Do you play the holy crusader? Or perhaps the backstabbing rogue? Maybe the naive healer? Tell us!
Haven't seen one of these topics around, so I figured I'd make one out of curiosity.

I imagined my Battlemage as having been through a terrible experience at a young age. He unfortunately witnessed the death of his entire family at the hands of rogue Conjurers.
As a young lad of eight, he swore vengeance upon those who would wield magic against innocent people that had no protection from evil magic.
He studied as much as he dared by finding old, musty scrolls within the dank & musty halls of crumbling dungeons. When he came of age, he decided he wanted to become a member of the Mages Guild.
Unfortunately - and he still doesn't know why - he was arrested & placed into the Imperial Prison.
His adventure begins anew there.

Sounds pretty cool, Varus.
I have way too many characters to list, but I'll just start with my mage.
She was born in Morrowind to a single mother who had no time to raise a child while dealing with her duties as a Telvanni sorcerer. She grew up by herself, and was fairly shy by nature, preferring to read tomes rather than play in the mud with other children.
At the age of ten, her mother died suddenly from food poisoning, and while the murderer(a rival Telvanni mage) was allowed to walk freely, she was entrusted into the care of a reclusive wizard. She, along with several other apprentices, learned magic from the man.
At sixteen, her mentor was killed by two ambitious apprentices, and she ran away thereafter, choosing to lead a life far away from the wicked politics of the Telvanni. She traveled across Morrowind, taking a boat to Mournhold and staying there for a while. She soon left, however, and continued on to Valenwood.
While helping enslaved Argonian prisoners escape their captor's, she was caught and thrown into the Imperial Prison, where she began a whole new adventure.
Now she's the Archmage of the Mages Guild in Cyrodiil, and is working to combat the Daedra pouring through the Oblivion Gates. She's not a member of the Blades, seeing as how she has plenty of work cut out for her as the Archmage.

My character is a ranger type with a twist. He doesn't love nature and isn't good willed.
He grew up in Syeda Neen in Morrowind, with only his mother and father, who both wanted him to become a chef so that one day he might make food in one of the Houses. While apprenticing at a breadbaker he discovered a talent wich made him bake the bread faster by casting fire at it.
One day the Baker saw his apprentice doing this and reported him as a rogue magician to the authorities. He didn't want to stay and find out what they would do to him if they caught him so he took his fathers bow and ran into the Wilderness. He evaded the Legion and Mages guild foryears and killed his first man at the age of 18, an Imperial legion Scout who was out looking for some bandits in the nearby area.
He took the man's sword and learnt the skill of swordsmanship. Knowing that he would become a wanted criminal if the legion found out about what he had done he snuck onto a pirate ship and hitched a ride to wherever the ship was going.
One night while drunk the captain stumbled upon him in the hull and screamed for his crew. He got slaughtered in front of his whole crew by the fugitive and the crew immediatly swore allegiance to the killer, because they worked on the principle you keep what you kill. He sailed around the coast of Cyrodiil and got ambushed by an Imperial fleet near Anvil. Scared he jumped overboard and escaped notice, taking only a small dent to his pride.
He then went to live in Bravil and started an assassination business from his home. He was quite successful until a member from the DB came lead him into a trap wich got him caught by the Legion and he ended up in jail.

Because dark and depressing stories are simply more fun to create than a simple story. Would you rather have you level 50 Knight remember growing up as a difficult ordeal that tested his faith, or as a happy little adventure where he ran around all day picking flowers?
Sarya: I'm sorry, I didn't notice the other topics like this. I guess this is rather pointless now, isn't it?
Carah
Jul 9 2008, 04:17 PM
Carah is constantly torn between good and evil, and those looking in from the outside tend to wonder where her loyalties lie. In the long run she always follows her heart. She is a warrior through and through. A great loyal friend to her comrades, and anyone who wants to help her. She hates the relm of Oblivion with a passion, and loves taking down the gates.
Her interests include: nude mudcrab watching, buddah bowling, erotica, cave diving, base jumping (with her horse Nimrodel), and candle light dinners on the beach.
Her weaknesses are: Older guys, especially the bald ones (aka, Jauffre), sweetrolls, shopping, starting fights with Orcs, and stealing people's mail.
Her eyes are green
Long copper hair
She is 5'1" tall
weighing at 130 lb.
her age is 29
Her weapons of choice is a elven short sword, and Hadhafang
She has a fetish for corrupting preists, which she doesn't hide, especially when she includes Martin in the acts. She does learn alot from him (amazing what you can learn from an ex-deadra whorshipper).

If the moderators don't object....carry on.
Did a short mention of "Gersilla"--my wood elf in the poll about what gender we play.
She was born a he, ages ago (before graphic intense things) as Gerstley Borate. A cursed artifact slowly turned him to her, in a period of about 5 months. The conflicting male and female parts of her brain and body drove her insane.
She'd just soon as hit somebody upside the head for being rude as muck around with trolls. Doesn't care much for Nords for some reason, and dislikes Anvil because of the ocean smell. Mountains and forests are her domain. Rock hopping and nude mud crab watching are a couple of interests.
Gersilla likes men, but loves women. Women with reddish brown hair is her favourite for ....um, very close friendships. She travels light and is much a runner. Very into sports and has introduced a few that have spawned from her twisted mind. Favourite and only weapon is a bow, and prefers a face shot over any others. Does not ever want to own a horse, but is willing to borrow one if need be, but prefers her boots to get around.
Loves her clothing, and though she always carried a few changes with her, has a stash of outfits outside each town so she may dress for the occasion. And there is a fascination Gersilla has of acquiring things from people's houses in the wee hours of the morning.

The very quick story of Aeil.
Aeil was born into elven nobility. His father was an accomplished legion veteran serving in fort Moonmoth in Vvardenfel and his mother was a priestess of Kynareth. At a young age he and his sister were sent to their uncles to learn the ways of combat. During their trip their caravan was attacked by bandits intent on kidnaping them. Aeil and Aenna were captured but saved shortly after by the Pale Knight Alexander Tybalt. Aeil swore he would join the Templar Knights and earn his place among the Pale Knights. 3 years later Aeil completed his training under his uncle and joined the Templar Knights. 12 years after serving the Templars he was inducted into the Pale Knights as their 3rd member 4 years after that Aenna joined bumping their members up to 4. The Pale Knights become immune to aging upon entering and become fully mortal once they leave or are stripped of their status. The Pale Knights members are (in order of time spent in the order) Hrol, Tybalt, Aeil, and Aenna. Here is a picture of 3 of the Pale Knights

These are all great! Makes me want to start writing again!
People like me, who make a new character every couple weeks, need lots of threads like this. It just doesn't seem right to post more than one character story in the same thread.
Liya was a young huntress on a remote tropical isle. One day she found a huge, winged canoe floating in a lagoon, and white men without tails were roaming the shore. Curious and without fear, she went to meet them. They offered her pretty things, and coaxed her aboard, showing her the ship. Then suddenly they slammed a door behind her and she was trapped! The next day they sailed away, and when she was finally let out (to their very great harm), her island was gone. She climbed to the masthead and swung the topmaul at anyone who came to bring her down. The captain was anxious, for with her up there they could not set their topsails. But the ship's armorer came up with some fresh meat, and managed to gain her trust. That trust was not misplaced. He was kind to her and protected her, though the crew resented it bitterly. Over the long voyage he taught her Cyrodiilic, and the alphabet, and all his skills at the forge. But this was not to last. A freak accident in a heavy sea as they entered Topal Bay sent the armorer tumbling into the hold, where he broke his neck and died. Liya had not forgotten her hatred of the others, and knew how they resented him. She was certain they had killed him. Slowly the ship made its way up the Niben, finally mooring at the Imperial City. When all were drunk in celebration, she began to kill them. But some escaped to call the guard, and soon she was overpowered and thrown in prison. And there she expected to stay, until a strange coincidence set her free--to find the few who got away, and then find the way back home.

Since Morrowind I have ever and always been a Dunmer..Fit my personality..
'Until this great modder Cappucine created this beautiful creature, this Aquamer..umm her origins the mating of a High Elf and a willing slaughter fish, womon has a sense of humour..
Well from her my story arose for the first time..she was found by Imperial guards naked on the shore, with alternate beginnings, she found herself on a prison ship and landed on the shores of Anvil with a shack oft things, for they asked her from what were her origins, and all she knew is somehow she was royal, and they gave her things accordingly to begin her life, in this strange land..
Kailia Murrough last name in Irish Gaelic means Mermaid.. I am very into Gaelic 'Myth' The Merrow were capable of attachment to human beings and there are reports of them inter-marrying and living amongst humyns for many years. Her mother was a Goddess and great sorceress, a merwomon of the sea.. and in a dream, seduced a half High /halfDark Elf, ( I found that more exceptable to me)..took from this humyn, its ummm 'essence' , and created her daughter to walk amidst men to find out how things faired in the humyn world now..
From there Kailia was created..But her mother Goddess of the sea, did not wish for her to know her true identity, and wiped from her memory with a spell all but her name , and that she was special.. But wanted her to learn through experience the world away from the sea…what special meant...then she would have no preference but must learn for herself, what was her true heart and soul..
She wander about with no memory...only flashes of scenes she did not understand in dreams..was laughed at and shunned for one like her had not been seen in Cyrodill..
Kicked aside a treated, cruelly, for her difference, for she went against the norm in her thoughts and choices, many times..For her looks they laughed.. her gills, and bluish colour, and the great blue fin that graced the top of her bald head, and the beautiful but slightly scaly skin..
She received with disdain for her differences.. She found prejudice and cruelty, in this land of humynkind.. she became a loner and shunned all.. She fought against her true nature, developing duel sides which she needed to explore to find that indeed, that there was neither true evil or true good..That circumstances required actions, that were indeed more grey then either..she was confused lost and alone.. So her mother sent her three companions, that would show her the different sides of life..
She is now exploring and finding out who she is. She was led to a companion Rhianna that opens her soul, to its beauty, a companion Red Sonia, hellraiser race, that lead to the darker sides of things, and a companion Neeshka wild and free Dunmer, that shows her the grey areas..that one can just be in the moment..
From these she is exploring and learning who she really is..and what it is that was suppose to be special about her..in this cruel world she found herself in..
cheers mates

Indeed, many thanks for the thread, because I'm continuing work on one of my characters, and it's always good to have these threads to chronicle the latest bit of work on characters.
I'm working on the story of my Wood Elf, Elora. Originally, she was more or less a stereotypical thief, then I was going to make her a Druid half-Elf, but I stepped back and went closer to the original concept, now more of a rogue/ranger. Her parents are long gone and she was raised by a Dark Elf woman named Drasila, a seemingly typical noble woman living in the city who found Elora abandoned near the city sewers, but who lived the secret life of an assassin for the Brotherhood that she disclosed only to Elora as she raised her. Drasila taught Elora the ways of being stealthy, killing unseen with bows and swordplay with short blades. She passed on her knowledge of Illusion and Alteration. She worked to make an assassin out of Elora and bring her to the Brotherhood, but Elora had too much of a "good" disposition; she followed her training but had no desire to be a killer. She was concerned more with who her parents were and where she came from.
Drasila actually encouraged Elora in what she chose and supported that Elora didn't want to be an assassin, she was much older than Elora and very wise, she hadn't always been an assassin. She was raised by well-respected, wealthy parents back on Morrowind. Her joining of the Brotherhood was vengeance, when her parents were slain by Imperials after Morrowind was seized by them. She wanted a good opportunity to kill Legion soldiers. But her chance at revenge became her fall.
Drasila was caught in the act when sent on her dream mission - the murder of Adamus Phillida, this was the first failed attempt at his assassination. Her timing was wrong, and she was slain by guards. Thus, Elora was completely alone at roughly the age of 90 (not quite yet an adult elf).
Elora knew very little on living alone, and after Drasila was killed, her home was seized and Elora was forced to leave. And so began her life out in the wild ... a life that seemingly would never end.
Not long after she began her life alone, Elora was pursued constantly by bandits - not typically bandits, but powerful bandits with the intention to kill more than steal. They weren't Dark Brotherhood. One thing led to another, Elora learned that this odd bandit guild had ties to her parents, they were members of this group ... and traitors as well.
Long story short, Elora lives on the run from this group who seek her death for her parents betrayal. To them, Elora has "traitor's blood" and must die as well, for she was born after her parents betrayal. Much against her will, Elora is forced to kill to survive and constantly be on the move.
Appearance: Elora is short, standing at about 5'1" and weighs about 95 pounds. She has dark brown hair, slightly long and often kept up away from her face. Her eyes are bright green and her skin is pale, not very, but not dark at all.
Personality: Elora has a very gentle disposition, but she's slow to trust. She's often jumpy and nervous, always on edge, expecting someone to try to attack her. She doesn't say much of anything about her life and she never mentions Drasila's name to anyone. She's more or less blind to any man showing interest in her - love is the very last thing on her mind, if it is at all.
That's Elora thus far. I've got to type out the story for my Dark Elf character Arya someday - she's been a year in the works and is far more interesting. But I need permission to disclose much of her story, since the story she's based in isn't my creation.
Whoo .. my fingers hurt now.

No moderators have contacted me, so I guess this can stay up.
I'm in the process of writing a story based on and about Abigail Fenn, one of my two favorite characters. It probably won't be up here anywhere, but if I like it, it might be put up on Fanfiction.net.

Sure, I'll give this a go:
An empty box. "Who'll notice?" he wonders. Darius II grew up just another worker bee in the hustle and bustle of the Imperial City. The harbourmaster shouts a string of orders, but the strong Dunmer's mind doesn't buckle even as his legs strain under the weight of myriad containers. They never wander. During breaks he allows his mind that freedom as he stares at the destinations stamped dutifully across each box: Elsweyr, Hammerfell, Morrowind. Morrowind. The name recalls an absent father. He was a nice guy, and caring for a Dunmer, but he couldn't suppress the wanderlust. He was jailed for attempting to stow away then transferred suddenly to that green dream of pride and sea. Finally got his wish, the fool. The creak of the old ship is hard on his ears. "Who'll notice?" he wonders. Inside the empty box, he is his father's son.
He is indeed his father's son. Cold, stone jail. Darius ignores the taunts from a would-be countryman. He knows something is amiss and almost laughs when a fleeing emperor tells him of destiny in hurried words. "A tongue shriller than all the music calls..." Darius can understand that. He hears it too, the creaking of that old ship. The guards tell him not to follow, but what can he do?
He is his father's son.

Tragedy is all well and good, but it's nice to see a more light-hearted story, especially one so well written.
I suppose I could post another one of my character's stories, but most of them are dark and tragic, and only a few of them are fully developed.
Oh well, I'll just go with my assassin character.
She was born and raised in High Rock, though she was not a Breton, and grew up in a rather tiny hovel with her grandmother. Her mother worked as a healer for the local landowner, who's land they rented, and her father was a guard at the lord's estate. She grew up with a wild and free-spirited personality, and resented the times when she was forced to stay in the house due to her grandmother's sickly health.
Eventually, her grandmother died, leaving her without a home, so she moved into the lord's estate as a servant. She was around twelve years old at the point, and was much younger than any of the other servants. Her parents were largely uninvolved with her life, and she preferred it like that, having lost the only person who had ever shown any sign of caring for her.
Years past, and she learned basic knife skills from the stablehand, who had once been a bandit. She taught herself very simple spells, and kept her skills a secret from everyone else. Over time, she had gained the trust of the other servants, and had also worked her way from kitchen cleaner to personal servant of the lord's daughter.
The two girls were friends of sorts, and would often chat happily while alone. Unfortunately, the daughter was cursed with a strange mental disease, that slowly ate away at her sanity, driving her into deep depression, and soon thereafter, madness. She was helpless as she watched her friend die, and soon began to hate the lord, whom she felt had brought the sickness upon his daughter by keeping her locked in her room for so many years.
The daughter finally died in her sleep, one of the only peaceful moments of her short life. She was not allowed to attend the girl's funeral, and instead was demoted to kitchen helper. She harbored a deep hatred towards the lord, and secretly began to poison his tea with a potent herb, which would slowly induce the same symptoms that his daughter had experienced. While the herb took effect, she began collecting her daggers and various small possessions she had earned throughout her life.
When the lord died, she was the one who pinned the message to his chest; "I do not cry for you."
Then, she left, leaving High Rock and making her way to Cyrodiil. In the two years she spent wandering, she developed a taste for killing, a bloodlust caused by her murder of her former lord. In time, she was invited to join the Dark Brotherhood, and she accepted without hesitation.
Now known as a dangerous killer, her movements are closely tracked by the Mages Guild Archmage, who suspects she may be planning a massive strike against the Empire when the Oblivion Crisis reaches its peak. But nobody can truly decipher the thoughts of a deranged murderer.

I got another of my stories for ya.
Name: Drukon T'oth (pronounced t'oath)
Age: 26
Race: Tabaxi
Apperance: Like all T'oth Drukon is a black tabaxi. He has yellow eyes and wears a ceremonial armor given to him by his father.
Backstory: In southern Valenwood lies a settlement where 3 grat Tabaxi tribes live. The three clans are the Firan tribe, the Arcnam tribe, and the Dark Shroud tribe. Of all the tribes none have produced as suberb assassins as the T'oth clan of the dark Shroud. The shadow panther Pherthia herself has given the T'oth clan her blessing. The T'oth clan has a a diverse family tree with many branch families and a main line. Every branch family is allowed 3 children but only 1 male. The main families are allowed 4 children but they must have at least 1 female but no more than 2. All children of the main branch except the first born become their own branch family upon marriage.
Story: Drukon T'oth was the first born of the T'oth main branch and because of this he was taunted and excluded by the other children of the Dark Shroud tribe. Drukon tried hard to impress his peers, he managed to get top of his classes in training which only served to push them further away from him. In their ignorance the other children thought Drukon was undeserving of his grades and thought he was merly a pampered noble. What they didn't realize was it was the opposite Drukon was pushed harder than any other child, even those of the T'oths. His father demanded perfection from him and pushed him hard to succeed. Drukon's only friends were his younger brothers Rukon and Ukon. Rukon was quite popular with the other children of the tribe and tried to get the other to accept Drukon more. Ukon worshiped Drukon for his skills and said he was a true legacy of the T'oth clan. One particular Tabaxi who absolutly hated Drukon was Rokoon Drogoth a member of the Drogoth clan. Rokoon's father Dro'oth despised Drukon's father Faythis. The two had been close friends. During a war between the Tabaxi and the nearby Lycosians Faythis had been credited with ending the war and was named a hero. Dro'oth felt he had done just as much as Faythis and deserved a heroes title as well but in faythis' shadow he was almost forgotten.
One day when Drukon was 12 Rokoon mocked Drukon calling him a pampered talentless coward. He insulted Drukons family calling his mother a faithless whore and his father a coward and a glory pig. Drukon was infuriated at the insults and drew his daggers at Rokoon's throut challenging him to a duel, Rokoon refused. Later that night Drukon snuck into the Drogoth estate and murdered Rokoon. The next day the insident was brought to the councel of elders. Dro'oth demanded the T'oth clan be stripped of their status and exiled, Drukon claimed he was defending his families honor which is a justifiable reason within the clan. After the evidence had be brought up the elders decided Drukon was within his rights. Dro'oth was infuriated and told the councel they only found Drukon innocent because he was a T'oth. For their disrespect the Drogoth's were removed from their status as nobility and dropped to middle class citizens. Dro'oth sword vengeance against the T'oths
When a Dark Shroud becomes 16 they choose what their path will be. The most prestigious of the paths is that of the assassin. The main branch of the T'oth clan were able to produce an advanced type of assassin known as the Shadow Walker. At 16 Drukon was given his duty to choose his path. His father had wanted him to follow the path of the assassin. Drukon following in his fathers footsteps chose the way of the Shadow Walker. In order for a member of the T'oth clan to become a shadow walker however, they were required to kill the previous Shadow Walker, their father. Drukon and Faythis traveled to Terminus the ancient city of their ancestors. Upon arriving there they split up and the hunt began.
While the strongest of the T'oth clan were away Dro'oth and his followers in the Drogoth Clan took their revenge. The Drogoths attacked the T'oth estate killing many of the guards. Gro'oth went to the main T'oth estate intent on killing Drukon's family. There he found Drukon's mother, Kaiun ready for him. He drew his sword and in his ignorance went after her expecting a quick and simple kill. Kaiun was a powerful priestess of the shadow panther and gave Dro'oth a rough fight. She managed to scorch the right side of his face with a powerful blast of shadow, disfiguring his face horridly. Despite her power in the end Dro'oth defeated her. Rukon enraged, ran at Dro'oth driving a dagger deep into his leg. Dro'oth grabbed Rukon by the throut and dismembered him slowly. Once he was done he pinned both bodies to the wall. The councels armies caught sight of the siege on the T'oth estate and moved in to stop the assault. Dro'oth managed to escape but the armies were close on his tail.
For 3 days Drukon fought with Faythis and on sunset of the third he caught him off guard and slew him. After his task was completed Drukon prayed to Pherthia to recieve her blessing. In deep meditation Drukon spoke with Pherthia and she showed him a vision. Drukon witnessed the slaughter of his family and the escape of Dro'oth. When Drukon awake his daggers were missing. He found a new pair of daggers on the altar, Pherthia had blessed him with her prizes, the daggers Misery and Despair. When Drukon took up the daggers he felt somthing inside him change. He saw the world differently. It was as if all he saw was darkened and blurry but strangly clearer. Drukon left immediatly for his estate, for 3 hours he sprinted at his full speed untill he arrived. He was greeted by the councel and their army who told him the story of what happened. In a vengful rage Drukon bounded off to the camp where they were holding the captured Drogoths. He tested his new blades on their necks, offering every kill to the Shadow Panther. Drukon felt something change inside him. He was able to sense Dro'oth almost smell him. Drukon and the counsel tracked Dro'oth to a cave east of the settlement. Dro'oth knew he was backed into a corner and surrendered.
Dro'oth faced th councel and claimed he was defending his clans honor for the loss of his son and the disgrace of his clan. The councel ruled that genocide against an entire clan is an act of war not a matter of honor. Dro'oth screamed he was right many years ago when he said the councel favored the T'oth clan. He claimed his trial was unfair and the councel was unfit to rule the tribe. The councel ruled his punishment was up to the disgresion of Drukon. Drukon ordered that all direct blood reletives of Dro'oth be executed and the rest of the Drogoth can be exiled from the tribe. Dro'oth's name was to be cursed and he was to be used as a sacrafice to the Shadow Panther. Dro'oth was taken to Terminus by Drukon and placed on the alter. Drukon cut Dro'oth's wrists and left him to the Shadow Panther to judge his punishment in the afterlife. Drukon took his surviving brother Ukon to Fort Wyandyk in Cyrodil and left him in the care of one of the T'oth branch families.
For many years Drukon stalked the shadows working as a freelance and a political assassin for the Dark Shroud. His name is whispered in the night and cursed by those he chases. He can find his mark from miles away and track them with unnerving speed. He stikes quickly and accuaratly with his daggers. Many don't realize he's killed them untill they drop to the floor, some don't even see themselves pass. It's said Drukon is such a good assassin he can even kill ones soul with his strikes. Some say he's no longer alive but a spectre. Myths aside Drukon has only been seen by one of his victims on a contract in Vvardenfel. Drukon however was caught by the Imperial legion after fullfilling a contract for the shadow councel. He was picked up as a susspected Mythis Dawn assassin but after trying to help the emperor escape the sewers he was cleared of his charges. He is however marked for death by a member of D.U.S.T. DUST is a secret order of high tech operatives under orders from the elder councel specializing in spec ops missions. Their top operative Illkurok is on the trail of Drukon. It is only a matter of time before the two masters of the shadows meet.
A quote once said by Drukon is "I enjoy the thrill of killing, each murder brings me closer to my family."
Edit: I forgot to mention before Drukon left to persue his life as an assassin he was visited by Mephisto a being that feeds of of tragedy and sadness. Mephisto told Drukon that there was a noble in Cyrodil that had helped equip Dro'oth and his army during their slaughter. Whether this was true or just one of Mephisto's attempts to spread discord is still unknown to Drukon but he keeps his ear to the ground just in case.

What can I say I'm a writer and a lore freak. I just read it over and found a lot of typoes though lol. I always put a lot of effort into my characters. Idk why but most of my characters end up being dark though. I guess it's because I hate the normal fairy tale happy ending. My idea behind him is this, He is a merciless and blood thirsty killer but bound by a code of honor. Essentially he's lawful evil, He loves to kill, spread fear and discord but he hates watching the powerful bully the weak.
