Oy- we had a Cinco de Mayo party in my Spanish Class. Pathetic, really. We had (very American) chips, salsa and burritos. At 8.05. It was a sad blow to such a holiday.
Anyway, Feliz Cinco de Mayo!
For those of you who do not know what this is [COUGH]Wesay![/COUGH], here is a site that explains it.

I had a cinco de mayo party at school too. My spanish teacher married a Mexican though so it was more authentic. They buy mexican foods. it was fun. Cmac sorry for your disappointment with your party.

I know what it is! My Spanish teachers have been so obsessed with Latino culture since the fifth grade, it'd be treason not to know it.

Cinco de Mayo is the day that the Mexican people celebrate their independence. They didn't gain independence then, just when they celebrate it. (Like american's July Foruth)
