I have finally found out how to become archmaster of Redoran without that annoying open 'duel with Bolvyn Venim' quest entry. I have updated the thread accordingly.

I have also updated it for a potential Hlaalu quest that can appear as open when in fact completed.

It should now be possible to do all factions/misc quests of Morrowind without a single quest entry shown as open. The drawback is you have to read the thread first. However of the c.367 possible quests in game, the thread only refers to a couple of dozen.

(BTW even if you can complete the open Mournhold Museum quest by selling them every item they will buy (still to be established) to do this you need the spellbreaker shield. You can only get this shield with an 'open' quest entry in the journal. So you won't be able to do the whole kit and caboodle without at least one entry left.) Unless you wish to follow PierreBeauregard's advice and delete the quest from your journal in its entirety.)

Quest Cleanup Addendum: Following my instructions on permanently removing quests from your jounal will remove the quest from your active AND inactive quest list, and prevent the quest from being accessed in the future. However, your standard journal will remain completely unharmed in case you need to refer back to something (you can browse your journal outside the game from journal.htm). Currently there is NO definite way to remove a quest from the active list yet keep it on the inactive list. Just a warning to you in case you go quest-deletion happy...

You know malchik... would it be possible to convert your open-quest-avoidance-policy into some kind of mod? Or making a script that could fix open quest entries for you? The current quest-fix plugins are *not* retroactive.
