I'm not American. Though I do thank all US and British Soldiers for their time they spend in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Freedom is something everybody is fighting for.



But for the last 2 years, I've been asking myself..

Are they truely fighting for freedom?
Are they fighting for their country?
Are they making the ultimate sacrifice of putting their life on the line?
or just fighting for oil.


No matter what the case maybe. God Bless all of them

always question the governments reasons,but these young people of all nations are fighting and dieing for something they believe in,and thats honorable!

Aye, neither am I... And a little known fact to many, The Irish Guards and The Royal Irish Regiment, are also there..and were there in Afghanistan also..as many countries that do not get mentioned who also are fighting and dying there..

I know I feel the same way at times..la..
When war comes to your doorsteps, or one invades your country, freedom must be fought for, but on the other hand, I also know war, is a terrible thing, especially when the reason it was started is questionable..

Do I salute those brave men and womyn who go, aye, for its their choice, do I personally believe that this war in Iraq like the Vietnam war, was a justifiable war,I have many doubts and conflicts.. many are dying, but for what...I do not believe in wars, that are brought to a country, for possibly dubious reasons,under the guise of another reason, only the defence of ones own country...

Yet for those who live and die, and fight for freedom, and the defeat of terrorists, worldwide, bravo..
As one who has herself fought here for ours,sometimes its the only choice left..

I thought Obama was going to start pulling troops out of the conflict, but according to the Sydney morning herald here in Australia he has just asked us for more troops.

From a 60s antiwar peacenik: it was never against the kids who were sent to where they didnt want to be, for the most part. Nor is it now. Just wish the scumbag pols could be trusted to spend these young lives honourably. As honourably, and as trusting, and as bravely, as these young kids give them. My father served in the USMC back in Vietnam. He was either a Master Sargent or Sargent Major I can't remember. While I salute all those that have served in this country and others I blame the government for all the f*cked up sh*t that goes through my dads head. It's for that reason that I disagree with war of any kind. It's my belief that the human mind was not designed to take the emotional abuse of war.

Obama has just been elected, he does not take over until January 20th. So Obama could not have asked for more troops. Don't believe everything the newspaper prints and Don't expect instant change. If he manages to accomplish one tenth of what he actually promised I will be amazed. And he did not promise to remove any US troops instantly. Give the man some time.

World changes, boundaries changes, must be a reason almost all US south have Spanish names. My own nation would be vertically cut at much more than half if treatises were to be relied.
