Full Version: Amusing little jab at the player in Unfriendly Competition

After you finish your investigations about Thoronir's low prices, both he and I think Jensine as well make comments to the effect of "To think the armour and weapons I/he was selling had recently been pulled off of dead bodies! How horrible!" and "I'll have nothing more to do with that!" Just like almost everything I've been selling to them. Good thing they never ask. Does blood removal skill come with the armourer skill? whistling.gif

Now I wonder what other possible explanation there could be for me coming into the shop every week or so and dumping a new random assortment of items on the counter. "I sell for my uncle, an eccentric smith who's been dabbling in all kinds of armour and weapons, and he also makes pottery as a hobby. His wife's a jewelcrafter." "What about the scrolls?" "It's...a very large and industrious family."

A point I agree. Although, of course, the player doesn't actually dig up the corpses looted. That's the bit that freaks the others.

Talking of humour in that section did you notice the Lord of the Rings reference in Argamir's manifest? (Suggesting one of the recently defunct was Frodo?)

Somehow I missed those references in the manifest when I did that quest, but I saw them afterward, and I think it gives a sort of tongue-in-cheek feel to the whole questline. (Hey, Customer! Help us make sure all the merchants here are in our price-fixing cartel!) smile.gif I guess someone already bought the items mentioned in that manifest, though. I never saw any Sting or green leaf-clasped cloak for sale at the shops.

Haha, good point!

Erm - but that is historical excavation for scientific purposes. You cannot possibly equate it with TOMB ROBBING!

Besides I never pick up the half-mouldered clothing. Would you be seen dead in something someone else was seen dead in?

And just imagine what would be crawling on it!
