A motor in each wheel of the vehicle?
OMG, don't want to think about the gas-spending for us here in Europe, where gas is much more expensive than in the States...

But it wouldn't. You're just dividing up the engine between all four wheels. But as for my thoughts.... It's pointlessly complicated, and just begging for something to break.

hey, americans are happy if there is more torque (Unless they drive a "rice rocket")

Watch "The Fast and the Furious." Decorate your car to look like that. Ignore performance completely. Get owned by minivan whose driver doesn't even know you're racing them.
Pretty much it's a Japanese car with overkill decoration/racing product logos/etc that completely ignores performance. A true racing version can get excellent results, but lots of people just try to look like it. And end up with something that's a complete joke.

Oh, thank you. I know exactly what you mean. All of the rich kids at my school buy disgustingly overpricing "racing" accesories for their car which makes absolutley zero difference when you actually race it.

Well, you know there even is a videogame about it, and nothing less than from the NFS series.
That underground game is OK, although for people like me who just enjoy watching the cars but would never spend a single eurocent in any of these accesories (I mean the ones that just add extra-beautifulness to your car) it ends up being a bit repetitive and boring. And I forget about the music...
Anyway, what I would do is to improve my car in things that surely affect security, like putting on bigger and wider wheels (for more stability in corners), lowing the suspension and making it harder... and so on.
