::ehem::OOC: ya, um... ok sorry about the frequent. er um... non-frequent postageness, but i've been real busy doing other stuff(which i will not mention at the moment). So.... here it is, a post!
IC(that's right): Kar finds himself walking quickly through the streets of town. He turns and looks back only once, towards his training school. Last night there was another attempt at assassination(the third just this month) by a rivaling swordsmanship of his father's. They were after the the money Kar had inherited from his father, and the Blood Whym, the family sword. He always took them out easily with the sword they were after, but they seemed to be attacking more frequent lately. He stopped to think, but quickly shrugged the thought off, and continued through the streets, with no real destination.

Well, is this going to continue? Or would you rather I had a moderator lock this and let it sink into the oblivion of the achives?
I don't think my creative juices are flowing the right way with this one, if you all want to stop because of the lack of developed plot, you have my leave to do so. Let me know and I will see to it that there is not another Shadow of the Fallen RPG until I have a complete idea that I can run with.

ooc: no, the only reason things are going slowely is that I don't think there are enough playery or not all of them are posting plus I am running out of ideas with the whole pirate thing, so I am making a change IC, and just for laughs if you find it funny I stumbled upon my sign up sheet for this RP and saw that my name is Jone, not Jaun... the Jamacan or australian or wherever jaun came from.
IC: Jone opened his mouth to address the man that Julius had pointed out when the tavern doors burst open, a haggard man was in the doorway. "Hey, Thats Jone! a damned pirate who radied my ship up north, Jone stutters as all heads turn towards him, with an inconspicous motion (at first) he draws the longsword from the unseen sheath on his back, hidden in furs. he runs at the newcommer and thrusts the blade through his gut with an upward angle, the blade exiting in the upper back. Jone withdrew and ran panicked out the door after whispering these words in the mans ear: "I should have killed you as you swam for land you old fool, I thought you would freeze."

OOC: LOL!! The easiest way to break a plot, START A BIG PUNCH-UP!!!!
IC:
Julius was stunned for a moment by Jone's actions but quickly regained his self-control. Julius watched as his new 'friend' was chased outside into a corner and leapt at by burly-looking sailors. Although knowing that he should avoid the confrontation, or at least help the majority, Julius ignored his instincts (OOC: mainly because he doesn't want to start a PvP) and punched the nearest sailor in the nose. The man collapsed as blood gushed out from his broken nose and Julius waded into the fight as he had so often done in the distant lands of the East.
However, the thrill of a fight began to overcome Julius. No longer content with merely helping his friend with his fists, he drew his broadsword and hacked the arm of a nearby sailor. Meanwhile, the sailor that Julius had pointed out earlier, who had managed to keep out of the fight, drew a shining silver dagger and crept towards the fight with a frown on his face.
He stepped closer to the flailing, blood-covered - his own blood as well as the blood of others - figure of Julius and raised high his dagger. Julius turned just in time to see the sailor thrust the dagger deep into another sailor's skull who had just been about to stab Julius through the chest. This new ally drew his cutlass and slashes his way to Julius and began to speak while parrying and slashing at the sailors all around them.
OOC: maybe this is a bit extreme but hey, u said this was getting boring

The fight built up, the tension groeing and building up, at last only one man stood between Jone and the docks... his head rolled down the shallow slope into the surf. At the mans death Jone pushed the still standing decapitated body to the side and ran towards a small fishing boat, cutting the ropes and jumping aboard Jone rushes into the small yurt like indoor section of the boat, where a small fisherman lie petrified, probobly curled up in here since the 2nd or third splash of blood Jone thought. He picked the small and feeble old man up and tossed him into the surf below fairly gently as the man was completely innocent. Jone braced his feet on the dock, clasping the side of the boat with his hands and pushed off as Julius and another man ran up the dock toward him. Jone pointed out a nearby fishermans boat silently. A band of Gaurds was now rushing down from the main road of Everend.
ooc: now, didn't we excite things a little bit?

OOC: Well? Spit it out, come on, i don't want to suddenly randomly die because you forgot to tell me something. But i'll risk it neway. Also MDRud, u decided that my sailor who 'began to speak' doesn't actually say nething....okey dokey then...
IC:
Julius watched as the troop of guards charged towards him. He caught Jone's eye and he saw that Jone indicated to him a small fisherman's boat tied up nearby. Julius grabbed the sailor that had helped by the elbow and threw him onto the boat. He was about to follow when a guard leapt on his back and tackled him to the ground. Julius punched the guard's face but realised too late that he was wearing a full-faced helmet. Julius shouted in pain as his fist connected with the hard steel helmet and, angered by his pain, hacked off the guard's head with his broadsword and made a dive for the boat. The sailor had already untied the boat and he punted them out to sea, after Jone's boat.
(OOC: OK MDRud----> CONCENTRATE-->)
He turned to face Julius and opened his mouth to speak to him.
(OOC: would u plz do the honours of introducing this guy or you could do it Shadow, it gives u something to do)

Jun 8 2004, 03:55 PM
OOC: I guess....but forget it, i'll introduce him.
IC:
"My name is Myropnous" he said, "I spotted you in the bar and recognised your face from a poster"
Julius stared at him, "You mean the WANTED poster" he asked cautiously.
"Yes, the WANTED poster" replied Myropnous, quickly adding, "But i don't intend to turn you in, I am wanted myself. I was the deputy of of the Fort Commander over at Fort...um, that doesn't matter"
Julius, was curious about the Myropnous's history and insisted that he tell him but Myropnous refused and became increasingly agitated. Julius saw that he would get nowhere so he stopped pressing Myropnous for information.
Their boat was close enough to Jone's boat now for them to be able to see the sedentary figure of Jone on his boat. Julius stood up and shouted to him.

Jun 10 2004, 03:25 AM
Jone's boat was now around 40 feet from the end of the docks, and he watched the Gaurds running back and forth on the shore in confusion. After hearing Julius' callhe stands and looks over his shoulder, the ither boat was coming in close to his now, using the very last of its momentum from the push off the dock to glide along the water. Its spead suggested that it only barely had the force left to reach his own boat. Jone's own boat was large enough for about four people, and he nodded for Julius and the other sailor to abandon their own boat. "Hurry now, get off.. there are not enough oars for two boats, and until the wind kicks up we won't be going very fast eithout them." Julius jumps over along with the sailor.
Before either can say a word Jone picks up a heavy anchor, his arm straining and 'throws' it into the other boat. It lands hard and the sound of cracking planks echoes out over the coastal area. water begins to fill the boat, and by the time the three had left Everend behind it was settled on the sea floor. "What was it now, that you wanted to say Julius?"
ooc: sorry I controlled your character, it was a minor action and I just wanted to hurry

OOC: np, i would have just had him do exactly the same thing neway
IC:
"Jone, this is Myropnous. He was an Imperial soldier like myself. He's wanted as well by the guards. He's here to help."
Myropnous eyes Jone suspiciously before shaking his hand and smilingly whispering to Jone through gritted teeth, "I recognise you..."
Jone, after staring at Jone for a few more seconds, suddenly stood up straight and his smile disappeared.
"Julius, this man already knows my name. He probably has something to tell you, or i could tell you, we have a history you see..."
OOC: Since he's an NPC, u can control him too but be sensible...

Looking Myroponous up and down Jone says: "I am sorry, I do not recognize you... unless of course you were a sailor? In that case I may have raided you once or twice. Am I close?" Jone released a bit of sarcasm on his last sentence. As the man did seem slightly familiar, but he kept that to himself.

OOC: I know I've been sucking as a DM, and you have my apologies.. However, you do seem to be doing well on your own.
Unfortunatly, I will be infrequent on the forums for a while... My computer has *cough* run into some difficulty. Namly, it has so much crap on the RAM before it even starts up windows that windows can't load.. Think 750 page file lookup and using 467mb of 512... It isn't pretty.
Anyway, I will hopefully have that fixed within the week, whatever must be done, and I will be able to watch more closly and guide you to a forming quest..

Jone put an arm around myropnous' shoulder and turned him away from Julius. Whispering quietly he says: "listen, either we forget about our past and work together now," he paused as if to asses myropnous' expression then continued, "or i kill you, right here, right now. What do you say?" After the last intimidating question he glances over his shoulder at the impatient looking Julius.

Shadow of the Fallen
Jul 15 2004, 04:25 PM
A chill shuddered down your spine and the hairs on the back of your neck began to bristle as the sudden, subconcious realization that something was wrong drifted over you. Quickly, you glanced around, seeing that your new comrads were doing the same, though you noticed nothing out of the ordinary. Just the open sea!..
Open sea! Where was the land?! Where were the lights?! A violent rush of fear gripped you with the thought of being stuck in the ocean forever. The blood ran from your face and adrenaline began to build up in your system. What were you going to do now? You're stuck in the middle of an ocean with only one paddle and foor enough for the night. Tomorow you would be hungry, and the day after.. And the day after that..
-------------------------------
Snoring invaded the morning, its obnoxious sound echoing from the beach, sending crabs and small animals running for their burrows while adventurous seagulls decided to investigate. They landed on the rim of a small wooden lifeboat, watching its noisy contents as they slept. All three of them repeatedly produced the annoying sound that had them so preoccupied, they were so busy sleeping off the worries of the night before that they hadn't realised it when they'd grounded themselves on the beach and instead fell asleep still fearing that they would be lost forever.
Soon, they would wake up and realise that their previous fears had been foolish. Perhaps it would be with a start that they woke, for the birds still loomed ominously above them.
And something darker loomed before them.

Jone suddenly stirred and threw himself foreward as if to lift himself from his troubling dreams. The fear of his nightmare faded quickly as the cool breeze met his face and he turned to see his two companions snoring near him... Soon he shifted his gaze inland, seeing <insert landscape shadow>. It seemed strange to him, ominous in fact, another troubling fact was that he could not remember what had happened to land him here, without a ship.
Again he turned, this time to face the sea, scanning in vain for the ship. After sitting for a moment with his face in his hands Jone reached over into the pebbly sand and drew out a handfull, which he tossed in the faces of the two men, waking them both quite suddenly.
"Wake up, weve grounded."
Shadow of the Fallen
Jul 20 2004, 01:19 AM
OOC: Lol, who sent for a wake up call?
IC: You're on a beach, the front of the boat pointing out to sea. Behind you, away from the ocean the sandy shoreline ends abruptly about 50 yards from where you are sitting. To either side, the ocean, beach, and forest stretch as far as the eye can see, making it difficult to tell if you've hit the main land or an island, though the weather is slightly warmer.
Actually, the surroundings seem rather pleasent considering the circumstances, but something seems out of place. Its hard to put your finger on at the moment, but it puts you on edge..

Julius awoke, his face in the sand. He wearily turned himself onto his back and coughed and spluttered. Myropnous was lying some way up the beach and he could see Jone up and about on the other side.
Julius lay there for some time before managing to gather the strength to get up. "Jone" he called out, "Where are we? What happened?"

Jul 21 2004, 03:33 AM
"I don't know," he replies, looking about from his place inside the boat as if to suddenly find an answer in the distance. "We must have drifted south, I am not familiar with these waters."
Jone got to his feet and began to stroll up the beach, after a time he turned inland as if giving up the walk. Before he plunged into the woods he turned back to see if his cmpanions were following.

OOC: Lord of the Flies..lol
IC:
Julius hastily dragged Myropnous to his feet and almost dragged the semi-conscious man to follow after Jone. They entered the wood and walke slowly throught it. Myropnous stood up straight and half-eaten fruit fell on him. The monkeys in the canopies of the trees obviously did not welcome these three strange creatures arrived fresh from the sea. Julius looked around and picked some of the fruit on the trees, and throwing some to Jone and Myropnous, began to eat.

While Jone's prediction on having drifted south seemed likely at morning, the icy blasts of wind that ripped through the forest at midday told you otherwise. Most of the trees were pine, with a few others scattered at random intervals. The shrubbery was sparse, though a thick blanked of pine needles almost gave the impression of grass. Several times, you were forced to stop and sit from exaustion from the almost unnatural cold.. And those times huddled together on the forest floor were not the most comfortable.
It was perhaps two hours after high noon when you came to a small cottage; run down, but homey looking. It was nestled comfortably into the cleft of a large mass of stone, worn smooth with age. At a glance, the rock almost looked as though it had once been at the base of a mountian, but the mountain had been cut away, and all but this little section and the house it sheltered had dissapeared from the world.
Scattered about a small clearing at the front of the yard were various farm tools and random items that had somehow survived some great amount of years. Roots and vines had gathered with the pineneedles, and threatened to choke the life from the yard like clearing. They also ran up the sides of an old stone well, nearly trasforming the brick and mortar into a solid green carpet of vegetation.
No one seemed to be home, and it didn't look like anyone was coming back... And it was getting dreadfully cold outside.

Jone steps up three aged stone steps and to the front of a rotten wood door, only three vertical boards were left, held together by moss covered horizontals, allowing Jone to see inside... before attempting to open the door he draws his sword, always quick to be aggresive like ussual. he turns to Julious: "I have a feeling something else has already had the same idea that i have right now... to stay here for a while"
Shadow of the Fallen
Aug 5 2004, 12:28 AM
The building, on the inside, was as discarded and devoid of life as the outside. Light streamed in from a broken window on the left side of the entryway, opposite the giant rock. To the right, against the wall, was a wooden staircase that lead up to the second floor. The rest of the room was in dissarray, as though someone had been hastily searching for something long ago. Random objects were strewn and broken across the floor; glassware, books, decorations, and funiture among other things lay haphazardly on their sides or even upside down in the chaos. Here and there, cracks in the floor had allowed the roots and vines to find purchase on the hardwood planks.
Yet with all the confusion, nothing seemed to have been disturbed recently.
