I've posted something in "steerable boats" that I want to expand to ask you something.

As I've posted several times, I want to be a merchant that will make his own objects.
I don't want to ride the boat, I want to buy the resources is a place and sell the final product in other locations (maybe out of my country). I've planned to have my own house to work in in and take a part as storage because I can't move all the stuff I'll create.

I know that you can have animal companions as a transport but can you make this? (I'm sure you can wookie tongue.gif):

- I go a ship or a caravan.
- I talk with someone to hire a part of the boat or the caravan.
- I move all the items I want to put in the proper location of the boat/caravan.
- I talk with the same person I we part to the location they go.

And I want to reask the question I've made in the boats topic. Can you be over a boat/caravan that is moving and walk around (in the floor of the boat or inside a carriage)?.

Nothing more and I hope this will help you to make better the best tongue.gif.

PS: I'll to do something like this when I've readed the ghan buri ghan tutorial XD

It is possible to script the ability to walk on a moving transport (i.e.: a transport vessel).

I don't have the authority to say exactly what will/won't be in the ME mod (most of that you can get from Daerk's posts anyways), but to put things in a better perspective for you, understand that the majority of what you would expect to be possible in the land of Middle-Earth will most likely be implimented if possible.

For example, there was a rathr lengthy discussion about falling x number of feet onto water. The question was whether you would be killed in the memod. Well, under any normal situation you would of course die a very painful but instantaneous death. If gravity and friction impact our normal lives, then expect something of equal proportion in Middle-Earth. I have yet to see someone defy the laws of physics (magic/supernatural/etc excused) in ME. Much like if a sword goes though you, don't expect to walk away in one piece.

The ME mod is not meant to be a slapdash project thrown together with spit and glue and made to "look nice". Everything that we are promoting it to be is exactly how we envision it. And we plan to pull out every trick, tweak and hack to make whatever we can possible.

Instead of people asking "will x/y/z be in the mod?", a better statement would be: "I am interested in doing x/y/z in the Middle-Earth." If it is a wonderful idea then you have made a fantastic contribution. And if we already have plans to or not to impliment, there will be no reason to reprimand you because what you're stating is a desire. Though you may get flamed anyways for restating old ideas. wink.gif

We are creating much more than a game. We are creating a world. And in this world are real societies with real people (in the vitual world) and there are real laws. Much like if you don't have the strength or contitution, don't expect to wear a full set of iron and an axe made for an orc.

Oh, good, insane scripters. That will make things interesting.... tongue.gif

Back on topic, how's about flipping it around - you are the person with the boat/caravan/whatever to rent? I reckon that would be a good way to make money in the mod, and it could be quite exciting (bandit attacks, anyone? happy.gif ).
