More details are needed. Your title implies the error is during the download yet you speak of copying and pasting.

So when exactly is the error and what else does it say?

Also, are you correctly following the instructions which are always included with the mods? That includes removing them from their archived state and installing them in the right locations either manually or via OBMM.

sry for the mix up then
after i'm done downloading and saving the mod to my comp it displays the error message:
An unexpected error is preventing the operation. Make a note of this error code, which might be useful for additional help to resolve this problem:
Error 0x80004005
Imperial Treehouse.esp
Type ESP File
Date modified: 2/17/2008 9:40 PM
Size: 86.7 KB

thats it, oh and the readme files that come with usually just say to copy the esp file and paste them to the ProgramFiles/Bethesda/Oblivion/Data

So this is as soon as the file is saved or when you're unzipping it / copying it? Is it just this one mod or any of them?

The odd thing is that the error code in question appears to be related to starting up XP not "using" it or using MS Access or a database.

Is your OS completely patched up?

Hmm, then it could be to do with the in-built UAC protection though I don't recall that affecting copying and pasting.

Have a look at this post I made last week and see if it helps.

If it doesn't, the only other thing I can think of right now is trying the copy in safe mode (hit F8 as you are starting your PC up).

Oh and you have actually extracted the files before trying to copy them from the archive, right?

Good luck.
Kepola
how do u extract?

On Vista you should just be able to right click the file and say "extract". You may also use programs such as "WinRar" or "Winzip".

ok i'll try...
