Tips 'n Tricks
This is a place to post all of your tips in tricks you have ever run accross in MW. I know there are many scattered throughout threads, but this is a place to bring them all together for newbies or anyone to look at an organized list. (There will be TRICKS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN POSTED in other threads or have threads devoted to just them) I will try and add all your tricks to my post as soon as I can.

A General Tip: Buy the Morrowind Prophecies! That book helps for every single quest in the game, including some random Freeform things. -Xionith

Easy money, can be gained like this: Get an amount of money somewhere around 5000, or more if you want. (That is simple so I wont explain it). Then go to Creeper (or mudcrab, or a high-money merchant) sell him as much money as he has, then rest. Making sure that you get that same amount of money from him. Do it for about 150 days, and you should come up with a good amount of money. Then kill the merchant and take his/her/it's money. So you should probably find someone besides mudcrab or creeper, and really make lots of money.. ( 700000 bucks free sound good?) -Xionith

To train two skills easily: Alteration and Security. Your alteration can be trained by locking doors. Instead of unlocking them with a spell of unlock, unlock them with a lockpick. This trains to skills easily and safely at the same time. -Breton Thief Oriana

On Good items to make (Enchantment wise): It is a good Idea to enchant an item of CE invisibillity, as you can unequip and re-equip it to stay out of trouble as long as you don't touch anything. This way, you can sneak past ANYthing. -Breton Thief Oriana

Un-Blinding The Boots of Blinding Speed: Once you have the BOBS (if you don't then check six tips down) then purchase a Strong Resist Magicka Spell. Make a new spell via Mages Guild or someone who does create spell, and make it Resist Magicka 100 to 100 for 1 second, Cast when used. Now cast the spell and immediately open up your menu and put on the Boots. Except for some reason the spells effect lasys forever.--Also an untested theory (untested by me at least) include (I think while your indoors) go into your menu equip boots go out of menu. Go in unequip go out. Repeat until unblinded. Again this theoriy is untested but has been said. -Xionith

Train Armor like this: Slaughterfish are an excellent way to increase armour skills- just jump in the water and wait for the fish to bite! Lower-level characters may want to bring a few health potions. -cmac

Loot if you can kill a Daedra: Berandas is a great way to get tons of loots and souls fast. All the chambers of the stronghold have respawning Daedra. Kill them, dispose of the corpses, leave, and the supply will be replentished! Also note the presence of a Daedric Dagger and a Daedric Spear embedded in the skeleton in the lower caves -cmac

Training to 100 without Master Trainers: There is a nice trick to raising skills to 100 without needing a master trainer who can be difficult to find. First, you have to find the "fortify skill" spell effect (easy with Tribunal) and create a custom spell of "Fortify other's skill" (on touch), for example 50 pts for 10 sec. Cast it on the trainer you need (like Wayn for armorer skill), then train to increase one point. Repeat the process until you reach 100, but you must cast the spell again each time you want to train. -Xionith Found on UESP

Training Athletics/Sneak for free: There is a way to train this much like you can with Athletics by running into a wall. This includes the 2nd Thieves guild quest in Balmora, but is not required. Go to the Nerano Manor and try to steal from Ondres Nerano and make sure he notices you. This will put him into combat mode. Next, run and jump up on the tables in the same room, the ones that form a half circle around support beam. Jump onto the plant by the support beam and you should be able to sneak there while Ondres Nerano tries in vain to punch you. Now just put a paper weight on your sneak key and you should be at full proficiency in sneak in roughtly 10-12 hours. So it's best to do something like this while you're at work or sleeping. -Xionith Found on UESP

Amulet of Shadows: It's not neccessarily a trick but, it may be needed to complete certain tricks and is just a useful thing to have.So to get it go out of Gnisis (through the large Balmora style architecture arch with the large dome next to it), and head towards Ald Velothi, staying on the path and following the signs. After a little while you will come across a lady near a pond. If you talk to her she will ask you to retrieve her ring from the pond. Go down into the pond and get her ring. Then you will hear a creepy voice saying, " No good deed goes unpunished outlander..." You will be attacked by the lady and a 80% invisible person. Kill them and take the invisible persons, amulet. The amulet of shadows. -Xionith

Boots of Blinding Speed: Once again It's not neccessarily a trick but, it may be needed to complete certain tricks and is just a useful thing to have. The Boots can be found on the NPC Pemenie. Take the road North out of Caldera. At the first cross roads, take the right road. Follow this until you come to another signpost. Keep heading west-ish, the road will turn and you'll see Pemenie on the left side of the road. She gives you the Boots as a reward for escorting her to Gnaar Mok but you can kill her outright. (See above "Un-Blinding The Boots of Blinding Speed" to unblind them) -Xionith

Another way to train for... free!:I found a great sparring partner in the game! Go to Sadrith Mora and go to the Gateway hotel. You'll find out that one of the rooms is haunted, it's the south wing room. Go there and a ghost is there. He seems to have high skill, but low damage (to my character anyway!) So I took off my armor and let him hammer at me for a while to bring up unarmored skill or block skill, if I am holding the shield. Obviously, whatever armor you are wearing will benefit, though you'll have to fix it after it get pounded a bit (which is why unarmored is good!). Then you can just hack at the ghost with whatever weapons you want to advance in. It good if you beat him down with your fists so that he is more fatigued and easier to hit with weapons that you have low skill in. He has quite a bit of hitpoints, so you can hammer at him as long as you like. If you kill him, go downstairs, go out the door then back in...tada! Fresh punching bag! Also, if you get hammered too much...just go into the room where he came from and take a nap! He won't re-appear until you exit through the downstairs door! You can do this until you are absolutely sick of constant combat... -Xionith Found on UESP

Bound Items: Possibly the best 'tip/cheat/thingy' in the game. Summon a bound *enter weapon name* and then unequip it from your inventory. After placing it in your inventory off your person, drop it. You cannot remove it off your person and drop it, you have to drop it into your inventory first THEN you may drop it. So now you have a constant effect Daedric Weapon that weighs absolutley nothing. -Ancalagon

Scroll of Mhas Vengeance: This is a very good Summon Bound thingy scroll. It will give you Daedric Shield, Curiass, Helm, Boots, Gauntlets, Battle Axe, Greaves so just do what it says above and voila! The scroll can be found (eventually) from a seller in the Vivec Mages Quild. -Ancalagon

A free daedric weapon: South of Balmora along the eastern mountains is a place called Vassir-Didanat Cave. This cave is actually the lost ebony mine go inside and you will officaly know the location of it. Next head to the St. Olms Canton and enter the haunted manor thats in the plaza. Inside you'll find a man named Vadam Dren wanting the location of the mine, tell him and he'll give you a choice of any Daedric weapon you want. -Xionith

Propylon Index's: A Propylon Index is a small cone-shaped rock that allows you to transport yourself between the Dunmer strongholds that appear on the paper map. To use them, simply go to the Propylon Chamber of a stronghold and activate one of the Propylons. If you have the index for that particular Propylon in your inventory, you will be instantaneously transported to the Propylon's destination Propylon Chamber. Thus these are very useful items to accquire in the beggining of the game for transportation reasons. Also mark and recall spells are good to get. You can find the amulet of mark and the amulet of recall also. They are found here: Verick Germain, the trader in Caldera, sells an amulet of Recall. Galtis Sarethi, a hostile NPC in Shurinbaal, has an Amulet of Mark. Or you can just make them yourself, which is quite simple and inexpensive but does not require any caves or such. Here also are the locations of the propylon indexes"

Andasreth Propylon Index

Hlormaren, Dome
The Hlormaren Keep is near the West coast, West of Balmora. The index is in the dome on the middle shelf to the left of the dome entrance.

Berandas Propylon Index

Gnisis, Arvs-Drelen
Arvs-Drelen is in the main town of Gnisis, North side. The index is on the top shelf next to Baladas at the top of the home. It has no assigned owner so Baladas shouldn't mind if you take it.

Falasmaryon Propylon Index

Maar Gan, Shrine
In the shrine in the South-East of this main town. The index is on the silver plate next to the big rock when you enter the shrine. Salen Ravel is the index's owner, so be careful when you take it.

Falensarano Propylon Index

Maelkashishi, Shrine, Forgotten Galleries
This Daedric shrine is a little ways West from Maar Gan on the other side of the mountain range. The index is on the scroll next the skeleton at the very top of the Forgotten Galleries section (levitation needed).

Hlormaren Propylon Index

Caldera, Irgola: Pawnbroker
Irgola's shop is easily found in the center of Caldera. The index is on the window sill next to Irgola, who also owns it so be careful if you decide to steal it. Irgola should sell the index as well.

Indoranyon Propylon Index

Tower of Tel Fyr, Hall of Fyr
Tel Fyr's tower is on an island a ways SouthWest from Sadrith Mora (you will visit the location during the main quest if you haven't already). The index is at the top of the tower on the table next to Divayth Fyr (he doesn't own the index so feel free to take it safely).

Marandus Propylon Index

Vivec, St. Olms Temple
The Temple in the St. Olms district of Vivec is reached via the Plaza level. The index is downstairs in the NorthWest storage room on the floor next to the crates.

Rotheran Propylon Index

Rotheran, Communal Hut (Rols Ienith)
The Rotheran Stronghold can be South of Dagon Fel near the tip of the island. Rols Ienith is just inside the communal hut and must be killed for you to obtain the index.

Telasero Propylon Index

Telasero, Lower Level
This stronghold can be found a little East from Suran (or a ways West from Molag Mar). The index can be found in a troth in the center area of the lower level.

Valenvaryon Propylon Index

Urshilaku Camp, Wise Woman's Yurt
The Urshilaku camp can be found along the coast a ways East from Khuul. The index is on the table at the back of the Wise Woman's Yurt. The Wise Woman Nibani Maesa owns the index so be careful when you take it.
-Xionith taken from Marxist Bastard/UESP

Good abilities to have: Get exquisite clothes and as soon as possible do constant enchants of water walking, water breathing, night-eye and levitate (unless your character has these skills). It is easy to miss a lot in ruins and caves if you can't levitate. -Malchik

Spell Training...with no trainers: If you want to level your spell schools without forking over tons of cash to master trainers then you can always make a small 1 casting cost spell and as you're walking from one place to another continually cast them. -thanateros

Another Sparring Partner: As for sparring with somone this method is a bit more complicated, and you need tribunal for it but if you hire the merc and get the royal singet ring put it on the merc and spar with him...he won't die too easily. -thanateros

Leveling Block: For leveling you block skill and not wanting to have to sit through the process you should make several articles of constant effect restore health items and find a kagouti or nix hound (this works for increasing armor skills) and just let them pound away at you for a while (just be sure to check every one-in-a-while to make sure equipment doesn't break). -thanateros

Increase Armorer:
To increase your armorer skill you, after killing an NPC, can strip them of their armor, repaitr it and put it back on the corpse (or keep it). -thanateros

Alternative water breathing: As for constant effect water breathing it isn't really necessary if you have around a CE 3 restore health distributed across your items. The screen still flashes red once you are out of breath but your health doesn't go down. -thanateros

Lockpick: The best and most frequently used item in the game that I have is my exquisite belt that can open locks up to 100. No matter what class (besides lockpicks) you are everyone can benefit from a lock opening article of clothing. -thanateros

Training for 1gp: If you find and purchase a drain skill spell (known to be in Fort Moonmoth and Skaal Village) you can make a drain [insert desired skill here] spell 100 to 100 for 2 sec. Now cast your new spell on the desired trainer, who has the desired spell. Quickly initiate the conversation box and train, as you will notice training now costs 1gp and AFAIK you can train to 100. -omniender

A Soultrapping Dagger: Complete the Balmora Mages guild quests and get the souldrinker dagger. Use it to fill the highest quality soul gems you can find with the highest creatures you can find and sell them to the creeper. An atronach (there is one in the Vassir-Didanat mine) is worth about 4000 septims. If you trap golden saints etc the price becomes too high to be practical to sell so set your sights a bit lower and you'll soon be rolling in money. -Malchik

Almsivi and Divine Intervention Amulets: I found that these amulets were helpful. I started a new game and soon realized I cannot live without them! So all you have to do is complete Edwinna's (Ald Ruhn Mages Guild) quests up to a certain point, and she gives them too you. The quests are very simple, and only involve you having to take a guild guide to Vivec, and buy a book, or steal one or return one etc. -Xionith

Leightweight Armor, actually No weight armor: Find a set of exquisite clothes, complete with belt, rings, and an amulet. Don't worry about the shoes though.
Accuire 6 Grand Soul Gems and put Golden Saints into them.
Find the following summoning Spells:
Bound Cuirass
Bound Greaves
Bound Boots
Bound Bound Helm
Bound Weapon (whichever one you prefer)
You've got one more piece of clothing and one more soulgem, put whatever you want into that one, my reccomendation would be to have a Bound Longbow.
Now, go get lots of money for some enchanting fun. Enchant each article of clothing with a Constant Effect Summon Bound <equipment>. Now if you equip the clothing, the armor will automatically appear on you, and won't go away as long as the clothes stay on you. And the best part is, they're weightless!
-Blackmage

Directions: Generally when NPCs give you directions the directions are not written into the journal. Nor do they usually give the chance of repeating the dialogue. If you don't pay attention you miss them completely. (I accept that they are sometimes unhelpful but most often they at least send you in the right direction!) -Malchik
Breton Thief Oriana

ok, that one isn't as good as the one above. Better try again.

On Good items to make (Enchantment wise): It is a good Idea to enchant an item of CE invisibillity, as you can unequip and re-equip it to stay out of trouble as long as you don't touch anything. This way, you can sneak past ANYthing.

Hrm, let's see.

So now you have a constant effect Daedric Weapon that weighs absolutley nothing biggrin.gif.

Another tip: Obtain the Scroll of Lord Mhas(sp) Revenge, lather, rinse and repeat...always repeat. wink.gif The only armor of Daedric nature you'll need are Pauldrons, since there are no spells or scrolls that summon pauldrons.
Xionith
Thank you all, for all the tips, now there seems to be a semi-long list and it's awaiting more!
Ancalagon: On your second tip your saying that this scroll summons daedric armor which you can do the samething with your first tip with? If not please explain.. help.gif
Ancalagon
Alrighty, se Lord Mhas(sp) Revenge basically summons a Bound Daedric Shield, Curiass, Helm, Boots, Gauntlets, Battle Axe, Greaves, and that's it I believe.

Now, you know the pic. of your character correct? And how to equip/unequip armour you drag it on or off the pic. right? Well, with bound items, once summoned go to the inventory menu and remove the item off your character. Once this is done, then remove said item (must be bound) and drop it. Wait for 60 seconds (Nominal Bound item time) and after the Bound Item icon near the GPS map thingy fades you will have a constant effect item that weighs nothing.

With LMR you can do the same since they are all Bound items. I had a stroke of genius one night and tried it out. Well, sufficient to say I was pleased with my myself in what I had discovered. It makes the player nearly invincible...but then again I never took on Dagoth Ur with said Armour yet...must try this..hrm hoom...

Hope that is clear... biggrin.gif
Peregrine
Too bad it only works on the unpatched game (or at least I remember trying, and getting told I can't remove bound items from my inventory).

*Pinned to hopefully answer some of the easy questions*
Xionith
Thanks for clearing that up Ancalagon! Also it's the scroll of Mhas Vengeance, I'll have to test it out with the patched version... please work!
My first pinned thread!
Malchik
There are loads of tips on the system already if you want to try to pull them together. You should probably add the daedric weapon from Dram Bero - worth a lot of money - for info on the Vassir-Didanat mine. Also Divath Fyr has two chests with unique items provided you can unlock them (100) he doesn't object to you doing so and taking the contents. I find cliffracers are good to raise your armour skills very quickly and if you have a mix and match suit of armour the cuirass will go up most quickly but the others will too a little including unarmoured.

Good start is to collect four mushrooms on arrival, go straight to Vassir-Didanat mine collecting four flowers en route. Then you can do all Ajira's mages guild quests very fast. It will enable you to sell ingredients at a good price early on. Go to Dram Bero to get your reward

Buy the Mark and Recall spells early on (Balmora temple) very useful for getting about. Also get the propylon indices quickly for the same reason.

Get exquisite clothes and as soon as possible do constant enchants of water walking, water breathing, night-eye and levitate (unless your character has these skills). It is easy to miss a lot in ruins and caves if you can't levitate.

The Urshilaku Burial Caverns is a good place for loot without seriously difficult defenders - rats, skeletons and the odd ancestral ghost. The cave of Ibar-Dad is also good but more difficult (dremoras, daedroths etc.)

Hope there is something in that lot you might find useful.
Xionith
I can't seem to find the location of Lord Mhas Vengeance scroll! If anyone knows where it is please tell me via PM.
saldrex
Putting thoes ce efects on a set of exquisite clothes does not seem like a good idea to me since you do not continually need the effects. With thoes you are better off casting them when you need them since they already do not cost much to cast. With ce enchantments on clothes you are better off puting enchantments on them since they are things that you continually use unlike levitate since it mages alot of things alot harder. Water walking not always that good to have since there are sone quests and reallly good ones that require you to go under water, and since you will never use water walking while on land. most travel is across land and you will never need water walking and are better off casting it since the only real islands you would need it for are Sadrith Mora and Dagon Fel. All the other islands are prety close to the shore or are ones that you never need to visit. water breathing is good but also pointless and especially pointless in combination wiith water walking since you would never use it. And for many of the same reasons as water walking, water breathing is also pointless and better off casteed when needed.

Good enchantments for a charator would be any atribute fortification since it alows you do better you atributes. These help you alot more than any thing else since they power up a whole groop of skills that other wise would be weaker. Another good one is jump. It is onee of my favorite ones. With 100 acrobatics and a ring with CE 8 jump (the highest possible for a ring) is great. i can jump ove a 2 story building and alows me fast travel. With the 8 jump it has more than doubled my jumping height. i also made a spell with 100 jump for 5 seconds and it is great. One jump with that can take a few mile forward. With about 5 jumps i was able to go from balmora to Urvits grave (about 2 minuites). Tthe jump spell is great for fast travel.
Malchik
You don't have to wear them all the time! Put the enchantments on rings if you prefer as they weigh less. But to explore the grottoes and sea bed properly water breathing saves a lot of time. Water walking (especially with fortify speed) enables you to avoid tangling with land based or sea based monsters when travelling long distances. Levitation helps enormously when exploring in Daedric Ruins and places like Berendas and the Urshilaku Burial Caverns. No spell, potion or enchanted item in game keeps you aloft long enough to do real exploration over the Red Mountain area either. I know that there are alternatives but the enchantments I refer to are very low cost.

I keep these items in my pack. When these are not needed I wear two exquisite rings, an exquisite amulet, a daedric tower shield and exquisite clothes and various bits of armour all enchanted with fortify speed (I don't use the boots of blinding speed). I also have a couple with fortify strength and the Necromancers amulet to restore health. Then there is Marara's ring etc. I wear the ones that most suit the circumstances.

But each to his own. Not everyone will agree with doing any of the above tips because they could be said to unbalance the game. And many would not see the point in going above level 50 or so but you like to play that way. Make the tips you like and let each choose the ones she/he wants to adopt, if any!

Well, the scroll does everything daedric EXEPT for Greaves, oddly enough

And, eventually, you can buy the scrolls from the seller in the Vivec Mage's Guild, Xionith
Ancalagon
Thanks for the correction, I forgot that there were no greaves. I remember I 'borrowed' the Daedric Greaves from Orvas Dren (using invisibility, mark and recall, and a whole hell of a lot of jumping around) Can't recall howI got the pauldrons, but I did...

In any case I felt like a badass...

(Now what would be really awsome is a plugin that gives you Sauron's movie armour from the FotR Movie, also if it would increase your height and have a sort of strength and speed increase spell on it as well)

*Drools

I would OWN Vivec, and I would be able to turn into a werewolf as well.
*Ponders* Well, first I would wipe out Solstheim and re-name it Tol-in-Guarhoth shiftyph34r.gif

Lastly (though I'll post more tips as they come I'm sure) the best and most frequently used item in the game that I have is my exquisite belt that can open locks up to 100. No matter what class (besides lockpicks) you are everyone can benefit from a lock opening article of clothing.
saldrex
Personally i think that rather than enchanting a belt with open locks there is an easily accessable trainer in balmora who you visit in a thieves guild quest. Personally i think that equisites clothes are best enchanted with CE effect. Once you master security you can pick any lock wit hany lockpick. It is very helpful in my opinion to master security.
Xionith
I was just wondering (this thread seems to mention it a lot) you can only do a constant effect chant on exquisite clothes right?

Note: I have tested the bound item trick with GOTY version (it comes with all the patches and stuff) sadly enough... it doesn't... work....
cmac
QUOTE (Xionith @ Mar 7 2004, 12:16 PM)
I was just wondering (this thread seems to mention it a lot) you can only do a constant effect chant on exquisite clothes right?

No- you can do constant effect on anything- it would just be a magnificent waste of charge. Exquisite clothes have lots of enchant points, so you can get in a satisfactory spell. You'll be wasting a lot of the gem's energy if you put it in a lesser item because it has a lower threshold for points.

ANOTHER TIP: If you don't have the patch, don't talk to Varius Vatinius about duel. It prematurely starts the last Imperial Guard quest- a duel for the rank of Knight of the Imperial Dragon. And it that is activated, you can't complete his quests.
Xionith
Well I tryed to do constant effect with a greater soul gem (from Galbedir) and I couldn't change it. Is it that the soul gem was to crappy or something?
cmac
Depends what kind of soul was in it. I think seh has a Flame Atronach in one of her Grand soul gems. Only a Golden Saint or an Ascended Sleeper can make Constant Effect. Galbedir has neither.
Xionith
I see... Dangit where am I a puny level 2 character going to get something as cool as that.... Thanks for the help cmac.

Malchik: How should I go about putting that quest list up?
Malchik
I'm not sure you should put it on the forums. I offered it around once before and got no takers so perhaps no one is interested. Keep it for reference. Both UESP and UHS have quest lists that people can refer to, though not in so accessible a format. I have sent copies to a couple of interested parties. If the feeling changes post it via a link 'if you want a complete list of quests go 'here'' and then bury it somewhere where you can't turn it up by accident.

BTW were there any quests on the list new to you?

To get a gem with a golden saint early on the best thing is to buy a scroll of summon golden saint and a soul trap spell and do the enchanters rats quest in Vivec (miscellaneous, he rewards you with a grand soul gem). Summon the saint, use the soul trap and zippo!

Even better would be to complete Azura's quest and get her reward. But at level 2 it would be heavy going. With the amulet of shadows, a daedric bow and the amulet of levitate - perhaps. You only have to take out Staada the golden saint, the other daedric summonings can be ignored. Then you have a rechargeable soul gem.

However even if you have the soul gems suitably filled, constant effect enchantments would cost more than most level two characters could afford.
Xionith
PM me about the Azura's quest/s (not sure...) please. Lol, I am a quite capable level 2 characyet.... I have Cuirass of the Saviors Hide, and glass armor. BOBS, and amulet of shadows, and of course 140K. Still I wanted to spend that money on master trainers, so I am not sure. Anyway, just PM me the info about those quests to get Azura's Star.

Yes, there were MANY quests that were new to me, I haven't even completed main quest yet though... Also it's perfect 'cause I can see the quests but it doesn't spoil anything!
Malchik
Here's a tip. Complete the Balmora Mages guild quests and get the souldrinker dagger. Use it to fill the highest quality soul gems you can find with the highest creatures you can find and sell them to the creeper. An atronach (there is one in the Vassir-Didanat mine) is worth about 4000 septims. Blackmage
Weightless Daedric Armor

For those of you treasure hunters who want good armor but still have lots of room to carry your items, try this trick (so far, I'm too lazy to go actualy test it to the full extent, but I know for some items it works)

Find a set of exquisite clothes, complete with belt, rings, and an amulet.

Now if you equip the clothing, the armor will automatically appear on you, and won't go away as long as the clothes stay on you. And the best part is, they're weightless!

Like I said though, this is untested because, well, I'm lazy. I figured this out after I enchanted a ring with a CE bound Mace, which cost only 15 enchant points. I don't know what exquisite clothes cost, nor do I know what a CE bound cuirass, greaves, etc etc costs. Maybe one day I'll test it.

when you start a new character you can easily make 2k in seyda neen

just steal things in the census house and drop them before the gaurd gets to you. there is a limeware platter worth 650 septims. I know it's not much but for a starting character it's enough to get started.

best way to do this is stand infront of the shelves open inventory pick everything up and throw it on the floor. and dont put it in your inventory until the guard talks to you.

Alkali Beast's earlier post deleted. This is a thread on tips for players not what happened by chance to you. I'm a bit doubtful about your other post but I'll let it go. Other moderators may feel differently.

Those of you who want glass armour early on should seek out the unmarked shipwreck. There's crate of the stuff just waiting to be picked up. For some reason it does not appear to be on the UESP list unless I missed it.

One thing that will certainly make your life eazy is to enchant a constant effect night vision ring (50 points is propably enough).

I suffered a lot in caves or even in houses because of purelight and having to use torches (which occupied one of my hands).

Having the ring not only makes everything very easy but also there is a lot of things that u miss with due to poor light.

Finally with good light you get to enjoy the inside decoration much better and see the details.

MKay Heres a cheat/hint/spell that should solves all your problems in morrowind

get a set of exsuite clothes right?

now get a couple of grand soul gems ( i cant remeber the exact numder but im sure its over 5) and have the gems filled with golden saints you know for that CE that poeple seem to like

Now have the spell be invisibilty or chameloen but for chameloen it has to be 100% for sure. and put these spells on your clothes with the constant effects.

Now with that you can steal anything because with the cloths on no one can see you. you can kill anyone becasue no one can see you. you can do Whatever you want, and to talk to somone just take off a piece of the clothing
Cete
Try not to rush through the game. You'll regret it later.
_it_
this is a really cheap way to get money a little later in the game

1st you need a exquisite amulet you can buy it in lots of places
2nd you need to do the mission for the kajit in the magus guild(cant remember the name) where you have to place the fake soul gem go upstairs an loot all the soul gems you can find there (wile playing the mission)
3rd enchant the amulet with a soulgem so it opens all doors

now you have acses to all of the doors in morrowind (and treasures)

now for the money part

1 get a deadric dai-katana (how u do it i dont care)
2 enchant it so it casts poision when strikes
3 find a ordinator beat him until he is dead
4 sell his armor to the scamp in calderra

u can get a 28000 easy per ordinator

Weightless Daedric Armor

For those of you treasure hunters who want good armor but still have lots of room to carry your items, try this trick (so far, I'm too lazy to go actualy test it to the full extent, but I know for some items it works)

Find a set of exquisite clothes, complete with belt, rings, and an amulet.

If your going to go through all that trouble I might as well tell you about the other glitchy way. Summon a bound item (anything) have another item of the same type(ex:bound weapon=weapon, bound cuirass=cuirass) summon the bound weapon, drag the other weapon to your portrait and equip it, it should unequip the bound item. Drop the bound item and wait for the bound item spell to wear off...TA-DA you now have a bound item thats permanent without all the CE crap. Some may call this cheating, others may call it exploitation of a glitch call it what you may and do what you may with the information given to you. bleh.gif

Except for the minor problem that the bug you refer to has been fixed. Bound items can not be dropped from your inventory. Your cheat no longer works.

Odd, it just worked for me a second ago, I must need to patch, sorry, I was unaware of that... sad.gif

I didnt see this anywhere else in this topic, so here goes:

If you use the books: The Anticipations, Live of Saints and The Consolidation of Prayer, you can make a stepping-stone bridge across lava using any of these three books. There are over 90 copies of each, so it shouldnt be hard to find them.

An ebony Short Sword can be found among the boulders near the southwest corner of the would-be Hlaalu stronghold Rethan Manor. Its even unguarded.

A daedric Dai-Katana can be found on a dead warrior in the Maesa-Shammus Egg Mine.

The Sword of White Woe appears in Surans Guard Tower and Balmora's Eastern Guard Tower.

Thats about it.

Post-patch Bliss? I have a bound longbow that I can't get rid of...think I got it by using up my previously equipped probe or pick. I'm not sure if I like this, or not, though. Seems kinda cheap to me
Coolhandgoose
I have the patched version of morrowind and have the following glitch. When I was fighting a golden saint, I casted soul trap and used a scroll of soul trap. When the killing was done I had two golden saint souls. Seems like a pretty easy way to get lots of souls especially when some are harder to come by.

If only my enchantment skill was higher. smile.gif

To get full Daedric without cheats......

Make a spell - Disinagrate armor
100-100 for one second on touch ................................................. Make spell calm humonoid
100 - 100 for 30 sec "Just bye one" ..................................................
Then go to tel fyr and you will find the guy with a full set of deadric armor.
Keep casting the disinagrate armor spell on him. Eventauly he will be stripped of his armor.
Once he has no armor on cast the calm humonoid spell and pick pocket his armor.

Dude, did he just TRIPLE post? Man, apparently no one reads this because he did this over a 4 day time period. Is that allowed?

No it's not allowed, and I suggest you read the rules on vigilante posting.

Nafarius 0001, you have an edit button for a reason. Use it.

Here is a tip for some real easy Constant Effect Soul Gems.

THINGS YOU WILL NEED:
Soul Drinker, or another weapon that does Soul Trap
Azura's Star, although a Grand Soul Gem will do...
250 Magicka
Summon Golden Saint spell (or a scroll for low magic people)
Lots of Health

STEP ONE: With the Soul Gem ready, summon the Golden Saint
STEP TWO: Hit it with the Soul Trap then beat the living tar out of it
STEP 3: Capture the soul
STEP FOUR: Enchant to your hearts content!
STEP FIVE: Repeat

You can take merchandise from the Outfitter's shop in Suran. Ranosa Gilvayn will yell at you but she doesn't attack or tell the guards. You won't get any bounty either.
Adras
But if you get caught with the stuff in your inventory, the guards will take it and anything else you have that was stolen.

Sorry to double post, but I wanted to keep this seperate from my other post and noone posted inbetween this and my other.

Anyways, I found a way to use telekensis for a longer time than it gives you.
What you do is cast Telekensis (ring, spell, scroll, potion) and while its on, make sure noone can see you (preferibly do this before you cast the spell) and right click to go to the menu where you can check your inventory and such. While the menu is open and the telekensis is still on, you can use your curser to pick stuff up, but your time doesnt run out until you right click again. It works if theres a lot of stuff in one area but your telekensis spell/scroll/potion/ring/whatever else has a short time limit. Its usually 5-15 seconds from what I've experienced. Its very useful.
Dilvish
You can make an enchanted item to restore your magicka.

Enchant the item with the spell: Drain Intelligence on Self 100 pts. for 1 second.
(You can buy the "Drain Blood" or "Distracting Touch" spells at various locations if you don't already know a drain attribute spell.)
When your intelligence drops to zero, your magicka will drop to zero too. After 1 second, your intelligence will return and your magicka reservoir will fill up to it's maximum.
Remove any intelligence fortifying items first. Your intelligence must drop to zero for this to work.

Easy money, skills, and levels:

One prerequisite: Your alchemy skill needs to be at a reasonable level, (no less than thirty) or this could take a while...

Begin by warping to the Caldera Mages Guild and Marking by Creeper in Ghorak Manor, or Marking by the talking mudcrab to the east of Vivec. Next, go back to the Caldera Mages Guild, and Steal , (or buy) the master's Mortar and Pestal, and all the other alchemy stuff in the tower. Go to the Sadrith Mora Mages Guild and talk to Tusamircil. (If your speechcraft is high, get his disposition up) Purchase crab meat, and kwama eggs (or hound meat, if you really want to. The purpose is to make Restore Fatigue potions.) Finalize the sale, then repeat. Continue until you have enough of each. ("Enough" should be defined by you. It really depends on how long you want to be there. Ignore your encumbrance, because if you followed above directions, you won't be walking anyways.) Cast Recall, and then start making potions. Every 20-30 potions you successfully make, your alchemy skill will increase (this is the rule for level 50-90 alchemists.) This is the skill portion of the trick. If alchemy is a major or minor skill, then this is also the level portion of the trick. When you finally run out of ingredients, then sell your potions to Creeper (or the Mudcrab) for a signifigant amount of money. This is the money portion of the trick. This is the easiest way to get money, skills, and levels *legally* in Morrowind. Plus if you made alchemy a Major skill and you are just starting a game, then this is especially helpful.

I realize this might be thread necromancy but I feel like I have something to add. You can do what wraithgaurd said but change the ingredients to ash yams and bloats make a couple then drink them. The potions will increase your intelligence by a number depending on your current intellect. After you drink some make more and the effect will be better (because of your higher intelligence) plus they cost more then the generic ones. Hope this is helpful. biggrin.gif Sorry moderators and admin if this is necromancy. unsure.gif

Well, people are still playing Morrowind and will do so for a long time and you are trying to help by contributing something new, so it's all good I think. smile.gif

Threads like these were meant be expanded upon constantly anyway.
