Today I left a comment for a mod I like, and then I also wanted to add a rating... but the rating submission also had a required comment field. Why the two different paths to a comment? It seems to encourage double-posting (like I had to...). In the future I know to do the rating first, and include my comments there, but it seems like the interface could be better...

Suggestion:
Have the Comment page also include the option of giving a Rating (if the user hasn't already rated the file). Since the comment may be a question by someone who hasn't used the mod yet, the Rating field would have to be optional...

It happened that way because they were developed at different times. The Rating system was bolted on and then later made to include a comment field so both features were completely separate. If Dark0ne was to code this from scratch, I'm sure he would incorporate both into a single feature.

It would also be nice if a vote was cast, that the current version number of the mod is stamped with it. Mods change over time and a vote for 1.0 might not be pertinent today if the version is 4.5 and a year later.

I figured it would be something like that... Thanks for the explanation (and good idea regarding the version numbers).
