I want to buy a .net domain for my site, but I don't know any sites that are actually going to be easy to use, or work. Can someone suggest one?

Hmmm... the main thing you'd be paying for is the server to host the site. Registration of a domain name is usually cheap (mine costs about US$10/year), but I pay my buddy who owns the server an additional $40/year for hosting it (it doesn't see much traffic).

If you go with a commercial hosting source, check your contract carefully... if you wind up becoming an Internet Sensation (example, ZeFrank's "How To Dance Properly" or JibJab's "This Land") and your site suddenly starts getting megahits, you could unexpectedly find yourself owing some serious money to your Host. (I think ZeFrank's story had him suddenly owing his Host around $30,000 due to the sudden, worldwide attention and bandwidth spike, and required some heavy renegotiation to settle the issue, and JibJab's sudden attention nearly burned out their servers.)

Good luck!

I found one. 1&1.com.

6.99$ a year for a new URL. So far, it's still being set up, but it's worked.

Hopefully this topic isn't too old for a reply. If you're looking for simple, you might try doteasy.com. It's where I have my own site registered. They may still be running a special for new domains, but if not their basic package is $25 for a domain and basic hosting.

Actually, you are late. I canceled getting the domain as my site will be becoming the forums of a site with a similar genre.
