Here is some setting description about the RP. Sign up in the separate sign-up thread. I will make the first post here when I have enough people.

Disclaimer: You may find certain similarities with different works of fiction in this RPG. I certainly do not claim that everything here is my idea from beginning to end. In fact I have actively used different stories to make my own.

Setting

General Geography

The game is set on an island named Caledis. Because of magical and non-magical reasons the island contains various mountain ranges, deserts, grasslands, lakes etc. The climate is temperate, thought the winters are usually mild, snow being a rarity. The forests are generally pine-forests to the north and mixed forests southwards.

General Politics

There are two countries on the island, both under human rule. The vast majority of population in both is also humans. There are occasional dwarves in some cities. A man can call himself very fortunate if he happens to see an elf in his lifetime. Same situation with gnomes. (Note: although the rules I use include Halflings, there are no such creatures in this world.)
The countries are Alnor to the west and Sorlak to the east. Their history consists of wars for territory with peace periods in-between. Currently they have been in a state of war for 2 years and there is no peace in sight. The juiciest lands are in the west, belonging to Alnor. This leads many to believe that they are what Sorlak is after. However, most of the wars were started by Alnor, including the current one.

The game starts in the capital of Alnor – Relington.

Alnor Geography

Relington is situated in the north of the island, beside the great river Alcaran. Near the city, before reaching the sea, the river flows in a bend creating ample land suitable for farming. To the east lie the Downs of Dolor, where the border runs between two countries. West of Relington is a great Desert of Death. Some nomadic tribes wander there, though little contact has been made with them (although there is trade with them). Northwest of the desert is an inland sea Firlon. The river Alnorad flows from the sea into the ocean to the north. Near the river is the city Lostor. On the sea’s eastern shore there are ample salt deposits, and Lostor oversees the mining operations. In the southeast is the chain of Andalas, where river Alcaran starts. The city of Starlight is situated not far from the chain, for in these mountains live the dwarves in their ancient city of Khoz, and trade goes very well between the two races. West of the chain is the great Forest of Mist, where Alnor gets most of its timber. To the southwest of the island is the chain of Urason, where giants live. Beyond that is uncharted territory, for none have yet been able to pass through the Valley of Blood. Jarlon’s Keep guards against occasional attacks by the giants.

Alnor Politics

Alnor is a strict feudal monarchy. The king has absolute power over every aspect of life. To take the strain off him, the king has trusted advisors dealing with the most important kingdom-wide aspects. The advisors are: Military Advisor, Overseer of Magistrates, The Royal Archmage and the Agricultural Advisor. Minor cities are ruled by mayors who only need to pay the king taxes. Major cities are run by magistrates who answer directly to the Overseer in their actions. Farms and villages answer to the local landlord who has military obligations to the king.

Sorlak Politics

Sorlak can be considered a parliamentary monarchy. There is a senate along with the king, and it does the duties of advisors. They can also change laws, but nothing will pass without the king’s approval. The rest is just like Alnor.

History

It is now the year 476. The first written records come from the year 0, and this is taken as the basis. According to the compiled knowledge of Alnor, the two kingdoms had already existed in the time those documents were written in. They have also been warring throughout the known history, with occasional peace periods. Nothing whatsoever is known of the years before that. Contact with dwarves was made around the year 20 and trade with them has been going on ever since. The kings also hired dwarves as mercenaries in their wars. The king has not yet hired the dwarves for the current war.

First post as well as quest information will follow when players are in.

Quests

There will be several main quests, taken on the choice of players. While doing them you will stumble on various side-quest, though most will have to do with the main job. The quests are all long, so one party will probably stick with one quest. This also means that new parties can be formed in the future while there are still quests to be done.

The unfinished navy
For some reason the new navy that the king ordered to be constructed has not reached completion. Because of the king’s own paranoia, he has only the most trusted advisors, and none of these have the attention to spare to find out what is wrong. The king wishes that someone find out the reason and report to him. That person or persons must also then see that the work is reached completion. So far none have volunteered.

The expensive salt
The price for salt has steadily increased in recent months, and the supply has diminished. The king wishes to know the reason. This will most likely lead to the salt mines near Lostor.

The western wastes
A local great mage believes there is more to the western Wastelands than most people suspect. Because his divining attempts have been futile he has put forth a call towards adventurers to go there and determine why he has failed, and more importantly bring proof of his suspicions of ancient magic there.

The silent fortress
There have been no messages from Jarlon’s keep near the chain of Urason lately. The king has no men to spare to send there, so he needs adventurers to investigate the matter.

The dwarven stronghold
The dwarves have significantly reduced their amount of trade goods and they refuse to give any reasons. The king wants someone to find out why it is so.

This is all common knowledge, so you don’t have to start asking around. You may wish to visit the appropriate people for details though.

First Post

Relington, Alnor – 4. April, 476.

The hour is late and some travelers enter the tavern “Gleeful Ward” one after another, and remain standing near the door in search of a spot to sit down. The shops have already closed and the taverns are the only places still open. This particular tavern happens to be quite full. In fact, there is only one table remaining in the far corner – away from the bards. The barkeep is busy producing drinks, and the barmaids delivering it. A couple of bards are playing local popular songs and otherwise entertaining the patrons – juggling, doing acrobatics, and so on. There is quite a lot of room in the tavern normally, but now that it’s so stuffed with people you think you can barely get around there. There are more than 25 tables in all – apparently quite a well-to-do establishment.
Over the background chatter, you can hear occasional laughter breaking out, a couple of insults and other tavern noises. Suddenly, a very harsh insult booms across the room. It echoes from the walls, and before you can find the source of the disturbance, you hear water splashing and a glass breaking. The next moment the barkeep is striding to the middle of the room yelling: “Damn you, Garo! That’s enough out of you! Get out of here, and don’t come back until you’ve washed that ale out of you!” He ‘politely’ escorts Garo past you and out of the tavern door. Then he spots you. “Welcome, welcome, welcome, weary travelers! I don’t recall seeing you around here before.” His eyes fall on Doroth. “Well, always good to see a dwarf here! I’ve been wanting to ask you about…” He considers some time. “Ah, no use… You either don’t know or won’t tell. Anyway – I have all the drinks you could ever desire! I am sure you want a bed to rest it, and some food after the road. There are still many rooms available. You see, all these people,” he gestures towards the patrons, “are locals. They have their own beds to sleep in. They just come here in the evening for the drinks and the news. There’s still one table free there in the corner. If you’d settle yourself in, I’ll be there in a moment with whatever you want… What do you want?”
Adrian Laguna
Nikita sits down on the table and looks to the Bartender, "A pint of Ale."

Nikita looks at the dwarf and the short woman, motioning them to come over, "Good evening, my name is Nikita. Come, sit down."
Tilindra Melir
Sinela nods to the barman. "The same for me as well, please." She takes a sit next to Nikita. "My name is Sinela, It's always interesting to meet new people." She looks around at all the regulars. "Its certainly very crowded here. I wonder if there is a healer in town."
Kethruch
Doroth scowls at the sight of the packed inn. "Too many people." He mumbles under his breath. Seeing the drunk get carted out only reinforces his feelings about places like this. However, beggars can't be choosers. He knew that there'd be nights like this, he just didn't expect them so soon. The barkeep's interest in him only serves to put him deeper into his shell, but the interest, even if it were feigned, is noted and silently filed away for later.

Nikita seems all right, not really like the rest, and being a member of a small group in the corner is always preferable to not being a member of a large group. Doroth's ears prick up with Sinela's thoughts. Perhaps these are two with whom he can deal. Perhaps he might stay with them, at least until he can get on his own, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

"Thank you, milady." He says to Nikita, bowing deeply, a move to show respect that he knows simply exaggerates his lack of height compared to the humans. "I would be honored to join you. I am Doroth, obviously a Dwarf. Born in Khoz, though I currently call no place home."

He turns and bows to Sinela as well. "Hail and well met, lady Sinela. I am afraid I do not share your enthusiasm of meeting others. However, your mention of a healer is of some interest to me. Are you wounded? I have some skills in this area, and would be more than happy to help one such as yourself."
Emry
Celiorion enters the tavern and grins as the wash of noise and light assault his senses. A fine establishment... full of warmth and merriment. This is a good place to be. he thinks to himself. Looking around for the proprietor, his eyes widen when he recognizes a dwarf on the other side of the room. A smile flickers across his lips as he thinks, "A rockbrother! Truly, I am blessed this evening. But first things first.."

He walks carefully over to the proprietor, waiting respectfully for him to finish his current conversation. When the innkeeper looks his way, he begins to speak in his low, melodious voice.

"Good evening, goodsir. My name is Celiorion, and I am a traveller from the east. I am in need of lodging for the evening, but, to be honest, I am currently without funds. I gave the last of my coin to a poor family who was burned out of their home a few days ago. There need for the coin was greater than mine. I was wondering if there was any work which needed to be done in trade for my sleeping in the stable's hayloft. Perhaps chopping wood or mucking out of the stables?"

He waits patiently for the innkeeper's answer.

OOC: I am assuming that Celiorion is wearing a hood to hide his pointy ears.

The barkeeper takes a good look at Celiorion. After a while studying him, he says "Another one, huh. Alright. Can you sing or play something? If so, those there," he motions at the bards "have already earned their rooms. Go and replace them. You can take the instruments from the table there." There are several musical instruments on the table he directed you to - lutes, flutes, gongs, a glockenspiel and a viola.
After dealing with Celiorion the barkeep gets the drinks for Sinela and Nikita and brings them over. "What would you like, good Dwarf?"
Then he speaks to all of them. "Have a good evening. Tell me when you want to go to bed."
Tilindra Melir
Sinela looks appreciatively at Dolroth. "Thank you for your concern, good sir, but I am perfectly well. My interest is because I am a healer myself. I travel around, healing those that need it."
Emry
Celiorion nods his thanks to the innkeeper and walks over to the table with the instruments. Looking over the selection, he picks up a carved wooden flute. Winding his way to the corner he takes a stool and sits upon it and then frowns to himself. "I can't play with my hood on. Oh well, they will find out what I am soon enough. Let's make this a night for these good people to remember...." he thinks to himself.

He lowers his hood, brings the flute to his lips and begins to play an Elven melody that his father taught him.

April 4 - 22.35

As the short-lasting silence if broken by Celiorion’s melody, several eyes turn to look at the new performer, including the barkeeper. After several moments of complete stillness in the tavern, the barkeeper mutters in a low voice “Well I’ll be… Wonders never cease. A fairy-tale, a legend – right here in my inn! I am truly blessed this evening. An elf! No-one will believe this…”
Suddenly there is a lot of murmuring around the tavern. The patrons are all looking at Celiorion and discussing him with their friends. The barkeep is listening to him playing, and has apparently completely forgotten the travelers at the table next to him.
When Celiorion finishes his song, the barkeeper hurries towards him. “You are an elf! I never thought your kind were real. Oh, I should have listened to my brother. He always said that legends don’t come from nowhere. I now see that there are many wonders still to experience in this world. Oh, but I forget my manners. You are welcome to stay here as long as you like! Would you like to eat something – it’s on the house.”
He continues muttering in front of Celiorion, having completely forgotten everything else.
Kethruch
Doroth's answer to the innkeeper's question is interrupted by the sound of the flute wafting over the inn. That's a tune from the ages he thinks to himself. He's glad of one thing, though. The musician's tune has quieted the throng in the inn, and his defenses come down a little bit. Not wishing to be rude, he waits patiently until the musician is done, then turns to he new companions.

"We seem to be an eclectic group." He says quietly to them. "Perhaps we should talk to our musician friend over there and invite him to join us as well. It is obvious that our destiny lies not within the pub part of an inn. Might one who has more, ummmmm, skill in the asking perhaps invite the musician to join us? Mayhaps we can then adjourn to a more quiet site to talk. All of these people, I must admit, make me quite nervous."

With that, he sits back, wondering if the innkeeper will remember that he hasn't put an order in yet. If he doesn't - that's just as good he thinks to himself. An Elf! What a wondrous time we live in. If only my mother could be here to see this, she would indeed be awed and.... His thoughts trail away as he thinks of his mother. There are some parts of him that still long for the comfort of her kitchen. Why had he allowed the rift between he and his father to grow so large as to engulf his relationship with all of those he loved?
Adrian Laguna
Upon seeing Celiorion Nikita mutters, "An Elf, how interesting." To anyone that does not know her, she is not the least bit surprised, but this is because of years of knowing that a negative response to surprises can get yourself killed. Those that know her well would be aware of fact that if Nikita is acknowledging the elf outloud, it means she is very surprised.
Nikita listens intently to the tune the elf is playing. Then, after hearing Doroth's suggestion, she walks over towards the elf and waits for the innkeeper to finish talking to him.
SimVig
OOC: There was a slight mistake in one of the quests. The eastern wastes should be western wastes. I already fixed it, I'm just notifying you.
Emry
Celiorion finishes the tune and is surprised to find the innkeeper in front of him an saying that he can stay as long at he wants. He smiles to him and says, " Please sir, a simple meal of stew, some cider and a pallet by the fire would be plenty. And, if I may, I'd like to play some more after dinner if it's alright with you. This flute has a lovely tone."

Seeing the young woman behind him, "But if you would please excuse me, it seems this woman would like to talk." Looking to Nikita, "May I help you?"

Adrian Laguna
"My name is Nikita. The Dwarf over there," Nikita makes a gesture towards Doroth, "wants to meet you, but he seems to feel uncomfortable when meeting new people."
Nikita pauses for a second...
"I was wondering if you are any good with that bow," Nikita says, pointing to the bow at the Elf's side. "I want to assemble a group of adventurers to go investigate the Western Wastelands, or Jarlon’s keep. There is a mage who wants to know about the former, and the king is interested in why there have been no communications from the latter. I am certain that around here there is no shortage of people who can bash things, but I am looking for someone with more... finesse."

OOC: Nikita's biography and personality are done, exept for a few minor details.
Nikita
Emry
Celiorion looks at Nikita and smiles warmly. "You are with the dwarf? Truly? I would be honored to meet him... and any one else in your group." He points to the innkeeper that he will be joining Nikita's group and starts to head towards that table.

"As for my skills with a bow, I usually hit what I intend." He stops and looks back at Nikita. "You say you are looking for adventurers to go to the Wastes or the Keep? That sounds.... interesting. I haven't travelled that way yet. I also have a few other skills which may be helpful on an overland journey. Why don't we discuss this with the others though? I'm not sure how they would feel travelling with a "creature of legend". Would you introduce me to your friends please?"
Adrian Laguna
"A creature stops being a legend once it is standing before you, I think my friends can introduce themselves. Also, if your skills with the bow are as you say, then it would be useful if you join us, though I too posses skills in the use of the bow."
Nikita thinks for a second, "You seem to have forgotten to introduce yourself."

Nikita turns to the barkeeper, "Barkeeper, where can I find the mage that wants to know of the Western Wastelands? Also, should we decide to do that, how do I tell the King that my band of adventurers wants to investigate the lack of communications from Jarlon's Keep?"

OOC: Celiorion seems to be enjoying the attention he is getting

The barkeeper is quite surprised at Nikita's question. "Oh, adventurers are you? I should have thought that - you seem to be well outfitted for the work. And to ask me... Well, let me tell you. I don't know about the king, but by the mage that seeks the Wastelands, you must mean Kaebard. Finally someone who takes him seriously... Or you just don't know him." He regards you for a while. "Anyway, he is an odd sort of mage, used to belong to the guild. Was a high ranking member too. Then he just left, and now he lives by his own rules. And is he strange at that! You wouldn't know he's a mage unless you knew him personally. He doesn't wear any fancy robes or anything. In fact he is hardly distinguishable from a peasant. But I like him nonetheless. He actually knows what he is doing most of the time. He comes here once in a while and tells me about his studies and discoveries. He's talked about the Wastes more than once, and I believe them. There is something there! Listen, if you want to find him..." He eyes around suspiciously and lowers his voice to barely more than a whisper. "Exit the inn and go down the street to the right as far as it goes. Then turn left and his house is the third on the right. It doesn't stand out amongst the others, so you wouldn't know if anyone didn't tell you. If you're really serious about it, then you better let him know."
Then without further words he goes to the kitchen to order that a meal be made for the travelers.
The other patrons, seeing that the music is over, start to slowly leave the tavern, yawning as they go.
Emry
Celiorion laughs at Nikita's comment. "Do not think that my head is swelled so much that I consider myself a creature of legend! No, I am merely repeating what has crossed the minds of these humans. By their own admission, this is the first time many have seen one of my kind. I am just glad I have given them a pleasant memory in which to enjoy the evening."

Cel and Nikita arrive at their table. Cel grabs a chair from the next table, sits down, and nods in greeting to the folks seated around the table.

"Hail and well met. My name is Celiorion, but please, call me Cel. I'm travelling around looking to broaden my horizons and learn about other people and places. Nikita here has mentioned that you folks are travelling - looking for adventure -and has invited me to join your group. I must say that I am interested. And with such as group as this! Greetings!" Looking to Doroth, Cel nods a bit more formally, and says "Greetings Rockbrother. It is not often that your folk venture this far from your halls. I look forward to travelling with you."
Tilindra Melir
Sinela has spent the last few minutes staring in astonishment at the elf, astonished at what she sees. When he starts to come over, she begins to pull into herself, but then with a shake, she mutters to herself, "stop being silly, he looks normal enough, and no one else is acting like he's an ogre, now take a drink and be civil" With that she finishes her drink and when they arrive back at the table she gives a warm smile. "Greetings sir, my name is Sinela and I am a herbalist by trade. You probably hear this a lot, but I have never seen the likes of you before. You play beautiful music." She is talking a little faster than usual.
Emry
Cel smiles warmly back to Sinela. "A herbalist, you say? My mother was also a herbalist." Cel grins as he recalls a distant memory. "I wish that I paid attention to her lessons more when I was younger!"

"Onto more weighty matters. Nikita has received instructions from the innkeeper on how to find the mage who is seeking information regarding the Wastelands. Are you folks interested in pursuing this quest? I admit it sounds interesting. My only concern is that the Wastelands lay beyond the mountains on the far side of the Desert of Death. If we do take on this journey, how do you propose we get there? It will be a long trek to reach the western edges of Alnor."
Adrian Laguna
"We can take the North Road to Lostor. From there we continue west on the north shore of Firlon. We should talk to the mage, before making any plans."

April 4 - 22.40

A man sitting at a nearby table suddenly turns around and without any introductions or apologies interrupts you. "Hey, adventurers!" A reek of alcohol streams from his mouth as he talks, though he doesn't seem to be drunk out of his wits. "I heard you're planning to work for that crazy wizard... Well, let me give you a hint - don't do it. That man is out of his mind! He keeps coming here and talking about some ancient texts and whatnot. That's all a load of rubbish. He has just gone crazy and left the guild. If you want true mages, go there. But I wouldn't advise dealing with any of them. Our good king is the one to work for - he pays good and he does favors to his loyal followers. Here's my advice: go see the Magistrate of Relington and ask him about the king's jobs."
He then turns back to his partner, mumbles something to him, and they both finish their drinks. Then they stand up and go for the door. The one that talked to you says "Good luck." with a strange smile that makes your skin crawl.
Kethruch
Doroth is glad to be able to focus on a single person. The elf, is interested in him? He slowly tries to get out some words, tries to be courteous, but all that will coe out is a "Greetings, grmmphiln elmmminin". He pauses a moment, then gathers himself again.

"Thank you for your interest. I would like to talk to you in more, um, less, um," He stammers around again. The place is emptying out, but no where near as quickly as he would wish. The curiousity factor that he has toward the elf is drawing him toward him, but, he is sooooooo different.

"Well," he finally gets out again. "I'm glad to meet you and hope to have another interesting conversation with you in the future." Immediately after saying this, he realizes that it made no sense at all. Oh, well, so much for breaking the belief that Dwarves aren't articulate.
Tilindra Melir
Tilindra watches the man leave with a pitying look. "I don't think it would be a good idea to start listening to a drunk" she says, slightly nervous of giving her opinion. "The king has plenty of people to help him, while this wizard sounds like he could use a hand. Maybe we should go and speak to him, and find out what sort of information he is after. He might know a quick way to the west.

"I wonder when that meal is going to get here." she wonders absentmindedly. She is still glancing at the elf, and is looking as uncomfortable as the dwarf, though it is beginning to lessen, as the alcohol kicks in.
Emry
Cel smiles to the dwarf. "You have to excuse me sir, but with all of the chatter of these folks, I never heard your name." He's says more quietly, "I'm not used to this noise. It's been quite a while since I was among so many people... I prefer the quiet of the wood and the gentle murmuring of streams."
Kethruch
"Doroth." He replies quietly. "I too prefer the quiet of nature, though I prefer the solid feel of stone, and the murmur of echoes in great, silent halls. Maybe noise is a weapon of the humans to take over."
Emry
Cel chuckles quietly at the jest. "Well said, Master Doroth... well said." He grins infectiously and wags a finger jokingly at Doroth. "But I warn you, Sir Dwarf, I am also part human; I can be accused of wielding the very weapon you warn me of! "

He looks up to see where the innkeeper is, wondering if his meal will arrive soon.

The barkeeper comes rushing out of the kitchen carrying two plates, accompanied by a barmaid with another two. They set the meals in front of you witha an apology for the delay. The meals consist of beef and cabbage and a piece of bread.
"There you go," says the barkeep. "Again sorry for the delay - we had some problems in the kitchen. He then takes out four keys from somewere and puts them on the table. "Here are the keys to your rooms. Have a good meal and a good night."

By this time there is hardly anyone left in the tavern. The maids start cleaning the tables and the barkeeper cleans up the bar.
Kethruch
Doroth's manner seems to change as the tavern empties. "Ah, that's much better." He says, looking around. "I thank you for the warning, sir elf. Though if you are talking about the heavenly noise that you were producing earlier, then I must say, 'tis a weapon I would surely enjoy being slain by." He bows to the elf. "Sorry about earlier, I really don't like crowds." He turns to a nearby barmaid. "Now, lassies. Would you like to see how clean a dwarf can get a table?"
Adrian Laguna
Nikita finishes the rest of her ale in one gulp, "Bartender! Would you get me another?"
Looking to Cel she says, "So you are part human, a half-elf perhaps? It would certainly explain the beard and mustache, I though Elves did not have facial hair. Do you have it because of your human blood, or male Elves do have facial hair, and I am mistaken?"
Nikita looks at her meal and starts to wolf it down hungrily.
Tilindra Melir
Sinela finishes her meal, and listens to the conversation going on around her. After a while she gets up.

"Well, I will say good night now and go and get a couple of hours of sleep. I will meet you hear in the morning."

After finishing thier food and Doroth helping clean the tables, the adventurers went to bed. Sinela awoke at 4 and having nothing to do so early in the night, she just waited for the others to wake. When she heard voices from downstairs, she headed down to find her friends just coming down there themselves.

At this time the common room is almost completely empty. There are only the bards that were playing yesterday before Cel arrived, and a couple of other people dressed for a journey. The others clearly have other things to do at home.

The bartender is leisurly sitting at one of the tables eating his own breakfast. When he sees you he turns to you with a friendly smile. "Oh, you're up. Would you like your breakfast right away, or not? If you're thinking about letting me finish, it's no trouble at all - the chef has already eaten."
Emry
Before we go to sleep - To Nikita: "Yes, I am half-elven, although there are very few people would realize it. Most would think me a full elf and I would prefer to keep it that way. There are those would frown upon our races marrying." He takes a final swallow of cider and stands. "And to answer your question, the beard is an aspect of my human heritage. There are elves who also have some facial hair, but most prefer to be clean shaven. And with that good people, I bid you good night." Cel nods pleasantly to all and goes off to bed.

Later that next morning: Cel wakes up at dawn refreshed and alert. Coming downstairs, he smiles over to the innkeeper. "Please sir. Finish your breakfast; I'm not in a rush. All I need is some tea and oatmeal. Maybe a piece of fruit. I can wait until the others to come down." Cel goes back over to the instrument table, picks up the flute he was playing last night and begins to quietly play another melody while he's waits.
Kethruch
Doroth walks down, following the airs that he hears coming from the flute. As he comes in, he greets the innkeeper, glad beyond means that the room is fairly empty. "I will wait for the others, and will simply sit here and listen to the heavenly sounds that the good sir, here, is producing." He turns to the elf. "Please, play on. Do not allow such a coarse one as myself to stop your ambrosiac playing." He then sits, and awaits the arrival of the others.
Tilindra Melir
Sinela heads down to the common room.
"Good morning all. Breakfast would be good" she says, turning to the innkeeper "whatever is on the go will be fine."
She takes a seat yawning slightly, and listens to the music not wanting to disturb the elf's playing.
Emry
Cel finishes the aire he was playing and lowers the flute. "Good morning. I thought I would greet the dawn with music while I was waiting." Nodding to Doroth, Cel continues, "Sir Dwarf, I am but a young student of this instrument. To truly hear the wonders of music, I hope that you may one day hear my father play; it was he who taught me. My songs are but rude pipings compared to his art. But now the time for playing has ended. Let us break our fasts and be about our business. Innkeeper, if you would be so kind to get our morning meals?"

"If that is all you would wish of me today, then that will be 10 copper pieces each. Master elf here has already earned his food and bed."
Emry
"Thank you, sir, for your hospitality." replies Cel. "If I pass this way again, I will surely stop by."
Tilindra Melir
Sinela hands the money over to the innkeeper. "Thank you for your hospitality sir." She then proceeds to eat her food.
"So did you discuss anything more on what we are going to do? Shall we go and speak to the wizard this morning?"

Nikita comes out of her room feeling rested.
"I like waking up when I want to, no more meeting deadlines and waking up late because work during the middle of the night." Nikita says outloud to herself, the "dead" in deadlines sounding as if it is part of some private joke.
Sitting down and starting to eat her food Nikita addresses the others, "We should go talk to the mage after breakfast. If he doesn't wear fancy robes like the other mages then he should be easy to talk to, no wasting time with useless protocol and formalities."

Doroth goes into his pouch and pulls out the money for room and board. "10 coppers," He says quietly to the group. "We had better set off soon or we all will be out of house and home soon."

"If your father is better, the angels must surely be jealous of his talents." He says to the dwarf. "'Tis been a long time since I heard such. I myself have no skill in music, though that does not mean that I do not appreciate it. Perhaps someday I can introduce you to some dwarven airs that you could add to your repertoire."

As he finishes his breakfast, he gets up and gathers his gear for the trip.

"I'd like that , Doroth." smiles Cel. He gulps down some tea and stands. "The day's well started; shall we be off? Nikita, why don't you lead because you know where to find this mage."

OOC: To keep things moving, I think it is best to assume everybody is following Nikita to the mage's house. If anyone does not like this, please inform me via PM, and I won't do it again.

"Alright then, let's go." Nikita says, leaving 10 copper pieces on the table, and heading for the door.

Upon exiting the inn, Nikita takes a right and leads the group down the street as far as it goes. At the end of the street she takes a left, stopping at the third house on the right.

"This, according to the barkeeper, is the house." Nikita says as she goes to knock on the door.

Before you reach the door, a dwarf comes onto the street from the next turn. He eyes your party, especially Doroth for a while and then comes over.

OOC: When during a walk you have to go more than 100 yards and/or need to take turns, please don't assume that you get there whithout any events.

Upon reaching the group the Dwarf turns toward Doroth bows and simply says, "Hello Sir Dwarf, it has been ages since i've seen one of my kin. And I have been away from home for too long. Have you any news concerning the goings on of our kind? And if I may be so bold as to say with a group like yours is it safe to assume that you plan on doing some work so to speak. If you are may I accompany you for I have many tales that I could tell and my Axe may be of service."

After finishing his series of questions he awaits the reply of those standing before him.

Sinela follows after the others, thanking the innkeeper for his hospitality.

When the dwarf approaches she falls back a little, to let the others introduce themselves first, but as they appear slightly distracted, she goes first.

"Good morning, I am Sinela and this is Doroth, Cel and Nikita." Introducing them each in turn. "We have heard that the wizard living here has need of some help, and as no one else believes he is worthy of aid, we are going to offer him our services. I can not talk for the others, but on my part you are welcome to join us. I am a herbalist by trade."

She then knocks on the door, so that the wizard doesn't get nervous about a group of people standing outside his door, with no indication of their intentions.

After you knock on the door, you hear footsteps coming from inside. Someone is coming to open the door. In a few moments, the door opens and you see a man. As the innkeeper said, he doesn't look anything like a mage. The man is in his late 40s, wearing the most common clothes you saw on your way here. He has a short beard that shows signs of graying in some places. He looks quite surprised when he sees the company on his doorstep.

"Well, this is a sight to behold! Adventurers aren't you? Come in! Have you come about my offer of a job? But of course you have... What else would bring a half-blood here." He looks Cel in the eye as he says it, trying to see his reaction at someone recognizing who he is.

After the wizard opens the door and speaks so plainly to Cel and the others Demetrius stands back a bit and then tells the group, "Thank you for being so kind Sinela. As I was so eager to join a group I forgot to introduce myself. I am Demetrius Seles and am a warrior by trade. Since that takes care of the introductions I say we talk with this kind wizard here and see of what services we can be." Demetrius waits for the others to join with him.
