I've just installed the expansion and I when I load my saved games, it goes to a black screen and shows a Windows error that says "Oblivion has stopped working." I have retail copies of both games and I have an Asus M50 laptop running on Windows Vista. Can someone please help?

Not sure if this is much help but have you updated to patch 1.2.0416?
Have you reinstalled oblivion without reinstalling the shivering isles and if so reinstall the shivering isles. you need the updated oblivion.esm that comes with the shivering isles to start or play. I think... I had a stroke of genius... or maybe insanity.
