Well, I'm new to this whole Oblivion Modding thing, and I've run into a problem. I've downloaded several mods and have tried to install them all, I got most of them working, but the main problem is that character speech doesn't actually make any sounds. I believe it's a problem with the 'Sound' folders, as there are four, and I can't have the same named folder several times, so I changed the names to 'Sounds2' and whatnot. I just want to know if this is a problem, and if so, how to remedy it.

You shouldn't be renaming folders and creating new folders. When you open a downloaded mod in WinRAR, the file structure should be intact (unlike WinZip), so simply drop the files into the Oblivion data folder. Sometimes the creator includes the data folder inside the file structure, if this is the case, simply drag over the data folder into your Oblivion folder.

If you have sound1, sound2, sound3 etc, put all the files into the sound folder.

Changing the names can definitely be a problem. Oblivion looks for its sounds in the \data\sound folder. if they are anywhere else or have a different name it will not find them.

Try renaming all to their original names, then if you can figure out which is the original, copy the other into it. Many mods add another folder inside the sound folder. A quick check of mine showed the following sub folders

\fx
\voice

and several sub folders under each.
