Unfortunately it seems that the "few spoiling it for the many" once again applies to TESNexus, this time in regards to the Image Share section of the site. Certain users of the site have been deliberately rating their own images high and other users's images low with multiple accounts in order to skew the top 25 images and/or persue personal vendettas against other members of the site.

First of all having multiple accounts on TESNexus is not allowed and in most cases will mean all accounts will be banned from the site entirely. Secondly deliberately rating your own or other user's images high or low in order to try and fiddle the top 25 to your liking is not only pathetic, but bannable. It stands against everything this site and community is about. People who want to partake in these actions are not welcome here. Thirdly, people taking it upon themselves to try and get revenge against these pathetic individuals are also not welcome here. We have strict rules against vigilantism and the saying goes "our way, or the high way".

If you don't like how we work then please just leave and don't look back. If you think things need changing then leave a respectable message on the forums and wait and see; if you don't get your way it isn't your right to try and screw things up on the site in an attempt to get your way. If anything it will simply fill me with enough contempt to remove the feature from the site entirely.

Until I get around to making changes to the Image Share section (that have been in the pipeline for months) all image ratings are disabled along with the top images list. I apologise to those mature users of the site who have been enjoying the Image Share section. Hopefully you'll appreciate the situation and will enjoy the new features and changes made when they're launched.

I for one really appreciate your efforts on this. It does spoil the fun when people get ridiculous.

Too bad. I love sharing my images.
I really appreciate the work you put into this though. Hopefully the image share is back up soon again and hopefully some people change their behaviour or leave this place. It is always like that though - where ever a high amount of people meets, there is always a few idiots. That is just the way it is! :-)

I'm looking forward to the changes you have planned.

It's sad that we can't rate pictures for some time, but it's a small price to get rid of such pathetic backstabbers thinking themselves clever ninjas. I still remember very well that 38 rates of "1" for top pictures, including those of people I like and respect.
rams340000
I had some low rating on some good work and even made one to the top 25 but then three duds low rated it and sent me off. It would be nice to see the changes its about time.
Mavrosh
I have been to the top 25 for four times and got rated out. someone I do not even know in person send me a message then, telling me about people doing this as I did not know before. yah well. as I said, good thing, that this will be changed! :-)

Ofcourse there will be some pathetic-excuses-for-a-human lurking in here, it's a good thing that we are steadily getting rid of them though. Let's wait and see what kind of awesomeness Dark0ne has in store for our delight.

too bad that these things happens....

Something to consider, and I am not throwing stones or making an accusation with this.

If you have a second account and wish to discretely pm me, I will quietly ban that account with no questions asked. When reports do come in of disruptive behavior I do check the IP addresses that the offender has used, if I find a duplicate user both accounts or all accounts with the same IP may be baneed without any warning.

We do realize that members of a family will use the same IP, I know of a few off the top of my head. Please let me know and they will be placed on a list in the staff forums for reference purposes.

However ganging up on another won't be tolerated either.

Buddah, what if I don't know if there's another account using my IP? I have a brother who lives with me but who doesn't report to me what he is doing, so if he creates an account here it's 80% he's not going to tell me.

In truth, I know jack squat about pictures and how to clean them up...I barely know how to post them. But I can't stand for someone to abuse a good system this way, no matter what the topic is. Banning them for it? Good idea. The thing I like most about the Nexus forums is it doesn't stand for the nonsense that has wrecked, ruined, and ghost towned a lot of other sites and other game sites.

1- I don't see a lot of "noob bashing". Actually, I haven't seen any. Either this is some sort of miracle, or good behavior just rubs off. I, for one, love this.

2- There aren't a few sarcastic jerks running everyone off in some sort of meaningless competition with each other to abuse someone with the best "zinger". Battle for Wesnoth was like that.

3- A person comes on here with a problem. People treat that problem with respect and honestly try their best to help.

i have several images on the image share, though none of them are on the top 25 list, i dont believe people should do such a thing like this, they should get a lifetime ban for it. why ruin sucha great feature on tesnexus???

Reply, have added your IP and account name to the list, with note about possible second acct being added later.

Thanks. I'm not sure if that is required, but I know he tried to play Oblivion before and was going to download mods, so he may already have an account.

I agree with Shadow, he knows, after all, what lurks in the hearts of men. This has got to be one of the only places online where the responsible, mature-minded greatly outnumber the hateful, and immature. There are surprisingly few trolls, and flamers, though I have seen more people banned for this recently. It really suck that this kind of thing happens, but I guess it's inevitable. It probably goes without saying, but I, for one, think the moderators must do an amazing job to keep up with all the people on the site. So thanks for looking out for everyone. Hope to see an upgraded image share soon. Also, looking forward to the video share, assuming it's still being considered.

My account may appear at random ips, since I'm often at other houses. So please don't ban >.>

I'm actually glad that rule-breakers are being dealt with accordingly. I mean, they know the rules right? Then if they break them they should be punished =)
