I only got Oblivion for my 360 and I wondering if it is possible to get a couple mods for it other then xbox marketplace because I dont have xbox live. I already did almost all the quests, and beat shivering iles.

List of mods I already have:

Shivering iles
Knights of the nine
Wizards tower
theives den

unfortunatly thats it
dezdimona
only the official stuff from Bethesda. 360 cannot have player made mods...sorry!
Zurek

And thanks for reading my posts and for helping thumbsup.gif

PC mods can not be used on the 360 because of format differences and file structure differences. Even with the 360 DevKit you would be hard-pressed to decipher all the proprietary formats that the 360 uses in its games. Even if someone was able to figure it out, the problem would still remain that there is no [publicly known] way to make the game access an unofficial source to make the mod function in-game.

To throw yet more salt on the wound, if you read your EULA you will find that your 360 is checked at random intervals each time you connect to Live and also each time you update the firmware. One of the things that is checked for is DevKit activity, apparently it leaves a signature like a registry entry on a PC. If you are not authorized to have it (and I'm sure you are not) your Live account is deactivated and banned.

I frankly never understood people who buy the console version.

It's like building a sandbox and then pouring iron over the sand. Oh well, spread the word to your friends, tell them that no other mods but the official ones work on the xbox version, they might thank you later.

Maybe because they don't own a computer or do not have one that will run Oblivion.

My Computer is 6 years old and is just barely good enough to run Oblivion. Takes me ages to load the CS or test any changes to a mod in-game. I've had to learn how to make changes right the 1st time and to make a LOT of changes before closing the CS and testing in-game or I would never have enough time to mod. wink.gif

I made a movie trailer for Lost Paladins of the Divines but my PC choked trying to assemble all the individual movie segments and I was never able to compile the finished version. sad.gif Maybe I will get a new PC sometime to correct all these short-comings but I have to find the $$ first.

Just saying if I didn't have a PC that would run Oblivion, I wouldn't be modding for it but I would likely have purchased the XBOX version...thus, a "reason" why people buy the console version.

yea thats true but when your computer can barely manage videos how could it even remotely manage my fast pace gaming style and when I got oblivion for the console I didnt have a computer so that makes everthing else I said null and void. Yeah that was a long sentence wanna fight about it
