When I'm wanting to exit out of Oblivion it freezes and hangs for like 20 minuntes, then crashes...

On XP it is impossible to get out of...

Vista I just use CTRL ALT DEL and it goes to the welcome screen....

This is an annoying quirk of oblivion does anyone know what is causing it. and how to fix it?

I also have a similar problem. The only difference is that I also get CTD when I try to load a different savegame.
I use XP and set Task Manager as Always on Top. So when I want to exit the game...I go to Main Menu...save my game then hit Ctrl+Alt+Del, go to Processes and press End Process. Instead if I press Quit Game from Main Menu the game just freezes and sometimes I have to reset my computer.

Yeah, it crashes the second I click on exit to main menu... I use process explorer though but, I have it set to always on top....

Is this a computer problem or just a program problem?

Oh well I guess just have to remember not to click on exit game smile.gif

Thanks

Lucky one, almost everyone have this crashing problem on exit. It is a mod issue, not trivial to solve. At least I know no one.
Worse is when it freezes in the screen preventing seeing what is happening.

You can rest assured is not hardware problem, someway not even Oblivion one (directly) yet seems to be by memory releasing issues.
