Are there ways to get obmm to work with vista? In the obmm faq it said to run all exe files in the data files folder as administrator. Went looking for the exe files to change, but didnt see any?? Is there anyone out there that knows about this stuff? Btw, reinstalling in a different folder isnt an option right now.

Thanks

Setting "Run As administrator" on the shortcuts in the Start Menu is enough for the 64-bit editions of Vista, so it should be sufficient for 32-bit as well.

By the way, if you can't see executable files, because they're considered system files, and you've never switched the option to show hidden files.

Huge annoyance, no one touches my PCs but me, so frankly I switch that option on receipt of a new PC.

For the more wary, you might see this discussion:

Tip: if you read the entire blog, you might learn something new. Like it works for Vista too.

Another approach is to go to the control panel -- users and DISABLE the User Access Control.

It does increase the risk of a virus being able to change your program files, but allows you to change them.

In the future, try to avoid loading programs you'll want to mod in the Programs tree, and it won't be a problem.

Yes, I had the same problem.

I use Vista Home Premium x64 and OBMM runs fine for me, I didn't have to do anything to get it working. I have User Account Control off.

Turning off user account control always helps.I can run it fine on vista thumbsup.gif just follow the instructions on how to install on it.Hope this helps, otherwise i want to do the best i can to help you.

Thanks for all the advice guys. Got it going. Now if I could just get obse to work HA! Seems like many of the really cool mods depend on it.
