we talk a lot about the places to go, weapons, races, etc. but i was just wondering how the storyline is coming along? It says somewhere on the memod.co.uk that there would be a main storyline.....just curious how its coming

Well, I wouldn't count on getting any information whatsoever about the main storyline - or any storyline. That is probably the biggest secret concerning this mod..

Yeah, if they're tightlipped about where we can go.... I can't imagine how quiet they're being about the storyline.
Heck, it might even be on a "need to know" basis among the crew...

Stroyline is tied into the timeline, which is tied into the character creation.
so, I beleive the correct term is.... wait and see

Suzerain, I assumed you'd say that, so I made a plan. I wi-
Bah, I forgot. So be it. Plan B: The alternative.
I'm sure the storyline will be very entertaining and will give us something as we get toured through Tolkiens virtual world.

I hope it has to do with the fellowship, like, being at helms deep and minas tirith, but thats cool, as long as its better graphics, try to get a better questing system (morrowind has the #1 out of all 5673 rp's out there) and just make it VERY big, like i heard it was going to be 50 times bigger than vvardenfell! I hope i can actually go into mordor! anyway, anyone can tell me where Mournhold (in Tribunal expansion) is? i cant find it.

Listen...
Your posting stuff that has been answered before in many other posts...
DO A FRICKEN SEARCH AND RTFFAQ!!!!
Also this isnt the place to ask a general question about MW(which by the way if you had sence to look in the fricken box it camein it tells you how to get there).
Im sorry but this is starting to tick me off... we have a had about 4 noobs(you know what I mean) in the last week post mindless info. aggrivating Daerk with having to waste his time to lock the damned thread. Pissing me and fellow board members off by hopeing to come here and take ideas and dreams but instead we find: Will the bloody Fellowship be involved?

KNOCK KNOCK.
WHO'S THERE?
CULANK.
CULANK WHO?
(Thread locked)!!!
Well said, Rynos. Nothing new. Nothing useful.

Rynos calm the hell down or bugger off.
If Suzerain has the patience to answer the question then you can too - the idea is for people to enjoy the community, not feel shunned by a few elitist snobs. If Daerk is annoyed as you say he is, then maybe the mass of moderators he's stuck on these boards should get around to doing the job, leaving Daerk to work on the open "alpha/beta" he promised us nearly two months ago?
Sounds like a plan.

if tribunal is loaded...try resting. you will be attacked...report this attack to a guard who sends you to ebonheart. talk to they guy in full adamantium armour and he'll send you to a girl in castle ebonheart who will teleport you to mournhold

Well this thread seems to have gone quite a bit off topic...It is an interesting question though...Anyone care to speculate about what the main quest of the mod will be? Certainly we won't get any information from people who actually know

...but I'm curious as to what kinds of things everyone else is expecting from the storyline.
**Keeping in mind that it won't alter the timeline or add or takeaway anything from the Tolkien universe**

if there even is a main quest...
i think the focus will be more on performing multiple smaller quest so that you have an adventure that takes you all around middle earth rather than just having a big goal that you want to achieve.
And if there was one... what could that be when it is nut supposed to waste up the timeline...
i mean you cant bekome king of Gondor because someone else was, you cant defeat sauron or be something like the Nerevarine from Morrowind...
so theres no room for a really big main quest i think...

I think that the storyline will be neat. I can only imagine huge armies going to battle right before my eyes. That would be fun.

well i actually did conduct a search for something related to "storyline" but it came up with nothing usefull
here but i didnt really want specifics i know they want to keep it secret, and only divulge what they deem nessecary and when they feel it is appropriate. I just wanted to know how is it going? basically a general question that does not require a specific answer, but rather a general one, like "good," "no problems yet," or "wait and see" (suzerain

) are all i was looking for.
sorry rynos for upsetting you so much

As far as the quests go, they are going good, fine, (wait and see) and all of the other euphemisms we have for it.
(Shuts up before urge overtakes him to divulge the most holy of secrets....)

Hey rynos, i have read the fact, i was just giving a hint to the devs, that later, in a year or two, they should make a wotr one, which will be hard, but, i am not going to say sorry, at least you could have told me nicely...

well...here's what the webpage has to say about the timeline
Quoting from "Mod Features"
- Non-Linear Storyline: Follow a deep and interesting plot or just admire the views as you walk around Middle-Earth. You choose whether you want to follow the storyline or explore the realms of Middle-Earth

everyone is forgetting a major point... i believe daerk wanted this mod to beable to be moddable after its finished. another team could pick up the story and continue through the events of the fellowship if they wanted. just an idea.

I think you will have to do many small quests which will eventually lead to completing the main story line...(talk about stating the obvious)

. For example Gandalf whos main aim was to destroy Sauron done many other smaller but important quests to lead up to his main goal of destroying sauron. An example of this is the destruction of Smaug...i feel like im writing an essay...

Actually MEMod wont be able to do a TC Wotr mod and, polite as I can say, if you would have done a small search of your own not even using the search engine you would of found out way. AME was doing a WotR mod but they shut down and are only making a private one now due to possible legal issues. You see, EA games hold rights to all events and characters in LOTR so if a mod tried to make a TC of WOTR which is the Wotr for free(which is what AME was doing) then EA games has the possiblity of loosing money to a free mod and also losing money to people who buy Morrowind instead of their games. Better?

Actually, Rynos, unless I am mistaken AME was shut down because it resembled the movies too much, which EA holds the rights to, not because it contained LotR content. So if they wanted to, Daerk and his team would be allowed to create a free WotR mod.

I dont know if this relates to AME's shutting down, but the AME site posted much artwork (concept art) that was of John Howe, and Alan Lee, or other concept artists that worked alongside Peter Jackson's Film Production.

The events, peoples, characters, etc of LotR have been given sole copyright usage to EA games.
AME closed down their mod because they discovered that if EA wanted to they could sue the AME team for using the same characters, events, etc from LotR. The Tolkien Estate licensed EA games for that timeline in Middle-Earth, so the only entity legally permitted to make and release a computer game based on that timeline would be EA.
We cannot create a "wotr" mod, which would actually be a "LotR" mod. Technically, it's illegal and we could be sued.

Nor would I wish you to, team. Memod, as it stands, seems so much more imaginative and less invasive upon a given indivual's personal and indelible vision of Middle Earth having read Tolkien's works (at least to my mode of thinking).
