There must be a reason why the number of images in a post are limited. Still, I would like to request that this limit (which I believe is 10) be increased.

50 or 100 seems to be a reasonable limit to me, though the site may have other considerations.

I think the limit is justified, it's there to stop people spamming too many images in threads. While your thread didn't include spammage its yet another of these preventative features that wouldn't be needed if some people in this world weren't complete sh!ts
