It realy Cought my eye when I Entered a site that added synthetic voices.which could voice act just about anything and I believe they are some how realistic.I posted this topic to know what people think about it.
My upcoming mod uses Voices that need to be voice acted by elderly person and because I am 12 I cannot voice act it any way.
Should he be mute? or should I use Computer generated voices?
post what you think.

Personally i'd prefer all speech to be computer generated from a text-to-voice program for all of Oblivion, or all silent like Morrowind. Theres nowt wrong with a synthesized voice, but ultimately its up to you, the worst that'll happen if people don't like it is either them not downloading it or some idiots posting daft comments, which can be disabled when you upload it. So make the mod how you please and to Oblivion with anyone who disagrees tongue.gif

eurghhh, that last line sounded like poetry sad.gif

You can easily add variety to voice tracks by using pitch/speed change: either or both can be done with the free Audacity sound processing app.

You could probably make a young adult male voice sound older in this way. It's certainly quite easy to change male to female voices (within limits) and vice versa.

Even the best computer-generated voices still sound a bit like daleks smile.gif
