i dont suppose you would consider making a mod that just effects feeding.. like when you feed you gain abilitys and when you dont you loose them and get higer sun damage ect. but with out the different clans.. i personaly want to be a normal vampire hiding in the db sanctuary and going out at night to feed but not loosing all my abilitys when i feed =(

Hell yea, I'll get it. Bethesda has a huge following and could sell the game well even without the success of the fallout series.

How could I not? Their track record for quality has been amazing. They've managed to supplant the place long held by Origin Systems, for me. Though I realize that Bethesda is "corporate" and they don't have all the staff originally employed to make Fallout when Interplay was still a programming house unto itself, I've gotten a lot of confidence from what I've seen shared by Bethesda about the game. So much so that I put up the money for the Survivor edition selling at Amazon, and also put down the $5 bucks for a pre-order at GameStop, just to get my hands on the 5 track soundtrack CD (No intention of buying the game from them though, the $5 is fair for a short audio CD).
Oh, I should suppose it goes without saying that I am purchasing the PC version. Can't be without my mods for long! ^_^

This game is going to be amazing. I played all the old Fallout Games and loved them. Just imagine Oblivion in the Fallout World except 50x better. You get a nuclear catapult!!! I for one would love to battle super mutants in post apocalyptic D.C.

My friend had his preordered and is picking it up the day it comes out. Whether or not I buy it depends on what I think of it when I actually see it and try it out and his impression of it after he's played it for awhile.

The whole "if it come with a construction set" poll option seems obsolete imo seeing as they said it would use the same engine as oblivion so some modder or hacker would find a wayt to allow modding for Fallout 3. It would be cool to see what the community would make. I'm probably gonna get it for the Xbox though...

Street date + 90 days. I'm too old and grumpy to pay $55 for a beta nightly build. PC gaming "infant mortality" since the Invasion five years ago averages pretty nearly three months.
There will be half a dozen _Fallout 3_ sites: three magaziners that would give _Manhunt_ 4 of 5 stars, and three either loving the game to bits and tweaking every single texture, model, renderer, and combat equation in the game -- OR -- swapping tips on how to make the disc work in a DVD writer and/or under Vista, and calling down eternal postmortal torment on the design team, and offering G00F33-N4M3's Realism Mod with Included Unofficial Patches.
No, ya'll go ahead. Walk point. I've done my bit. Two to one it doesn't suck out loud, because it isn't Electronic Arts, and Bethesda kind of has to stick to the saddle and ride instead of clearing the decks two weeks after release for the new improved This Year's Game with a Ball and Famous Players.

Of course I'll buy it. I'll be greeting the UPS guy at the door when it arrives. Fallout 1 and 2 is simply the best single player RPG series of 90's. Too many RPG's with swords, elves and magic. This one has guns, mutants and technology. Refreshing!. The vids of fallout 3 gameplay look true to the originals. Mods or not I CAN'T WAIT

Bethesda produced one of the all time greats with OBLIVION.(and It's popularity is still climbing). But iv,e read an article that says Fallout 3 will not receive a classification here in Australia due to the level of violence and drug use.
Apparently some dude in WA has decided that it will adversely influence our children and therefore has decided on behalf of all adults not to classify it. These censorship laws are draconian and will not stop copies being distributed.
Bethesda should fight for this classification for obvious reasons, and allow us Aussies some freedom to decide for ourselves what we allow our kids to play.

The game looks destined to repeat the same things we had problems with in Oblivion as well as introduce new ones.

With all due respect to Bethesda, vanilla Oblivion is pretty horrible. Some of their design decisions were just plain bad.
All the beauty they tried to load into the game is marred by objects that tend to pop in jarringly instead of fading in gradually, elves with widows peaks that rival Mount Everest, and NPCs with faces that only their mothers could love. Even worse than the graphical issues are the gameplay issues.
The leveling system is portrayed as being simple and easy to use, yet it punishes players at the same time for not using the "right skills" for their character. Every bandit and his mother somehow manages to find glass armor later in the game, which really breaks the immersion. Jumping is like bouncing around on the moon. Some of the animations really aren't fleshed out enough, like how there isn't any diagonal strafing animation. And what's with the chunky, blocky vanilla UI?
On the bright side, it's pretty cool that every NPC has a voice. Oh wait, they all have the same voices, and only four of them don't give me headaches. It doesn't help that the all the NPCs scream ridiculous taunts during combat. And I'd happily trade hearing rumors about mudcrabs if each character (except the random bandits, etc) could have a unique tone of voice. Not even a different voice actor, which would be impractical with the number of interactive NPCs, but just a different TONE! Ugh.
Well, that ends my rant. Believe it or not, the rant DID have a purpose. What was it...oh yeah! Most of these problems can be fixed or subdued using various mods created by the game's great community. So don't get me wrong, I love Oblivion...after it's been completely modded the hell out.
And this issue is what worries me about Fallout 3. It will NOT come with a toolset when it ships, but Bethesda MIGHT release one later on. Well, I just don't trust them to build a great game all by themselves...they need a little help from the modding community.
At the very least, I'll probably wait for reviews of the game before buying it. I'm expecting it to get good reviews though, so I probably won't be waiting all that long.
To anyone who's new to the Fallout series, it's an amazing universe and the games based in it are arguably the best CRPGs of all time. The only way you could hate it is if you can't stand gritty science fiction, and would rather prance around in the pretty woodlands.

I have to agree with Kerghan, Vanilla Oblivion's design is, well, quite ugly. When I started it(w/o any Mod) the 1st time, I was so excited about the character creation, I tried to create myself but was then disappointed by the limited options(especially hair..). The Game World looks good, but it's almost always the same... If I would rate Vanilla Oblivion, it would get a 7 only because of the graphics. And my current modded Oblivion a 10, yes my current favourite game thanks to the CS and the Mods.
Fallout 3 is still interessting, but I'm afraid that it will be quite boring. Think of it, you're in Washington DC which is devastated by a Nuclear Blast. Except for the different Buildings, everything will look devastated. In other words: everything will look same.
But there're also really good points. Judging from the videos I saw till now, the Dog Fights might get interesting. Also the fact that you may literly play the way you want(i.e.: RPG, Adventure or FPS).
However, I think it would be quite stupid to jump on conclusions. Best to wait untill it'll be published and test it if possible(will there be a demo?).

Sorry it just doesn't look appealing to me right now. There is still so much to do right now with Oblivion, and I just can't seen to stop playing, always finding something new to do/find or a new way to play out a character. Lol, some would say I need to move on from Oblivion but meh...i love sandbox RPGs and Fallout seems way to linear for me.

Are they included in one of the required mods you have listed?

I'm an old school Fallout series lover. Loved the first one, Loved the second one. Waited for the 3rd one and I hope I love it. Should be well with bethesda backing it. Hopeful there is a CS and it will be just PERFECT modded. The game could have always used to communities touch to extend the possibilities of it. =D
