For all you completists out there I discovered a quest UESP makes no reference to.
Strange man in Gindrala Hleran's house.
If you speak to Gindrala Hleran in Ald Rhun (I don't know when exactly, when the dreamers start to appear I think) she mentions the strange man and asks you to help get rid of him. It gets an updated journal entry just as all the quests when you have dealt with him. I discovered the quest after Dagoth Ur was dead and there is no potential for dialogue with dreamers - all I could do was kill him. There may be alternatives if the quest is found before Dagoth UR is dead. If anyone discovers this, please let me know.

that sounds intrigueing. do you think a lvl 4 will be able to handle it? that is my only character not beaten dagoth ur.

I have heard of this...I think I remember it from a Vos location, but I might be mistaken. Perhaps if you kill the leader of the local Sixth House dream-broadcast shrine, his dialogue will open up.

If a lvl 1 can kill vivec, a lvl 4 should easily manage to handle such an easy task, right.
Here is how...
SPOILER, as always.

To kill anything in the game, make this:
Exquisite Ring (may be bought in balmora)
Enchant with:
Make the ring (in this order):
Soul Trap 1 sec on Touch, 50 ft
Resist Magicka, 100-100, 1 sec on self
Weakness to Frost, 100-100, 1 sec on touch, 50 ft
Frost Damage, 100-100 (might have been 50-100), 1 sec on touch, 50 ft
Another one (which prevent the monsters from fighting back):
Make the ring (in this order):
Soul Trap 1 sec on Touch, 50 ft
Calm Creature,95-100, 1 sec, 50 ft
Weakness to Fire, 50-100, 1 sec on touch, 50 ft
Fire Damage, 50-100, 1 sec on touch, 50 ft

Further info. This quest is all but impossible to obtain. I have been talking to the guy as UHS who compiled their hints. No one knows how you get the quest and I chanced on it by accident. I have no idea what I did that was different other than completing the main quest before touching any side quest at all. Sadly I cannot remember precisely when the 'strange man' quest came as I was doing the main quest. Although I feel sure I had killed Dagoth Ur. I certainly had not cleared out the Hassour shrine.
Oddly all reference to the quest was later wiped out of the journal. I could go back to a saved game where Gildara Hleran acknowledged that I had killed the man but all journal entries relating to it had vanished. (I have a screen shot of the entry that proves I didn't imagine it!).
For those with consoles you can activate the quest by opening the dialogue box with Gildara Hleran and typing 'addtopic"strange man".' (In my version I have to do the same for the 'pillow shipment' quest in Balmora). I imagine you can only get the quest once you have triggered 'Sleepers Awake' in the main game but I have no evidence to support this. I await to see if, in my latest game, the completion of the main quest, which also closes the Sleepers Awake quest, deletes the journal entries. If it was the clearing of Hassour that removed it, this time it will stay as I had already cleared that 6th house shrine.
I will keep you informed.

This is very interesting. I have never heard of this quest and the fact that the journal entries magical disapear is very interesting. Also, if this took place in Ald'Ruhn, then Hassour is not the proper Sixth House Base to shut down. It would be in a persons basement. You learn this in a House Redoran quest and also kill the priest (a villager of Ald'Ruhn).

Dear me - necromancy on my own thread. Still, I said I would keep you informed.
The above quest should become available once the dreamers appear outside the towns and will be the first thing she speaks about if you approach her. In my case I had been cured of Corprus when I spoke to her but it is probably after you get the disease it occurs.
I guess it is only available in a 'window' of the quest and that may be why it is hard to come by but it can still be played later on the PC with an addtopic command. The dreamer is in her house from the moment all the others appear.

It may be caused by the "Sleepers Awake" part of the main quest. And all you have to do is just do the first Blades quest in order for that to start. Though it may be caused by you getting corprus as the Sleepers begin to get more violent. Maybe somebody else could think about how it starts.

I did this quest my first time through Morrowind, but I was never aware it was an unusual one. When I get home this weekend, I'll have to open up that old save and see if it dissapeared from the journal after I defeated Dagoth Ur.

Has the thought of actually checking up on what should be happening via the CS ever crept into any of your minds?

I haven't because I discussed it with the compiler of the UHS site. I took his word for the fact that the quest does not work as planned in all cases. It was the reason why that quest is not listed on their site - the only one that isn't. If you have the explanation let me know.

Aside from some awkward scripting on the dreamer, I can't see anything wrong -- especially not anything that would cause a section of your savegame to be physically removed...
...But hey, stranger things have happened... For example, Andy Kaufman has learned the fine art of
resurrection.

I've had Morrowind for over a year now and still have yet ot open the CE for the first time.... That sort of thing just intimidates those of us who are computer illiterate.
Not sure if you were being sarcastic there or not ,Marxist, so I decided to throw this onto the board, also.

Damnit... Now it's just Reuters or nothing.
...Anyways... Still refusing to get on-topic... The CS is incredibly easy to learn -- if you want intimidating, try UnrealEd.

(Also staying off topic, for one more post)
Perhaps you missed the bit about me being computer illiterate.
I'll give examples: I still haven't figured out how to use the Microsoft Works programs, like Access. I had my computer for 6 months before I realized the little holes at the top of my monitor were a microphone, and found out then completely by accident. And I had my computer for a year and a half before I realized that big glass screen under the top of my printer was a scanner.
Now, can you imagine the damage I could do with something like the CS?
Marxist ßastard

Bah, you can't damage anything in the CS... So long as you don't overwrite anything or merge a project into Morrowind.esm, the worst you can do is create a mod with unclean GMST entries...
All you have to remember are the shortcuts posted in just about every forum and the slow-double-click-to-change-value routine. After you've got those down, you could recreate half the mods at Morrowind Summit with no problems (Sad, but true).

Now, to steer this one back
ON TOPIC *pokes Marxist with Spambane*...

I have encountered this quest before myself, it was after I defeated Dagoth Ur, and you got 1 reputation point for killing the dreamer then speaking with her I believe. This appeared to be tied in with the fact you could speak with the ex-sleepers and gain a reputation point. I figured it was just one of the things you could do after completing the main quest, but maybe I was wrong

There's a far more easier way to kill Vivec.
Buy a Pyshic Prison (sp?) scroll and it will paralyze aswell as soultrap him after he's dead. If 30 seconds isn't enough.. then buy some more paralyzing scrolls/spells. If you soultrap Vivec into Azura's Star it has a valvue of 5000000 gold.

Does that have anything to do with the topic ....? As I started it, I believe I can close it. We seem to be losing track of the purpose.
