Make sure it's MP3 format and simply copy the mp3 you want to listen to into one of the Music Subfolders.

Data/Music/Battle
Data/Music/Dungeon
Data/Music/Explore
Data/Music/Public

Don't mess with "Special"

I chose to leave the original music because it rarely plays since I have so many others in each folder. I chose all kinds of music not just video game, and I personally didn't like the "music replacer mod" music very much.

You need to record playing midi files, then encode them to .mp3. Getting any sequencer program, and some DXi or VSTi to get good quality sound will be helpful. If you can't afford that, use midi player like SynthFont, and get good Soundfonts. It will make difference.
