Can anyone advise me good mods that they use, absolutely any mod, that you think is good, please tell me
humanbean234
Mods fall into many categories, and without knowing what style of play you prefer, what the capabilities of your PC are, and what expansions you've got (SI, DLCs, etc) it's a bit tough to advise.

My recommendation would be to check out Buddah's List-o'-Links for his recommendations.

You didn't specify your interests. Are you into quest-mods, or are you more into making it look good but have no character advancement?

Edit - By the way, most mods require SI to be activated, whether you run it or not.

Id say Ooscuros Oblivion overhaul. I find that it greatly enchanches gameplay. http://devnull.sweetdanger.com/OOO/OOO_Guide.html

Also for better faces on your NPCs check out TNR. The most underrated facial enhancer out there.

The author of this site also made T.I.E which is actually quite good when used with OOO.

COBL I find is also and essential and adds a great deal of immersion. Made by the ever lovable Wrye.

Yeesh, spoiler much?

That's a pretty broad request, if you don't at least give a few categories for folks to narrow down. Go to the mods page and look at the current "top 100" - that gives you an idea of what mods are currently being downloaded a lot - generally a sign that they are good/popular.

Some of my own personal favorites, beyond the always-in-my-game Unofficial Patches?
COBL - a must if you like messing around with alchemy
Bag--of-holding, and Landmarks - two small mods I always have in my game.
Quest mod: Lost Spires was a pleasure to play through
OOO + MMM - made me play Oblivion for far far longer than I might have otherwise.

That is just a very teeny sampling of my own current mod list.

MMM and The Lost Spires are a definite
Dexwoods saga
Bartholm is a great town with a never ending arena and quests

Here's a few quest-mods. None of them need OBSE, but they do need SI to be activated in Data Files. They also carry a critical need of being load-ordered correctly, as most of them are large.

JQ-AssassinQuest
Kingdom of Almar
Malevolent
The Elder Council
The Lost Spires
Origin of the Mages Guild
Kvatch Aftermath
Midas Spells
Viconia
simonp92
ever tried the mod called dungeons of ivellon..??

damn thats scary:D

Worth mentioning here that JQ-AssassinQuest is sadly no longer available anywhere it seems after JQs run in with Bethesda logic.

Read the "Has Jannix Quinn stopped modding?" thread sad.gif ... it's a complicated story, and I don't want to misquote any of the facts.

Hi Tallhat,

I did not know about TIE. And your sparkle my interest...I have one question that can help the overall subject of the thread so I don't feel it's some kind of highjacking...

In your post you say TIE can be played with OOO

I use OOO and I can not envision playing Oblivion without...so you mentioned OOO and TIE can be installed together...

Can I do it without the Wyrebash or any other overlay? In other words can I have just both of the mods installled just like that?

In advance thanks for your answer.
X DLC X
The Lost Spires is a definite must, also The Ruins of Tarnesia is a great dungeon mod, IMO it is THE king of ALL dungeon mods so far, the author did better job with the dungeon than Bethesda did with any of the vanilla ones. Kvatch Rebuilt, Midas Magic Spells of Aurum, High Rez Skin Textures for HGEC(Just a personal preference, there are several other body replacers also.), Corean race mod, this way your characters won't necessarily look like old mummies no matter what their age is and simply the best looking 'human' race, Ren's Beauty Pack includes 4 Mystic elf races; normal & tattooed, male & female, also there is a separate voice set for this made by bunsaki(?*) that can be found-->here<--. The voice set only affects the player attack/being struck/fall down screams, if wanted, it can be used with other races aswell.(Using it myself.) Also there is a mod/are mods with complete voice sets and idle speech/power attack speech etc. it/they can be found--->here.

OOO, UOP, deadly reflexes + sca combat mods conclude the rest of the essentials. Do mention if I've forgotten anything. smile.gif

wow, ok thanks everybody, some great mods, now this is gonna keep me playing for quite some more. Anyways, as always i'm still open for even more suggestions.

Its not necesarry to use WryeBash for T.I.E since it is really just a single esp file. What you have to do to make it work is to simply find the file called TIE4MODS on this site http://www.stephanewuttunee.net/tnr_tie.html. It removes practically all the conflicts with OOO Frans MMM and so forth. Definetly worth it.

Thanks Tallhat

I appreciate your took the time to answer me...definitely going to check it...
Varus Torvyn
Firefable, are you sick & tired of the guards in Cyrodiil being telepathic when a crime is committed?

Try Reneers Guard Overhaul

Like a replacer for the animation of your character getting back up after being knocked for a loop? Try GetUp Anim Replacer
X DLC X
You could also try Weaponskill PowerAttackReplacer by Reira, I love the power attack animations.

wow! its a hot topic now. Anyway, i'd like to thank everyone again for their contribution. I'm still open for suggestions.
I also think that this topic would greatly benefit beginners and modders. They would see what people like, use and create those sort of mods.
