I recommend you Noob to Pro tutorial for Blender and you need Nifskope to set the textures for the object ... and maybe the animations biggrin.gif

After you're a bit more comfortable with Blender (or not. It does tell you what you need to know), you might take a look at Blender/Custom Cuirass. I tried it and failed... sweat.gif

it is nifskope not Nifscope thumbsup.gif
and if you want make new armor cloth you need nifskope
download here Blender 2.46, Python 2.5.2, Blender NIF Scripts 2.3.3, NifSkope 1.0.10, PyFFI 0.10.9 http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12248

I'd use Blender 2.48 (currently beta). It does work with NIF scripts 2.3.9 and it has some very nice features for the armor/clothing modeler (shrinkwrap in particular).

As the writer of the custom cuirass tutorial above, which many people seem to have trouble following (possibly because they haven't seen the updated version on the Modeling and Texturing WIki), I'm generally available to give help one-on-one via PM or email.
