Ive found a few that you can talk to, but are there any smuglers that give you missions?
MajKrAzAm
No don't think so they just give you training.

Well I think in a coast city (hlao od or a other) you can take a mission of taking a slave to a house in balmora. I do belive that they work in Camona tong but Camona tong is smuglers. laugh.gif

Yep ... SPOILER...

Try the spell calm humanoid / calm creature.
Maybe youll find that some of the pirates actually can give you missions.

I never tried with them, but there are a few mages in the game that actually are
able to sell you things or train your character to nice levels when they just
settle down a bit.

IE:
the master anchanter found in Indoranyon, Qorwynn. UESP says: "May attack you on sight. Use a Calm Humanoid spell in order to talk with him and receive training."
This works in other places, I wont let you know where, wink, wink, spoil, spoil.
Just test it. Test it on those groups that hang around near chests and always attack you on sight.

There are no quests given by the smugglers. Some offer training. Most have the same dialogue you get from everyone else in the game.

Alright. How strong does the Calm Humanoid spell need to be? I used the storebought one on Qorwyn and he kept reading as 'in combat' and I couldn't initiate dialogue with him. What gives? blink.gif

It would have been better starting this as a new thread Azira, otherwise it looks a bit like thread necromancy. However I'll give you an answer. Have a spell made with 100% calm humanoid (area is best left at 0). Even then it does not always work for this guy. After casting it you must raise his disposition as high as possible. Otherwise after one training he will go back to attacking you.

The spell is quite cheap. I also recommend you do the same for 'Frenzy Humanoid' for all those occasions where you want to avoid bounty.

BTW Azira is the name of an opera by Giuseppe Verdi. Did you know that?
Azira
Heh. Didn't mean to revive old dead threads. I just did a search on Qorwyn and replied to one of the threads that turned up.

Anyhoo, thanks for the feedback. I guess I'll mark the location and recall once I've made a better 'calm' spell. He's not getting off the hook that easily. cool.gif

And no, I didn't know about the opera. Heh. Took the name in 2000, when I signed up for another message board. I originally wanted to go with 'Aziraphale', a character in a Terry Pratchett/Neil Gaiman book, but that was already taken so I shortened the name a bit, and it's stuck with me since.

You learn something new each day I guess. happy.gif

No probs - the rule of necromancy isn't the easiest to apply. And I was using a bit of licence about the Verdi it's actually Alzira but no one has ever heard of it. Just testing!

Yeah, I'm a Pratchett fan as I've said in at least one of the book threads. Books, games, cartoons, plays.

Anyway, if you introduced yourself in the newbie forum you would be advised of all the rules and regs and welcomed with various improbable gifts. Check out the rules and we look forward to hearing more from you.
