the hotkey bindings. Therefore the better option would be a few select green potions, that would use themselves as they are created to the inventory by the spell of the sprite (and definitely would bypass the "would you like to poison" dialog).



For this I actually meant that the features could be easy to work on vanilla textures & meshes (without needing to worry about the final), and finally when the features are ready and tested (and believe me, the will-o-wisp looks far better than a translucent yellow block that has exclamation mark in it), the textures would be added for the true appearance (or maybe the appearance may be worked by a different modder). This would bring out the best result, since the modder wouldn't have to simultaneously work on both, the textures and the features, but could be able to concentrate on either at time.

It sounds like this guy you want will be like a leprachan. Not look like one, but act like one. Could be cool. I've seen whepons that have you make a certain number of hits (Duskfang), maybe your time problem could be solved by counting something that most people do. Like riding a horse, killing people/monsters, going to altars. that kind of thing. and count the number of times people do it so the little companion will do his thing.

Just my 2 cents.

I actually meant that it would bypass the question the player is asked while clicking on the green potion, since if the action would be same as clicked on potion, then the player could choose the "no" option and gain a poison bottle without any rational explanation. However if it is possible to just spawn the effect on the weapon, it would make things easier.

Anyways, it could be best if there could be possibility to count seconds played (I wonder if there already is a playtime -counter in the game), since we would like it to be more or less time based. Unless it would count "failed" soultrap (one doesn't have large enough soulgem) kills, that would give it a reason to gain magical energy. But that would be rather different element (I wonder which would be better).

dont know for the play time counter, that recharging restriction are getting a pain, if only we could get other ppl idea... i dont know man, if its too complicated, will put it every 3 days and hope player wont always use the wait option, i mean if u wait for a reason, ok !, but not only to gain the recharge power of the sprite !... i dont know...

for the poison thing, added automaticly, i dont realy like it since you dont have control over that...(and since its a gift from the sprite) ...but in a way, it would make a lil bit of randomness in the mod !...so, in a way, it could be nice...

Well, if it would be possible to add amount x in y seconds while in fps mode (maybe the sprite should be casting a spell to do this by time delay, This would also mean that it wouldn't recharge while sneaking, since the spell-casting makes it easier to be noticed) to the enchanted item(s), the only "problem" would be the "time changing" (the game second is by default 0.3 seconds, if I remember correctly), that would affect in "how many days" would an item be recharged, but that, I assume, is more or less trivial, since the time-flow is changed by a console code. As for the waiting, I wouldn't want people to "wait to recharge", but then again, the same thing is used to gain health (Although I usually drink 4 Ale's and pass out for that, since it's far more fun that way... and requires the access the alcohol ). Those people willing to cheat would probably also use some mod to neutralize the loss of charge.



Well, the frequency and the rulers of the gift being given may be defined. For example, if you are too infamous for his opinion, then the sprite may give you an arrow with "restore 250hp on strike" (okay, infamy may not be the right variable, but something that defines how much the sprite likes you), and if you're fighting a gang of enemies and are on lower hand, he may give you a paralyzing blast of, say, 2 seconds for you to escape the mob.

And actually I was talking about the concrete enchantments on my first post on the topic, and that was (as seen) just for fun. However, if we want to remove the random factor, we can actually create some bases, amongst the vanilla stats, that will define how much the companion respects you.

-to make it simple, why not give the player a menu where he could preset what items the sprite would collect this menu would include the choice of collecting more then one type of item using tick menu !
- weapons (alls type)
- magic weapons (alls type)
- armors (all types)
- magic armors (alls type)
- clothes (alls type)
- magic clothes (alls type)
- potions (poisons and potions)
- ingredients (alls type includind creatures remain)
- alchemy aparels (pestal and mortar ext)
- stones and gems (ruby and weylked stone, varla stone, soul gems, gold and silver nuggets)
- lock pick
- books (all type or only skill book)
- magic scrolls (alls type)
so whit this features we would be able to click what we want him to collect ! bob remind me if theres something that we discuss that i forget !

EDIT : woh, scatch that... it would make no cense, he's not hercule...he would be "full" all the time...so let keep our first idea ingredients and lockpicks ! maybe varla stone...lol yeah, it make sence now !

Well, actually, for starters it would be easiest to make it collect ingredients, after that looting chests an bodies etc. before letting the player decide what to pick (for the sake of starting with the easiest, and closing step by step to the final).

How to solve the problem of it getting too much stuff... well, maybe it should drop the oldest, newest, heaviest, or the most worthless item until it is not over encumbered anymore. This might bring in a new feature of it not actaly have a "companion share", but a set of options what it can give you, and what it can hold for you, therefore if it was ever to do anything with the stuff it loots, the only way to get those things would be to encumber it

yeah but having him droping stuff here and there will dirty our world, i mean we'll see piles of stuff everywhere in the result of him been able to drop stuff when overencombred... and since my original idea was him collecting only ingredients to always have a back up of, all the time and everywhere... i dont know...like you said maybe make it the simpliest would be the best ! Yeah, the simplest is the best. Let's asume that the "fairy" as a magical beaing has some power that let her teleport the items she picks up into a hidden stash .
