I've looked and I can't seem to find an option to have the mod comments display from oldest to newest so that I can go through the thread in order.

Is there such an option please?

Thanks for that but it is what I already do. I was meaning is there an option to have them display in the order I prefer so that I don't have to do all that.

I think this may be what you are looking for.

Select 'Go to Forum Thread' They are posted in order of posting there instead or last post first, you get first post first.
