Hello World!

I've been playing Morrowind for a long time, with my new system i thought i'd try out Oblivion now.
Thing is, i'm so lost in all plugins, i've only played it for 15 mins or so.
I've been trying to make Oblivion look better by texture replacments; QarlTP3 and SI Texture Pack so far.
Right now i'm looking for a mod to fix the far distance " soup".

Any help on wich mods to install is much appreciated.
Water/nature enhancement would be nice as well.

Hello there. While I think you can improve the 'look' of Ob in many ways you might want to play it for a bit longer than 15 mins to find else what else you'd like to change. Some mods clash and others cause lagging. Good to try them out but set your priorities first.

I started over with a fresh install and all that really bothered me was the, well, not so pretty water.
Found the mod " better water " here and i'm happy thus far.

Not too sure if i like the rapid leveling either, but i'm sure that can be fixed too.

Easiest way to control levelling is to select as major skills those you don't use (or rarely use). Then when you want to level you can use them for a while and stop until you are ready to level up again. You are bound to go up a few levels with reading books, rewards for quests etc but much more slowly.

adds capes to the guards so they look a lot more impressive and it doesnt conflict with anything... the author of that mod is a pure genious i think

you also should get wyrebash as many mods use levelled lists (same fun as in morrowind) which overwrite each other...

akaviri imports, damsles in distress, house map markers, wayshrine map markers and slofs horse mod are all very nice too and can only improve your gameplay...

also if you know morrow you know many mods conflict with each other so be careful which mods from the top 100 you get... mods that change similiar things usually dont work well together but you knew that yet prolly...

yet again.
Going mage i thought it'd be logical to select willpower and intelligence as major skills, hence my fast leveling.
Too bad i have to start over again but then again, i wasn't that far anyway.

Thanks for the welcomes and tips, i'll be sure to check out the mods in a few weeks but i'd like to get some play-time first.

Will & Intel aren't major skills but favored attributes ^^.
So it does not matter what specialization/favored attributes/minor skills i select as long as i make sure the 7 majors aren't the ones i will use most?

if you want to get as high a lvl as possible without going to jail for years that is...
also try not to push your skills to much while being in the tutorial dungeon as not to get your skills too high yet...

mind that restoration, mercantile, athletics and marksmen take ages to lvl so maybe take em as major whatever your most used skills will prolly be

also willpower and intelligence aint needed as favourite attributes imo... youll get em to 100 fast enough if you rely on magic heavily (personality is important for some magic too)... (int anyway if you do some alchemy)
rather put it in endurance (more hp each lvl) or luck (improves everything... you wont notice necesarrily but it does)

This didn't really work for me.
Since none of my majors were magic ones, i ended up having only flare and lesser healing.
Buying spells isn't a option either because i don't meet the level requirement for that school.
