well DLC there both very good and i think it may be hard to work with a painted pic but any way yeah u can cut off the wings but lave the black connector from the body to wings plz it just looks so cool and have the text overlap the image also do what ever you think would make it look better

and for the text font idk if this is too much to ask for but for #1 i would like the font to be http://www.dafont.com/evanescence.font

and for #2 i would like the top font to be http://www.dafont.com/cold-night-for-alligators.font and the bottom to be http://www.dafont.com/the-king-queen-font.font

for #1 idk if you used the font that i want but i want the E and the L to be the olny letters caplitized plz

@Lueth, I'll work on those, I've used the font you requested for #1 a lot on my own previous sigs.(Also, it wasn't all caps, the font simply looks like that.)

You'll see these pieces done later in the evening.

hm... I can't think of much. The background looks simple but I think for this, simple would look the best. Maybe tint the render ever so slightly blue?

The sig looks great so far. But were it says paladin could you possibly change to Deus Ultima? And that trouble with the eye I could possibly provide an image would that be ok?

I'm working on it, the text was rather 'blank' due to me suffering from heavy pain in the back atm. Don't really know why, but it's been like this for the past two days and it really starts to affect what I'm doing.(Can't get an doctors appointment before monday.)

Done and this time I'm quite happy with how it looks, thanks for the eye picture btw, it really helped. Two sigs with slightly different transparency and filter settings.

I'd say making a sig out of that is easy, changing the background however is another story when you consider that the knight is already blended into the original background, it is possible, but I'm not so sure about how good it would look.

If you're talking about how to make it look like that; You use the original knight picture and get a background that looks like what you want, once you have that, you start blending them in with transparency settings and 'smudge stick'(Not the best tool for the job, but if used correctly the results look similar.) for example to get a bit more seamless outcome, it does blend lines between background and wanted picture, however the results are sometiems good. Re-mastering the picture becomes a near impossible situation for anyone without the original document with separated layers though.(I mean with the outcome looking good. There would most likely be parts of the old background visible no matter what you tried.)

Also about photoshop; I advice you to stick with GIMP unless you really have the cash to buy photoshop or you're aiming to become a pro.

edit; On that note, I always move the unaccepted drafts to a different album so I may view them later, but they will be hidden from public. So if you ever need/want to see them again, just ask me for a link.

Yes. Right click on the image, go to properties, and you should see a URL. Copy that and put it between the IMG tags.

Edit: And that will go into my gallery later.(my photobucket account is, well, slow for me. So, I guess I'll stick with my DeviantART gallery.) It's currently uploaded on an old forum of mine.

I use Planet Renders to get mine, but as for backgrounds, I add effects to pictures I took. I don't know of any sites, though. Sorry.

I've used google a few times but you do need to be specific of what you're looking for, yet keeping the key words(eg. sky wallpaper, this can vary anything from a game to a specific scene.) simple. Basically you should keep an eye on sites with good looking wallpapers to use as backgrounds, you've most likely used a few sites when getting your own desktop background.

I do the same as Sniperwhere a lot though. It's amazing how good looking pictures you can get by adding simple effects or filters to the sig.

Just to clarify this common mistake, Photoshop is no easier to use than GIMP. They're both complicated programs, and they both require time to learn. I know this because i have both.

Though i used GIMP for a year before i got photoshop, so I'm better with that. Thus I make my sigs with it.

If you want, i can provide a good amount of tutrials for GIMP(and photoshop, as well).

Sniperw. is right on the point.(Got myself both aswell, I'm better with photoshop tho. Photoshop has a easier to use layer management interface and several other goodies, but if it hurts your budget/you're not aiming pro, it's not worth it.) It took me a few months of time to learn all that I'm able to do with it now along with my schoolwork. Like everything else, this takes time to become good at and I still consider myself mediocre, got lots of room to improve.

Heh, just checked out a few rendering sites, but I still prefer to do my own rendering work. I've never liked using other people's render work, or any work for that matter due to copyrights/watermarking etc. It's far easier if I simply build my work from scratch.

Sorry I meant to say Planet Renders......And to tell the truth I'm so new to this stuff that those simple little things like effects and filters don't seem to come out right.

I found that Deviant Art is a good site to get new stuff for my GIMP program....Although I've been wondering if there are any better sites for that kind of thing?

You could also check out some gaming/anime etc. fansites for good wallpapers. They tend to have a several good ones hidden in them. Deviant Art is always a good spot to start, although I think the best pieces are watermarked.

What I meant to say was if you guys knew of any better site than DA for things like brushes and filters and stuff like that.

Ahh, I still haven't needed any additional ones than the basics I got with photoshop, so I haven't downloaded any addons apart from dds exporter.(Needed for Oblivion texture editing in photoshop.)

On that note, I just created myself a winter themed sig;


Self rendered the pic of Asuka and added to a photo I took in the winter. Now I still need to play with the font and filters.

Font and filters done. Just came from meeting my school nurse about my back, I'll need to rest with it a bit, but it should be fine in a few days.

I just noted that Tifa's hair doesn't seem to like the Bahamut background as the color gets a bit dull with otherwise identical settings between the two versions. This also reminded me about Sephiroth's hair that could use a total makeover(Looks horrible on the Bahamut background to be honest.), however with the way the hairstrands are painted, it'll be a pain to get it fit red background perfectly. Also Tifa seems unproportionally larger than Sephiroth which makes me want to look for a new picture of him and do it completely over, hopefulyl avoiding the hair issue at the same time.

edit; I managed to improve Seph's hair texture quite a bit by adding a few layers and several filters, but it still isn't 100% perfect. Going to upload it later once photobucket site maintenance is over. Uploaded and swapped the image. Still needs tweaking though. I'm going to look for another shot of Sephiroth to see if I could render it better. Already got a few good ideas.

edit2; Found a good new shot, starting to work on it. This should also be a lot better looking with the hair.

The photoshop comments were mainly meant towards Lueth who was thinking about getting it. I paid 750€ for my Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended and now with Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended out, I'll prolly need to buy the upgrade package at 486.78€. Now to make my point; Unless you're aiming to become a pro like I am, this is not worth it and honestly saying, I'm still doubting whether or not this is worth it even for me. I'm going to wait for a few customer reviews on this to see if I'll order it straight away, wait for the prices to come down a bit or just skip this over and wait for CS5. Also testing the trial version currently to see if this is a necessity once I learn how to perfectly use the new features.

Mine is just a hobby.........And I was refering(SP?) to your saying you only used the basic Brushes and Filters on your Photoshop program.....hence I use Gimp and couldn't afford Photoshop even if I wanted it.
